A list of puns related to "Tuft & Needle"
I've searched the sub enough to know these mattresses aren't highly favored, but I found one locally on craigslist for less than half the price it would be buying direct from T&N (seller got wrong size and can't return it).
So my question is, at $300 is this a decent budget mattress option? Or can I get something better in this price range?
I recently bought a Nectar bed before I saw how many bad reviews there are. Luckily I bought it off amazon and was able to donate and get my money back.
I am 5'1 and 130 lbs and sleep alone, usually between stomach and back. I am so lost on what to get.
I have been reading tons of posts on why not to buy a T&N or which beds to get but I am stuck with a budget under $1000.
I have seen good reviews on beds and then found bad reviews on the same bed. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I just don't know what to do!
The biggest issue for me is the nectar hurt my back (I only slept on it for 60 days) and it's SOOO HOT, like a furnace.
What are the best beds under $1k and don't sleep hot?
I've been getting some lower back pain on my current mattress. It is a Paramount pillowtop mattress. Want to say the base is 10" and the pillowtop is 3-4". Had it for about 8.5 years now and I'm guessing it's time for a new one. Any recommendations?
Thought Iβd check in because this was a helpful resource while I was doing my research.:
Used for 3 years, still in great condition. Pick up only. Located in Ktown area.
Would anyone be so kind as to talk me in or out of any of the mattresses I listed? Or maybe have an entirely different suggestion? Maybe a mattress topper? Apart from Sleepys, I have no idea how the others feel or quality.
5β4β 135lb Mostly Side sleeper/ combination sleeper. Also edge of bed sleeper.
I would like keep the price range under $1000 if possible

Brooklyn Bedding β Signature β Medium?
Brentwood Home βCypress -Classic 11in β Hybrid or all foam?
Sleepys Doze is the only one on the list that Iβve been able to try in store, and I liked the feeling of it. It felt like a nice medium, with no hammock like stuck feeling that some of the softer models had. No struggles moving around on it. It also had nice pressure relief, but Iβm concerned about quality and longevity. Plus Iβve been hearing bad things about Mattress Firm. Would anyone recommend it, or are there any mattresses that feel similar to it that you would recommend instead?
I did try an Allswell 2in mattress foam topper for my current spring mattress that has lost all its original cushion, but woke up hot and with back pain. Who would have guessed sleeping on blankets on top of just springs would be less painful. The mattress about 20 years old, but has no dips. Is there maybe a recommended mattress topper that would do the trick? Iβm feeling pretty lost at the moment.
Compared to Sleepys feel, would BH, BB or T&N be a good alternative? Do they hold up for a long time without sagging? Any fiberglass to look out for? Thanks in advance.

I had purchased a Tuft & Needle Mattress from Amazon and Iβm wondering how the return process works through them if anyone has any experience with this. It is ungodly uncomfortable, too firm, and my poor husband (who weighs 300+lbs, God bless him) squishes the heck out of his side and then itβs like sleeping on a hill trying not to roll down to him lol
Thereβs no way this is going to fold and go back in the box. How is returning this through Amazon work? All Iβve seen is βreach out to Amazon customer serviceβ but I donβt see exactly what happensβ¦
I just got a Tuft & Needle Original queen mattress. Buying and unpacking experience was just fine. Good ship times, easy to get set up, didn't take long to 'plump' out.
To me, however, it feels pretty darn firm. Does anyone have experience with this mattress? It's not bad sleeping on the back, but side sleeping is a little challenging. I've only slept on it 2 nights so far and have woken up a couple times with hands going numb because my shoulders don't sink into it enough.
Are there any ways to soften up these types of mattresses? I've seen some recommendations to crawl on it on hands & knees, walk all over it, etc. I'm aware that a mattress topper would be an option, and I also have 100 nights to try it out, but outside a topper I'm just curious if it will get softer as it 'breaks in' over time.
Anyone try both of these? Would love to hear your opinion.
5'7" 140 lbs side sleeper and 5'3" 150 lbs side/back sleeper, king sized bed, budget around $1k
Looking at all their memory foam options.
So far Iβve liked the sleepys curve, the nectar was decent(11β), and havenβt tried the tuft & needle βmintβ yet.
Curious what your thoughts are on longevity and overall, better construction of the three brands.
I apologize in advance that this may end up being a long post but I wanted to share my personal experiences with these beds because there's so few unbiased/unsponsored reviews out there.
For reference, I am about 5'10", 350 lb, and a stomach sleeper who occasionally sleeps on my side. My previous mattress developed a divot where I slept and i needed a replacement. After hours of research i ended up buying the helix plus first.
HELIX + I ordered it on Christmas day and it was delivered on new year's eve. Good communication, delivery as described. A challenge to open and set up by myself but not impossible. Would have been much easier with a partner. On opening, it had a pretty significant amount of off-gassing. It mostly dissipated after 24 hours but I could still smell it up close for about a week. Originally felt WAY too soft so I purchased the Big Fig to compare (info below). In the meantime i moved the helix plus to a different frame that had much better support. I didn't realize how little structural support my old foundation had. The mattress was much more supportive on this frame. For me personally, it feels like a 6.5-7/10 but I am a very heavy person. If you're very light, this would likely feel firmer. The comfort layer is mostly made of memory foam but it has a kind of responsive memory foam/latex combo feel. It's pretty bouncy but also difficult to move around on it. On the new frame I felt very comfortable but could feel my lower back bending a bit too much while stomach sleeping. I felt pretty comfortable side sleeping. I can't speak to the cooling features because i keep my heat at 61 during the winter. However, I never once felt cold so it may not be super cooling. The main reasons I've decided to return this bed are that it's a bit too soft/memory foamy for me. I can easily feel and see the coils on the side of the mattress. I'm concerned that it will sleep very hot in the summer (I have no proof to back this up though). I've also learned a lot about memory foam since buying and i worry that it won't hold up long term under my weight despite claims about high density foams. I haven't initiated the return yet but will update this once I do.
Update: the helix return process was very quick and painless. They contacted me quickly and arranged for someone to come pick it up within about a week. I got my refund 2 days after the mattress was picked up. They let me keep the pillows that came with it. They're nothing special but it was still n
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm 2 months into sleeping on my Tuft & Needle (T&N) mattress and I am still very much enjoying it. I purchased their basic mattress, but they do offer an upgraded one for a few hundred $ more (Mint).
Prior to that my partner and I threw out a 1.5k mattress from a Mattress Firm that turned into a saggy mass of soft top that was destroying our backs. After spending so much on a mattress that lasted 6 months, my partner and I opted for a firm/ cheap mattress. This also provided a series of back issues for us.
When on vacation we slept on a T&N and knew this was the one we were looking for. At a non- insane price point (~$900 out-the-door, CA) and a foam mattress, we are satisfied with our purchase thus far. It's a bit more on the firm side, but this has become better for our aging backs. They also offer a pillow top if the mattress turns out to be too firm for you.
They deliver it in a box. We received ours in about 7 days and they have a service to remove the old mattress for a fee.
All-in-all I haven't been this happy with a mattress purchase in years, so I found it necessary to write this review for all the other picky sleepers with back pain out there.
TL;DR 2 months in and im still enjoying the T&N mattress. Tired of overpaying for trash. Fair price point 100 day sleep trial Foam mattress Firm, better for my back. Offer a pillow top if the mattress is too firm for you. Shipped in a week (CA).
I post about this after reading the consumer report bed rankings. Casper was ranked higher than Tuft and Needle Mint, but based off of YouTube reviews, both seem to be great. I am looking for advice from people who have one or the other, or both. I hear the Mint is firmer than most, but CR lists the Casper as being more firm. Is this true? How is the stabilization?
I am a back sleeper and my partner is a side sleeper, so looking for a good bed that will suit both of us.
[CLAIMED]
We purchased a queen sized mattress from Tuft & Needle (memory foam) in November and decided to upgrade to a king. Tuft & Needle has asked us to donate the mattress but no charities in NYC will take a mattress. We also have a bed frame and mattress protector that go with it. free to anyone who can pick it up in south astoria.
Hello! I'm looking to get a new mattress and upgrade from a basic BeautyRest mattress I got a few years ago. It seems like all the hype right now is surrounding Casper, Tuft & Needle and Leesa.
For those of you who've used one of these mattresses for at least a year, do you recommend it? Or are there other lesser known brands that are of better quality?
I'm around 220 lbs if that makes a difference. Thanks!
I think weβve finally narrowed our options down to Tuft and Needle Hybrid and Casper Nova Is the Casper worth the extra couple of hundred dollars or will we be happy with T&N?
For context Iβm about 210lbs and partner is about 160lbs I sleep on my stomach, she sleeps on her side. We live in AZ so cooling is a good benefit for us.
Anyone have any last minute input or anything else we should consider?
After coupons and what not I got T&N down to $1350, Casper to about $1600.
Thanks!
Hi All,
I'm deciding between the T&N original and Bear original. I picked these two because I like a firm foam mattress. I like the memory foam feel in general. T&N is $200 cheaper and quicker shipping. I'm a side sleeper in general. Any input/experiences on these two mattresses would be widely appreciated. Thanks
Update to my update (lol): I'm thinking about getting this queen Beautyrest mattress ( Beautyrest BR800 13.5" Medium Pillow Top Mattress (mattressfirm.com) ) - might be a terrible idea to put it on my current queen Allswell frame, ( Convertible Platform Bed Frame | Allswell Home ) but thinking of getting a bunkie board ( Sleepy's 2" Bunkie Board (mattressfirm.com) ) instead of a box spring ($250!) since I need the guaranteed storage space as I live in a tiny studio.... the saga continues - don't be like me, get a good bed first time around!
Update: Got a latex topper, seems to be helping a bit but it has kind of a strange smell. Ah well...
I just moved and got a Tuft & Needle bed on a platform frame. I was hot at first while figuring out the HVAC system in my new place, but now I'm still having difficulty falling asleep due to feeling warm - if I fall asleep, I wake up too hot. I know the temperature is 64-65 degrees when I sleep, and I took off my mattress pad and mattress protector, but still am having problems. I've never had a foam mattress before, but if I'm hot now I know it will be an even worse problem come summer.
Any recommendations? Any "bed in a box" options that are more comfortable out there or am I doomed to spend more $ on a coil mattress? (If so, any recommendations for mattresses that sleep cool?)
I'm side sleeper 6 ft 220 lbs. Always had traditional mattress but usually added a foam topper or 2.
Now looking to buy an affordable mattress (less then $600)
Costco has the novaform 14" I think and the casper 12" which I believe is the same as the original casper.
I want back support but also pressure relief from side sleeping.
Which one? Or other suggestions if you have I saw Tuft&needle from Amazon similar price.
Thanks!
My fiance and I bought a Tuft & Needle Hybrid Mattress a few months ago. We thought it was a little firm, but it says ti give it 30+ days to let your body adjust to a new mattress. Well, by 30 days, we were both waking up with bad back pain, so we added a 2" memory foam mattress topper. It was immediately much better. I asked T&N customer service about the mattress firmness and they were pretty much useless, saying just that the Hybid is "medium-soft" vs "medium-firm" or "medium" for their other mattress variants.
I feel like if we're paying $1,400 for a mattress, it shouldn't need a foam topper as well.
I'm 5'10", 155lb, and my fiancΓ© 5'11", 180lb, and we're both side sleepers who tend to sleep hot. He's tried all-foam mattresses in the past and found they were too soft and gave him back pain, but our old mattress was definitely too firm and also giving him back pain/not providing enough support.
We also want something that has a bit of bounce for sex.
Did we make huge mistake with T&N? What would other side-sleepers suggest for a good mattress? We're willing to spend a little, because we're looking at it as a 10+ year investment on good sleep.
Went to Mattressfirm to check out some mattresses and the rep. I worked with pointed me towards a Beautyrest hybrid ($550 for a send-back). I tried the firm and medium, they were alright, but I'm not very sure how to feel what I'm looking for.
I looked on sleeplikethedead.com since most review sights seem to have a bias, they recommended Saatva Innerspring, T&N Foam, and Helix Hybrid based on the mattress selector.
I'm wondering if anyone has any insights on these mattresses or possibly PerfectCloud Hybrid?
