Does anyone know of any sources that provide an in-depth explanation of the concept of the unity and struggle of opposites?
Getting a little desperate here, but anyone know where to get a copy of "The Unity of Opposites - Winterbourne"? The official website and the bandcamp link is no longer valid, and its not posted on Amazon / iTunes. A shot in the dark... but anyone know of direct contact info? CD purchase info?
I'm participating in a seminar series on Heraclitus. I don't think we've reached very far, so I'm hoping to read up on some more secondary literature.
I just read an interpretation by Jonathan Barnes in "The Presocratic Philosophers". Barnes worded the Unity of Opposites as "every pair of contraries is somewhere coinstantiated; and every object coinstantiates at least one pair of contraries", which violates the law of noncontradiction. Barnes thinks Heraclitus is just abusing language. It's common to say that X and Y form a unity ('are one') if they're continuous. Day follows night, and thus they can be said to form a unity, but it would be wrong to infer from this that day is night, which would belong to the other sense of two things being one. Barnes thinks Heraclitus just didn't see the difference, as this ambiguity is present in greek as well.
Heraclitus allegedly often commits the fallacy of dropped qualifications. For example: "The sea is the purest and the impurest water. Fish can drink it, and it is good for them; to men it is undrinkable and destructive. (B61)" Heraclitus infers from "Seawater is good for fish and bad for men" that "seawater is good and bad" by just dropping the qualification.
Ultimately, Barnes claims Heraclitus just didn't understand contrariety:
>He was working with a fairly loose, intuitive notion of what 'opposites' were, he would, I imagine, have presented a list, not a definition, if asked to explain himself: wet, dry; up, down; straight, crooked; sweet, sour; hot, cold; male, female; and so on. This would no doubt be long, and its items would, to our eyes, be logically diverse: some pairs seem logical contraries, some express physically incompatible properties; some are elliptically expressed relations between which no true incompatibility exists. - Jonathan Barnes
Barnes makes Heraclitus seem either logically inconsistent or utterly banal. Are there any notable challenges to this interpretation? How else could we understand the Unity of Opposites?

Yes I use the quadrants colors when i'm talking or writing in public bc this is austria and nazi is the n-word (a bad pun by which i mean to say you don't use it)
I have create a 3D model in 3ds Max which I have exported in unity by using FBX format. Everything import fine except the wall on which I have applied extrude. The model extrude is importing in opposite direction means the extrude is in reverse direction when importing in unity. Below are the pictures for clarification with the highlight colour in red:
