A list of puns related to "Women in the Middle Ages"
Ha! Get fooled! You thought this would be a sexcist post didn't you?
But in all seriousness, as much as I don't agree with it, I do see why women were considered the weaker sex in the middle ages. Back then it was all about physical elements, how big, strong, fast etc. You were. Because that was your life, you'd be fighting and doing physical labour.
Now, you're a family that's been working the fields, and you need some help, what would you want? A boy! Because he's more physically stronger than a woman and can work harder and longer than she can.
I know many women in medieval Europe had fewer opportunities to learn to read and write in any language, but for those women who did learn, was writing and "publishing" a book much the same process as for male writers, or did they face opposition from political and religious authorities solely because of their gender?
Learning about theological contributions made by women during the Middle Ages? So far I have read about Julian of Norwich and Hildegard of Bingen. Doesn't seem like much for the whole entire middle ages, does anyone else have any influential women for that time?
Thanks
Every time I read research or a blog of some sort, the outlook is bleak for women. Do men actually stay attracted to their middle-aged spouses? Would they cheat on them with a younger/attractive woman if they thought they could get away with it? Would you leave your wife for a younger/attractive woman?
Common perceptions on marriage throughout history are that male heirs were very valued, as they could inherit more than a female would. Is there a historical precedent for men being forced to marry women they did not want to? What about marrying young male heirs to older women?
I would think that to gain power, families would arrange marriages for whatever gender got them the most of it. If I am wrong, please convince me otherwise.
The last girl that I had interest in and actually gave me a chance, after a few dates told me that she thinks we should just be friends. I kind of felt like thats how she felt because of her behavior (walking out of the movie ahead of me and not besude me, taking her time to text me back and I mean really taking her time). She was even a band geek. She is smarter than me to it seems. But gosh, Am I really that unattractive?
Thank you for ignoring our please wait to be seated sign AND the line at the front of the restaurant and then come up to me (a waitress, not a host) demanding the table I was cleaning (which i was cleaning for one of my regulars, an asian family that politely asked to move to a booth)
The family that wanted to move even apologised to you for "taking your table" and you IGNORED them and made them feel beneath you. I hope ur burgers were burnt and ur fries were cold and that you had to pay every cent. I also hope you enjoyed watching my table get free dessert for ur rude asses xxxx
Also thank you for demanding to have a "healthy" waitress when one of our lovely staff, who happened to be asian, just wanted to get your drinks order.
Hope you enjoyed dining with us and i hope to never EVER see you again.
Tldr: Racist middle aged women demanded a table that i saved for an asian family that wanted to move and then they refused service from one of our waitresses based on race.
Intrigued by this somewhat disheartening article in which a woman in her fifties bemoans having to be constantly vigilant about everything she eats to maintain her BMI of ~20, I am wondering if the metabolic slowdown effects of aging can be reduced or minimized through regular strength training? The writer of the article does not mention whether she lifts.
Just thinking ahead I suppose. I have observed that where I live, a woman over forty who has an "athletic" or "slim" look is in the minority to the point where she stands out.
Knowing already that weight gain and obesity have established roles in disease along with exercise being one of the simplest and least dangerous methods of regulating weight in a healthy manner, what does the findings of this study mean for the HAES movement?
Donβt go grocery shopping if you donβt have the time to be a decent human being to your cashier.
Donβt rip your money out of his hands when heβs giving you your change.
Donβt tap your foot, and your hand on everything around you, it doesnβt make things go faster.
Donβt give your cashier a handful of change and while heβs counting it, sigh, make sounds of discontent, and shove your hand over the counter signalling for a receipt before heβs even finished counting.
Again, if you donβt have the time to be a decent human being to these people then stay home. Get your groceries delivered. Starve. Deal with your own issues so that you donβt project them on to others. I donβt care, pick one.
Shoutout to Ilim, the poor boy who had to deal with these three people and whoever else went through before I joined the line to witness this. I wish I couldβve apologised on their behalf but another cashier came to replace you before I got to pay. You deserved none of what they gave you and there are better people in this world.
