This past year I started learning about Norwegian culture and the Norwegian language, and I came across pictures of those scary troll dolls. How popular are these among Norwegians? They honestly seem like nightmare fuel lol, but it looks like a lot of people like them.
We have something similar here in America, there are these HORRIFYING Christmas elves that people think are either super sweet and adorable or look like evil little demons. Theyβre somewhat rare though and not common in American houses.
Are the Norwegian trolls common decorations for homes? Are they thought of as βcuteβ or βweirdβ, or both? And most importantly, do you keep them in locked boxes so they donβt come to life and murder you in the night? Thanks for any info you can give me!
(P.S. I know this is a super snarky/humorous question but I am genuinely interested in the meaning and perspective of Norwegians about the troll dolls lol.)
