A list of puns related to "Wishbone Ash"
I'm looking for some classic rock era stuff which kind of went under mass public radar (or maybe just under mine lol).
To be more specific, melancholic, rockin music with some memorable guitar wizardry & thoughtful lyrics. Can be sometimes proggy, funky, jazzy (without going fully into these genres) with a grasp of psychedelic feel (huge sounds - delays, choruses, wahwahs, reverbs, feedbacks - IYkwIm).
Most preferably artists or albums, but individual songs will be also welcome.
Forgot to add Zappa
This is a phenomenal album, and one of the best prog albums I've heard. It isn't the most 'proggy' album, but it's still prog. It has amazing guitar work, and amazing vocal harmonies. I will not rank this album. Song Rankings:
Time Was: An amazing opening song that sets a great tone for the album. It has a great guitar line, as do all of these songs, and great vocals.
Sometime World: A great song that continues with the great guitar. I think I like the 1st half more, when it's softer, but it's still great.
Blowin' Free: This feels like the most 'proggy' song, and it's amazing. It has a great opening, and beautiful harmonies. I love the middle section the most.
The King Will Come: You know a song will be great when it leads with guitar right out the gate. It has amazing vocal harmonies, and an upbeat feel.
Leaf and Stream: I love this song. It's a great soft song that has an almost trance-like feel. I love the beginning guitar line, but I especially love the guitar that kicks in after the first vocals end.
Warrior: Another great song. I feel like the beginning is a bit messy, but other than that, amazing song.
Throw Down the Sword: My favorite by far, it's absolutely amazing. I love the opening build and the guitar line that plays throughout. The vocals are amazing, and I absolutely love this song. I love the guitar solo as well, and it's just perfect in my opinion.
This was a great album that I'd heard about for a while, but haven't gotten around to listening to. It's absolutely amazing though, and i regret not listening to it sooner.
I apologize for missing the post yesterday, but I've been super busy. I can't promise a post everyday anymore, but I will try to get them out as often as I can. I feel really bad, but I just don't have the time to listen to the albums I want to do in one day.
Me being a guitarist having listened to this album really started my love for Prog Rock. What are some other albums by bands that started your influence for Prog Rock?
Hi everyone! My dad mentioned there was a re release of Argus by wishbone ash in 2021. I canβt seem to find this anywhere. Does anyone have any help here?
So, recently IΒ΄ve got into Prog Rock music, itΒ΄s about seven or eight months and I already have listened to the most recommended bands suchs as King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Rush etc. But this week I was introduced to Wishbone Ash and fell in love with "The King Will Come" what, I assume, is one of their most famous songs. Something I honestly wondered was how I never got introduced to this band before. If I was about to show to people outside of the fandom one of my Top 10 albums, Argus would play a important role by RushΒ΄s 2112 side.
Nevertheless, I realised the group has a considerable numbers of fans, some who grew up with it, other who discovered it later. But how no one mentioned it to me before? I assume the band is underrated and few younger listeners know it. What do you think?
What gerne is Wishbone Ash considered ?????