I'm 5'9", around 170lbs with broad shoulders and some lumbar pain, and sleep somewhere between side and stomach. Also as seen in this post the 'sensual pounding' Andrew mentioned is of some importance.
Hi! My husband and I are in the market for a king mattress. Weβre on a ~7 year old queen traditional coil mattress and box spring now with no issues but also looking into foam/bed in a box type mattresses. Weβre 25, 115 and 185 lbs and both are side sleepers.
Currently my front runners are: Tuft & Needle Original Casper Element Casper Select (Costco)
Any thoughts on which would be the best choice or others we should consider? I prefer ordering online since I get intimidated by sales people but open to going I to our local Mattress Firm to test some out of thatβd be more helpful than online reviews.
Thanks!
** update: ordered the Casper Select! Will update again once it has arrived and weβve gotten to break it in
Hey,
What mattress do you guys own and do you recommend purchasing it? Iβm trying to decide which mattress to buy but would like input from those who own a Novafoam Or Tuft & Needle mattress.
If any of you own a different mattress that you highly recommend, please suggest it :)
I have a budget up to about $850 ish or less for a mattress.
I am looking for a Queen size mattress. I am a male 6β2 190 pounds!
I sleep in every position possible but on my sides and back more often than not
If you do own one, can you please say how long youβve owned the mattress? I want to make sure it doesnβt start sinking after a few years!!
Iβm a college student looking to get a full sized bed. Iβm on a really tight budget and only plan on using this bed for 3 years. Iβve narrowed it down the the TN Original and the Nest LS but I donβt know which one to get and would really appreciate some advice. If anyone else has any recommendations let me know.
About a month or so ago I decided to try out the Tuft & Needle Mint mattress after making the decision to go up to a king. I know "bed in a box" mattresses are hotly debated here, but I had a wonderful experience with Ghostbed in the past, so I wasn't worried. Unfortunately, this mattress is just not for me. Way too firm, my whole body aches, I was quite hot, barely sleeping, and I have not had a great time. I reached out to customer service, and they provided me with a topper, which honestly worked the first night, but after that I was right back to sleeping poorly. So I called today, resolved in my decision to return, and I'm still within my trial period, and I have to say, both service reps I spoke with were incredibly sweet and helpful. The process was painless, fast, and they didn't try to sell me on their other products. She gave me tips on how to donate the mattress in these Covid times, and apologized profusely that it didn't work out for me. The experience was so much better than I anticipated, and I just want to let people know, if you've considered them and were afraid, don't be. Other than me needing to find a way to haul a King mattress 2 hours away (personal choice for donation, not their fault), this was a perfect customer service experience.
Sleep well guys!
Looking to get one or the other. I know one's foam and the other's gel but I really can't decide what mattress to get and I've narrowed it down to these two out of the ocean of mattresses out there.
Looking for a new, queen medium-firm mattress (I'm a side/back sleeper). Want a mattress that'll last me at four years, at least, and doesn't sleep too warm. Anyone have experience with the three mattresses mentioned?

We recently bought a budget memory foam mattress from walmart (spa sensations) and every morning my wife wakes up with really bad back pain. She has severe scoliosis so we are looking to replace it with something more firm. Have read great things about the tuft and needle but not sure it is firm enough. Nectar has great reviews too and seems more firm. Or I am thinking we just go big and go with the tempurpedic pro adapt firm and not chance her pain remaining. Are the tempurpedics truly as amazing as they and everyone claim? Thanks for any feedback!
It's time to buy a new mattress for the guest room. We bought a Tuft & Needle the last time we needed a mattress, and it has served us well. But they've gotten a bit pricey since then and I'm wondering if a less expensive brand would work as well.
I bought the full size T&N Mint mattress when it first came out and used it for around 5 years and it still feels as firm as when I first got it.
I got a larger bed and got the king size T&N Mint mattress. With 2 years of use, the mattress has become extremely soft and my back hurts.
Iβm wondering if other people have had this issue with the king size specifically? Or is it just in recent years T&N quality has gone down?
Iβve noticed comments on other posts mentioning that the mattress gets softer but I was surprised because the first Mint mattress I bought from them held up so well.
Any recommendations? Any "bed in a box" that are more comfortable out there or am I doomed to spend more $ on a coil mattress?
