I had heard on NPR Fresh Air today that they're currently voting to induct one of several chosen games into the World Video Game Hall of Fame in Rochester, NY for 2015. Upon checking out the website I realized they're also accepting user submissions for games to make it to the 2016 induction!
Of course the first thing I thought of was "let's get Smash inducted!" They ask anyone to submit their favorite game along with an explanation of why it deserves to be inducted, and your experience with the game. Please, as a community let's fludd their submissions with an influx of votes so that we can get on the roster; I feel that with enough votes we can do it, being that Smash Bros. has a rich history, timeless enjoyment for several generations thus far, international acclaim, the list goes on. But these are EXACTLY the qualities this HoF are looking for in it's inductees (see the selection criteria before your nomination in the link below which list "Icon-status, Longevity, Geographical reach, and Influence"). We can do this guys & girls, let's officially get SSB the recognition it deserves, tweet it out! Let's do this! Edit: I've made a few edits above for the sake of objectivity, so that lovers of all Smash titles can vote as they wish. But please, submit only one of your favorite Smash Bros. titles from the franchise, as I understand they only induct individual titles not franchises. And I've posted in the comments section below which I chose and why (though no one is required to do that last part, of course). Happy voting!
When I read the recent gaming articles today, I was stunned by the small amount of good games made it to the Video Game Hall of Fame. Command & Conquer was never mentioned and I would like that RTS game to be in the list because it was that game that actually started it all 25 years ago.
