A list of puns related to "Watcher (angel)"
Note: Will make more complete bios soon.
Ananiel (Rain of God or Cloud of God): Once tasked with commanding the rains so people wouldn't die of droughts, Ananiel fell when he pled for his fellow angels to be forgiven for their crimes, and God denied him. In response, Ananiel leapt off of Heaven, crying as he fell to Earth.
Since then, he has sought a way for his brothers to be redeemed, even though everyone else, including his brothers (Barachiel and Ramiel, angels of lightning and thunder, respectively), mock him for his vain hope. Ananiel also still fulfills the same duties as when he served Heaven, and he splits his time between Earth and Hell, bringing precipitation where it's needed in both worlds. He's willing to work with loyalist angels, but only to a point - he won't fight alongside them, or help with exterminations.
Ananiel can control rain and other forms of precipitation. He can also summon mist and fog, or create water and ice out of thin air.
Bezaliel (Shadow of God): An angel who was shrouded in mystery even before he joined Satan's cause, Bezaliel controls darkness and shades. His features are shrouded in darkness by a cloak that he wears at all times, and no method thus far has been able to reveal his face. He carries a sword that no one has ever seen him unsheathe, and a book that no one else has ever read, neither of which can be opened by any person besides him. Neither of these was present at the time of his fall, which confuses angels and demons alike.
Bezaliel can manipulate darkness, and he can make it tangible and very, very deadly. He can also summon shades and compel them to do his bidding. Lastly, he can teleport between areas of shadow, and become nearly invisible within them (though looking carefully enough will show that something is there).
Bezaliel speaks tersely, using few words and short sentences - not because he's stupid, but because he dislikes wasting time. He will serve any demon or human who can offer him a fair deal, but he also has a talent for making the other person regret it somehow.
Bezaliel's true goal is unclear to everyone else, as he has favored both Heaven and Hell at times. But it is clear that he has some plan, and that his actions have taken on a new urgency since the Hazbin Hotel opened, and IMP grew to a bustling business.
So my father passed away in October, but before I even knew my father passed, I had a dream and in the dream my father was in a room with an old tv on a old t.v stand. There was static on the tv but there was a picture of my dad that was static (if that makes sense) on the tv screen. When I saw my dad there was a couch that look like one of those Victorian couches that was pushed on the wall. However my father wanted to show me these creatures that he said โwere comingโ. My father opened the wall and showed me these creatures about 6 of them, that were all sitting in formation of a triangle. The moment I peeked my head in the wall they all turned to me at the same time. They kinda looked like an owl but not an owl and their eyes was that of outer space and constellations, I could see that the creatures eyes were moving as if it watches the universe. As I stared at these beings it showed me the birth of it from an egg which I felt the sense that this birth took place millions of years ago from an egg. After it showed me that scene I turned around and told my dad โDad what is that?โ To which my dad responded with โThey are angel aliens son, and theyโre comingโ. I turned back into the wall to see these creatures who were facing in the other direction where a bright light was shining through and they all turned back to face me. Then I woke up with a feeling that I needed to call everyone that Iโve ever met in my life and make sure they were doing ok in life even people I hadnโt seen in year, it was a dreadful feeling. After 30mins of laying on my bed my aunt called me on my dads phone to say that the doctors were saying my dad was not going to make it. I still canโt figure out what or who creatures/being were.
They seem to be as much of an asshole as the demons. Why is that? They arenโt even very โgoodโ as far as a religious moral of goodness looks like
When we first meet Gwendolyn, she tells the Scoobies that she's there to be Faith's Watcher.
Later she tries to acquire a glove that will give her the power to kill literally anything. After Buffy defeats her the council then tells Giles that Gwendolyn had in fact gone rogue. He makes an off comment about "swearing there was a memo".
But I started thinking recently about how we know the next few episodes and the rest of the series will turn out.
Buffy was unprecedented in Slayer history. She was strong willed, with a life outside her duties as a slayer, and she had friends and family who cared about her. She befriended demons and fell in love with a notorious vampire.
When she died, Xander resuscitated her, but her death was enough to activate Kendra. For the first time in history there were now two living slayers. But Kendra was loyal, obedient, and 100% devoted to the cause. Even her brief interaction with Buffy and Company didn't change her devotion to being a slayer. She was the Watchers ideal slayer.
