A list of puns related to "Waistβhip ratio"
One thing I did not expect from bariatric surgery is that my body shape (as opposed to body mass) would change. Once an apple, always an apple, I thought.
Well, pre-op on November 4, my waist/hip ratio was 97.9. Today it is 86.9! I went from a 48.5-47.5-48.5 potato to a 45-40-46 butternut squash!
I've been in a stall the last two weeks so really needed some good news today!
hey guys, I wanted know what kind of WHR you guys have? Mine is 0.73 (71 cm waist 97 cm hips) idk if that's normal for guys or lower (better lol). Incase someone doesn't know what I'm talking about the whr is when you divide your waist measurements by your hip ones, so you get a value, I think 0.7 is what's considered attractive for women
Does anyone else feel like they've been improving in that way? I think my fat distribution has always leaned a bit feminine but since hrt it's improved more.
I upped my progesterone dosage and I believe in just the last months things have been a more dramatic effect. My whr is 0.83 and it says I'm like pear/avacado shaped, which honestly I think is fantastic for me. I think I look pretty feminine In that way, happy feels. (:
I'm pretty bad at keeping records/notes of thinks, but I think I would really like to in regards to this stuff. Any tips? App suggestions?
Has anyone noticed a difference on progesterone vs before?
Anything anybody wants to share? Etc etc??
40M 5β11β SW 232 CW 213 GW 180. At the age of 40, I am finally having some success with weight loss using CICO and exercise. Since, I graduated High School, my weight has been a slow steady increase from 160 to 232. Over the last four months, I have lost 8 years of weight gain. I am very happy.
My question is about waist size. My hips are now 38 inches and none of my pants fit anymore. My waist goes between 42-44 inches. My BMI is no longer obese, but the AHA and IDF defines obesity by waist size, 40 in and 35.5 in. The WHO uses waist to hip ratio of <0.9. So by all three of those metrics, I am still obese.
What can I expect regarding my waist size shrinking? My goal is to shrink my hips by another four inches, but I need to lose at least a foot off my waist. Is it possible that my hips will reach their goal and I will just have to wait for my waist to catch up?
Sorry if this is whiny. Just questions that come to me as I am doing all of these measurements. I have never made it this far and I do not know what to expect.
Like everyone else here, I turn to strength training as a way to combat dysphoria, specifically to reduce the hip-waist ratio. I've gathered a few tips that have actually worked for me and wanted to share them for anyone who's looking to invert the hourglass figure like I do.
Some of this may already be said on here, and I know there are guys who have been doing it for much longer than I have. I'm just adding here what I think those starting out should know.
TLDR: Do full body workout and add low intensive cardio.
I'm reiterating what is common knowledge already, but it's worth sharing the story so people can avoid this pitfall.
When I first started, I followed the typical beginner guy routine that heavily emphasized shoulder, chest and arm. I can't speak for everyone, but imo because a lot of us are very eager to see broad chest, large shoulders and beefy arms, we tend to forget the rest. In some way maybe we're even more eager than cis guys to see these gains because of dysphoria, regardless of where we are on our transition journey.
I now realize that approach was incorrect. Besides all the common reasons, full body workout is actually more important for us with more fat around the hip because it forces us, at least me, to work my lower body. This is so obvious I can't figure out why I didn't realize it sooner.
Despite being 4 years on T, my fat still goes to places that I absolutely detest: hips, lower abdomen, thighs. All are on my lower body. On top of that, my ribcage curves in more than average, which is such a pain in the neck, so I'm even more hell-bent on getting my hips smaller. While it felt good to see my arms getting more jacked after each workout, I didn't actually do anything that helped get rid of the fat deposits that my genetics design for me.
The fix is easy: I've been doing the the Recommended Routine over at r/bodyweightfitness. This full body routine works for me. Find something that works for you.
If you need more convincing to include lower body workout, here are two more specific reasons:
- Hinge exercises are the game-changer for me. My chino shorts actually fit better now around the hips. My bone structure is still what it is, but the hips have definitely gotten slimmer because all my deadlifts and Nordic curls shred all the fat for me around that area that I didn't even know I could shred.
- I didn't realize having toned quads and hamstring actually helped me look more masculine, but I do now.
Last but not lea
... keep reading on reddit β‘Got my first bit of fem clothes recently and I really need to do more work on myself to start looking a more fem. I can't really do much about my natural chest size, but do ya'll have advice for decreasing waist to hip ratio? I have a treadmill, ankle weights, dumbbells, and a yoga mat in terms of equipment and I'm currently overweight ~26BMI. What are the workouts you'd recommend? I'm going on an entirely new plan for myself next week and love any advice I can get!
I have data on cholesterol level, BMI and waist-hip-ratio. This is the question I receive. Should I filter out the non-obese data to find out the correlation? or just include all the data to find out the correlation?
ps im using excel 'correlation' in data analysis
So I just turned 20 but I started hrt 74 days ago and my hip to waist ratio at the time was 0.73 (26in waist and 35in hip). It obviously hasn't changed at all but it's important to me because it causes me a lot of dysphoria.. I know hrt needs more time but I can't stop overthinking it so I'm wondering how long into your transition did your WHR start to get lower?
ps: i know 26/35 isn't 0.73, I had to convert my metric measurements to inches
Genuine question. I currently have a waist to hip ratio of 0.72, body fat percentage of 25% and a BMI of 23. My activity moment at the moment is light. Without hardmaxxing or using corsets, what can one do to improve this ratio? Personally, I would love to be at 0.70!
About two years ago I was about 20 BMI with the same waist to hip ratio but still at 25% body fat.
I am also worried about doing too much exercise, my breasts (D) and ass would become smaller as well as getting "too hard like a man".
Much advice appreciated!
What are some ways to improve one's waist to hips ratio? Please share your ideas! My thoughts:
