A list of puns related to "Voyage of the Damned"
I'm wondering if this is a continuity error, or if I'm missing the bigger picture on this. In Episode 04x00 Voyage of the Damned the Doctor tells Mr. Copper that one million British Pounds is worth fifty million and fifty-six Credits (about a fifty to one exchange rate). But earlier in the episode Mrs Van Hoff reveals that to win the tickets onboard the Titanic she spent 5,000 credits calling the contest phone line. She then says "We'll never pay that off" and Mr. Van Hoff says "We'll have to work twenty years" to pay it off.
Based on the exchange rate given by the Doctor, 5,000 credits is about $100 dollars. This leads to the questions of both 1) How exploitative of a situation is there on Sto for a couple to view $100s as mortgage like sum of money, and 2) Since Mrs. Van Hoffs says she might as well have bought the tickets, how can tickets for an intergalactic cruise cost roughly fifty dollars a piece?
...So am I missing something here?
As once again we're getting news of a horrible mistreatment of anyone who dares face off against the GLORIOUS SPACE MARINES in Psychic Awakening I thought I'd lay out what was so egregiously bad about Ritual of the Damned from a Thousand Sons fan's perspective.
The opening chapters of RotD set the scene rather well in my opinion, covering the gains made by Magnus and the Thousand Sons after the Siege of Fenris, in the Prospero system and then in the Stygius sector. It then goes on to discuss the loses that the Dark Angels and Grey Knights had suffered on Fenris and on Stygius reminding us why these two were interested in going to Sortiarius to stop Magnus in the first place.
What then follows is an interesting and in-depth description of of the defences of Sortiarius, the Legions homeworld that was once located within the Eye of Terra, setting the stage for the upcoming battle.
>The Planet of the Sorcerers has been the Thousand Sonsβ base of operations for ten thousand years. After a ritual fuelled by the deaths of a billion souls it was ripped from its place in the warp and brought into Imperial space.
>A nightmare world also known as Sortiarius, the mere sight of the Planet of the Sorcerers can drive mortals insane. It is a warped place populated by the daemonic, the abominable and the evil. Although the planet now orbits a star, the hues of its skies change at random, bearing no resemblance to a pattern of seasons. Featureless planes of glass, constantly changing mazes of twisted mirrors and swamps of mutating flesh adorn its landscape. Its ground is struck by sourceless lightning storms, and the biting winds that race across its surface rage with the screams of tortured souls.
>Despite Sortiariusβ hellscape, which renders it inimical to normal life, those creatures born out of Tzeentchβs crazed imagination thrive on the planet. Packs of Tzaangors hunt among razor-sharp crags and jungles made up of the twisted forms of failed devotees. Roaming Daemon Engines lumber across storm- wracked plains of crystal, preying upon one another in their own ecosystem. Rampaging Horrors, Screamers and Flamers pop randomly into existence or appear through spontaneously opening portals, slaughtering or mutating all that they find before evaporating as quickly as they arrived. Among all these beings live the Chaos Spawn, terrifying beasts as pitiable as they are repulsive to those who have some understanding of their genesis.
>The tides of warp energy th

One of my biggest complaints with the game is that no matter how good you are as an individual player, you never really get much for it. Another issue that I have is that some of the best ways to make money solo is mindless gathering or other relatively unfun activities.
My suggestion is that the higher levels of The Tower reward tradeable crafting mats that are either rare to find outside the tower or only drop from the tower.
Pros
The most skilled players are rewarded.
Less skilled players have something to strive for.
A new alternative to gold making
Beats the hell out of that goofy scrap machine when it comes to obtaining crafting mats
Cons
What are your thoughts on the matter?
In my tradition of summarizing the events of HH books, here's the Lost and the Damned full summary:
*Book starts off with the traitor fleet bombarding Terra from Orbit. The first shot is fired directly at the Sanctum Imperialis, but does no damage and the shell is intercepted by dozens of point defense lasers before it even reaches the void shields. The loyalist guns on the ground respond, and a massive exchange of fire takes place. However Horus' bombardment is largely inefficient on the Palace itself due to "The Aegis", an Dark Age-era void shield array far above anything else the Imperium has. The Aegis is multi-layered and self-repairing, and in concept is invincible. Horus could simply exterminatus the planet, but doesn't due to the importance of Terra to ruling the Imperium. Dorn has also placed Terra's last orbital place in the atmosphere over the Palace, providing a sort of sacrificial shield as well as gun platform
*Dorn is basically forcibly conscripting anyone who can hold a lasgun, sending them in cramped trains around the Palace. There's an "acting officer" (implied to be a regular Imperial Army professional) for every 300 soldiers and anyone who stumbles off or tries to desert is executed. Our main character for these characters is Katsuhiro, a Japanese ("Dragon Nations") enumerator who's in way over his head. Their training consists of the forced multi-kilometer march from the train dropoff point to their post, which is considerably long. Along the way they're taught to roughly march in formation and told to aim and pull the trigger on their lasgun. Katsuhiro is posted on the 1st of 3 trench lines around the outermost palace wall, set up to avoid Chaos forces from being able to reach and dig under the walls themselves. We meet several of Katsuhiro's squadmates, 1 of which is an Alpha Legion operative from earlier book Myzmadra and the other a grizzled veteran called Doromek who tried to intentionally avoid the earlier drafts. The desperation and grimdark style of these chapters reminds me of 15 hours.
*For symbolic/morale purposes, Dorn holds a regular meeting with the High Lords of Terra in the Great Chamber of the Senatorum Imperialis as the bombardment rains down against the Aegis. They all discuss the situation with Dorn, the Khan, Sanguinius, Valdor, and Malcador. Dorn emphasizes the main strategy is to buy time for Guilliman to arrive and all efforts are designed to bog down Horus for as long as possible, which is why he's doing th

I'm of the mind that when Reforged was rolled out, many aspects of the Original campaign from both Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne were either broken or half-assed, and some problems that existed in the Original campaigns still exist today. Therefore, as I played through both campaigns on Hard I took various notes of things that should be fixed, and thought that ultimately I would create a full list of the entire campaigns problems, with as many potential solutions as I can think of based off of my familiarity with the World Editor.
Below is a test list of everything I could find wrong with the final Undead campaign of TFT, to see if anybody would be interested in this style of post, and for people who have found their own issues to add to my list. My end goal is that hopefully somebody from Blizzard may see this list, and potentially notice some problems they were not aware of so that they can fix them in the future. I understand that there's only so many times a company can test something before release, and I feel it's up to us, the player base, to also test out the game if Blizzard themselves are unable/unwillingly to find new problems and new fixes. I'm sure that I have missed some things throughout, so please let me know in the comments below what I missed, or if you are interested in the creation of this style of post for the other campaigns, and I will add them as we go.
A final note, some of these found bugs/errors are not confined to that one specific mission, they are simply when I first noticed them or when I got around to finally writing it down, I will try to make a note of each of these more pervasive errors. Some of these may also not be errors, bugs or oversights, but seem like them to me. I will remove them from the list if a person makes a good case for why they aren't a mistake. There are also a few noted "bugs" that are basically me just nitpicking and seem petty to mention, however my aim is to make a fully comprehensive list, no matter how small the issue perceived.
Chapter One - King Arthas
The game Nemesis quickly turned into one of my favorite games. I've spent hours and hours on painting it (still work in progress), and printing new terrain pieces to include to the game. And the result is added immersion and frankly, more fun. What's part of making this such a great game, is the story it tells. This is what happened last game session. It's long, but I hope you will enjoy as much as we did :)
The setup of the board, before drafting the characters. It all looks so peaceful.
The return voyage of the Nemesis.
The mission was pure routine. Check out a distress signal, gather information, and continue the previous route. Nothing out of the ordinary was found, and the course was set back to Earth again, with everyone in hypersleep.
Something has happened. A few of the crew is woken up from their sleep. Next to the chambers is a mutilated body of a fellow crewman. This rushed awakening is messing with everybody's head, and no one can recall the layout of the ship.
Of the people awake, there's the pilot, a medic, a mechanic and a bounty hunter with his schΓ€fer dog. The former can be explained why would be needed, but the latter? Maybe there's a convict on loose in the ship. That would explain the body, but not the wounds afflicted.
It soon becomes clear that *something* is wrong. Doors and walls have great scracthes to them. Solid, steel doors, mind you. There's only one thing to do: split up and try to find the reason why we're out of hyperspeed. The cockpit is in front, and the engines in the back, that much we know.
We're not alone, are we?
The medic moves towards the bow to aid the pilot. From the first room, she think she can hear something. Probably nothing. But the noises continue to follow her into the next room. And in the next room, the surgery room, there's a turret! And it's pointing at her... and shoots! Fortunately, while the medic went this way, the mechanic had moved aft.
He quickly became isolated as the door shut behind him as he entered the room towards the aft. He could also hear strange noises, apart from the door closing. Non-ship noises. He found the turret control room and noticed that one turret was set to *ON* for all targets. Quickly turning it off, he saves the medic from further harm.
[ The pilot enters th

First off I can confirm that all the points mentioned here are correct. As it stands, though it has only been two books, the novel is my favorite one of the two. Lots of great scenes and questions being asked, as well as some revalations as mentioned in the above post. If I had to say three thing that stood out for me it would be:
Illustrations in the book include a drawing of >!Katsuhiro, Skraivok challenging Raldoron, the loyal Primarchs and Malcador looking at a battlemap, Angron's descent to Terra and ending with two coloured illustrations of Mortarion before he was discoverd by his father, as well as what I believe to be Angron just before an bout in the arena of Nucernia with a bulldog at his side. !<