Then Kendra died and Faith was activated. And holy shit, Faith was a kid with a loaded gun. She was Buffy without the filter. When The Watcher Council found out she had joined up with Buffy, they must have been slightly worried that these two slayers with very similar temperaments could give each other ideas. And those ideas would not work out in the Watchers favor.
Gwendolyn Post was expelled from the Watchers for dabbling in dark magic but they had to keep an eye on her. They probably even had control of her passport, so they knew she was going to Sunnydale and guessed that her true intentions were to go for the glove.
Best case scenario, she kills Buffy and Faith so that Faith's replacement will hopefully be easier to control. Or Gwendolyn kills Buffy and Angel and keeps Faith on a short leash, the Watchers assassinate Gwendolyn and get better control of Faith. Worst case scenario, Buffy and/or Faith kills Gwendolyn and the Watchers can pretend their hands are clean.
What do you think?
People of faith like me rely on the Bible for answers. It seems like a dichotomy to speak of aliens as a Christian. They are not human. Yet for those who have encountered them, they are here and most definitely alien. There is nothing new under the sun. Aliens are frequently discussed in the bible, only using other words for them.
Aliens are outsiders not born of this Earth. They are flesh and blood and can die, though they have much longer life spans than we do. They are vastly more advanced than us and can appear as anyone. They dwell here with their own motivations for being here. Some to explore. Some to manage us. Some to help us. Some others to prey upon us. And yet, God claims them as His own too.
We are often referred to as "children of God" because of our youth and inexperience as a people. They are "sons of God" because they too are born as we are, but under different stars, and longer ago. In that way, they are like our older, more experienced siblings who have learned to travel among the stars well before we have.
God created the HEAVENS first, then the Earth. There are many stars and planets in the heavens above us, and God has always been. Why would He create trillions upon trillions of stars and planets only for us to view as scenery? No, God does everything with a purpose. He creates. We are not the first, nor will we be the last to spread from His hand.
The primitive people who first read the Bible could not conceive of the variety of life forms and worlds God could create, so they were only given the basic information they could understand and incorporate into their world view. And they were told that in the beginning, God created "heavens" first, later, the Earth. These sons of God came from worlds made prior to Earth. We are not the only. We are not the first.
It doesn't take anything away from us to understand this fact. When you meet aliens eventually, do not deny your faith. God made them too, and has a plan. They are now as we will one day be: travelers to other worlds.
When Cain killed Abel in Genesis 4, he was sent away from Eden to the land of Nod. He was terrified that he would be killed. Why? By whom? God put a mark on him so all who encountered him would know not to kill him. If Adam and Eve and Cain were the only humans left, he was not afraid of his parents killing him. They were still in Eden. Even if Eve was a baby making machine, she couldn't have produced a whole city of people in the land of Nod. In fact, the Bi

I am up to 'Angel' in Season 1.
It is heavily implied that Giles didn't know about Angel at all, neither did the Watcher's Council. He had to consult the books about Angelus.
So, why did the Watcher's Council have absolutely no idea about a vampire with a soul running about? Surely, it can't have been that much of a secret? I mean, Angelus was dangerous enough for them to write about him in books and he was a feared vampire. At some point word is going to get around that "oh yeah, so this guy has a soul and stuff"
Hell, with how dangerous Giles explains Angelus is, surely he should have known who Angel was without having to tap into his books?
Are the Watcher's Council that ineffective at keeping tabs on important vampires?
So I finally started watching Buffy a few weeks ago and Iโm hooked! I whizzed through the first few seasons and understood Angel was coming up and Iโd have to watch that too. Iโm following this watching guide.
Because Iโve loved Buffy so much, I was sure Iโd fuck with Angel too - but I find myself looking at my phone, bored, when Angel is on. With Buffy, Iโm glued to the TV.
Does Angel get better? At what point?Iโm on episode 9 โHeroโ right now. Am I going to be a bad misinformed fan if I only watch Buffy?
Thanks in advance
I couldn't find confirmation or the contrary anywhere so that's why I'm asking here
I've finished Buffy, I'm on Angel season 5. Just finished episode 12 and I'm devastated. ALL. THAT. BUILD. UP. FOR NOTHING!? I totally understand that there were issues with filming for season 4 due to pregnancy but...that fucking storyline was so bad and I hated most of Cordy's screen time that season. I had been so invested in her character as I loved her on Buffy and it was great to see her develop and mature. I loved her and Angel's slow build up but I was begging for something to happen and they kept psyching us out with some new problem. But to have her gone for so long and then come back like that for such a great episode, only to end like that.
I just can't. I suspect there will be more pain to come. No need to tell me this by the way, I've gathered how ruthless Joss is haha. I will be back when I'm finished to discuss the whole thing. I just had to type something about my anger and sadness right now to get it out my system. Thank you for coming to my (robot) Ted talk.
Edited to add: I just watched episode 15... They really are going for the gut punch aren't they? Or sarcophagus punch I should say ๐ oh Fred my love.
(SOLD) I have the Chaos half of Dark Vengeance completely New on Sprue, that includes:
I don't play chaos and would prefer to not have to read enough instructions to split this lot up properly, so will entertain all complete offers before any for splitting it up. I'm willing to any other bits of Dark Vengeance like the rulers or books on request
(SOLD) Next, I have a completely brand new, Blood Angels Chaplain with Jump Pack. This was essentially procured by mistake and I'd like sell or trade to someone who will use it.
(Pending) Finally, I have a spare Azrael w/ Watcher in the Dark that is assembled but not primed or painted.
If someone is interested and wants it I can also throw in an Ultramarines Transfer sheet.
You can see more pictures, including front and back of every sprue right here
I would like Money, which I'll accept through PayPal, or trades for things for my Dark Angels army. I mostly want Deathwing as I have very little of that (a Strikemaster, Bladeguard Vets, a 5-man terminator squad), but might entertain other offers.
If selling, buyer will pay shipping. If trading, we will pay our own shipping w/ tracking codes as long as it is within the continental US. I will be using USPS priority and provide tracking codes in either case.
I'll be at work so my replies will be delayed, please send Private Messages, not chats as I used 3rd party mobile a lot and don't see chats until I log in on desktop.
In the last comic, we find out that the angels keep watch of Earth in their giant surveillance base, to make sure the rules are followed. How do the demons feel about that?
We know that Judgement is vary of them. Probably out of professional responsibility, but might be an element of real fear to it. And we know that Justice doesn't particularly care. But what about the others?
I think Pandemonica is not too worried. She took her work with her and the job still gets done, which is the excuse she'll probably use if she's ever caught.
Cerberus doesn't know the angels are watching, or rather, doesn't think about it. She probably think she's got free range, because a mortal pulled her out of hell. Or simply, she just wants to do as much destruction as she can, with a time that is limited for who knows how long.
Lucifer has a "what are they going to do about" attitude. She knows and does not give a shit.
Modeus is literally too horny to care. She knows, but her mind is forever clouded by lust and doesn't make the most logical decisions.
Zdrada and Malina are just glad to have time of whenever they can. They know that eventually they'll get caught, so they enjoy the harem life for the time being.
Azazel should be the most interesting. We know that she uses her research as cover-up, but will the other angels accept that excuse? Will they hold her responsible for letting the demons escape into the mortal realm? Was her research authorized at all? She must know about the surveillance, right? Or is she naive enough to believe that she can get away with it? Or does she have a rebellious strain to begin with?
And most of all, what's gonna happen to the demons if they get caught? Will they just be sent back to hell with a finger waggle, or do they get punished? What about the taker himself?
I don't know. Discuss!
fate in mythology: so the watchers are not allowed to interfere with man kind but Samjaza's (the leader of the watchers) simplified kinda got horny Samjaza warned them but they did it anyway they also told the humans things about heaven witch made the whole thing worse Azazyel a watcher also thought man to fight and manipulate (make paint and buildings) Gods world and also the other Watchers thought them science mostly Samjaza and Azazyel got blamed by the Arch Angels, Azazyel was casted into in a region of Hell witch is a dessert and then covered in stones Samjaza and the other Watchers then must watch the nephilim (the children they had with man) be slain and then they got casted in Hell
I finally got around to binging the show, and I just wanted to state that Angel is such a beautiful woman. Thatโs it. The show is great as well.
