Thesis 1: In the Jewish scriptures "all the nations" and "the whole world" is limited to the scope of the Ancient Near East.

1. In reference to the conquest of Canaan, Deuteronomy 2:25 (cf. 28:10) says "the nations everywhere under heaven" will fear the Israelites. Yet only the nations of Canaan and the immediately surrounding peoples are ear-witnesses of Israel's Exodus.
2. In reference to the Babylonian Exile, LXX Deuteronomy 4:27 states that God will disperse Israel "to all the nations, from one end of the earth to another." Likewise, the Babylonian avenger of God's wrath will come upon Israel "from the end of the earth" (28:49).
3. In reference to a day of international judgement, Joel 3:1 says God will "gather all the nations." But the nations listed are limited to Tyre, Sidon, Philistia, the Greeks, and the Sabbeans (3:4-8). Joel goes on to state that it is actually "all the neighboring nations" who should expect judgement on account of their treatment of Israel (3:12).

Conclusion 1: What emerges from these texts is an Israel-centric view of the world. "All the nations" refers to the nations surrounding Israel. "Ends of the earth" refers to the limits of an ancient Israelite's geographic vision. For the ancient Israelite the whole world consisted only of those nations and peoples who could feasibly impact Israel's politics.

Thesis 2: In the Christian scriptures "all the nations" and "the whole world" is limited to the scope of the Greco-Roman world.

1. Paul claims that his gospel "has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven" and that it "was believed on throughout the world" (Colossians 1:23, 1 Timothy 3:16). Paul says the faith of the believers in Rome "is proclaimed throughout the world" (Romans 1:8); "all" have heard the good news (Romans 10:16-18); "every place" has heard of the Thessalonian's faith (1 Thess 1:8). Paul and his associates have been equipped for the sake of God's name "among all the nations" (Romans 1:5). Paul writes all this despite being confined to the Roman empire.
2. Luke writes similarly. A census limited to the Roman empire is said to register "the whole world" (Luke 2:1). A severe famine affecting the Mediterranean is said to be "over all the world" (Acts 11:28). A pagan claims all of Asia Minor and even "the world" worships Artemis (Acts 19:27).

So I just feel like it's time I broke down what a lot of the symbolism and metaphorical things in Destiny 2 are loosely based on, well maybe more then just loosely based on. I've broken it down into two basic schools of thought or two philosophies that kind of merged over the centuries and became Alchemy.

So since there's so many alchemical symbols related to witch queen I thought I'd make a post trying to explain some of it. Warning this is going to be a longer post and I'm not going to make a TRDL because to understand this you have to ready to take in a bunch of this information, and most people just aren't ready this or as I'm going to refer to it as "it"

-Now before I can get into how these philosophies are related to bungie as a company and also related to Destiny 2s inspiration for themes and symbols I need to explain things as best as I can and also I need to share my perspective of why I see things the way I do.

First of these two things that lead into alchemy is Sacred Geometry. I think it's obvious because sacred geometric symbols are just pouring out of every Bungie game Destiny, Halo, Pathways to darkness and Marathon. Slowly over time slowly over time bungies has been getting more and more liberal with the symbolism of sacred geometry and having it placed right out in the open. Census Bureau Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Technology That Propelled GIS, Digital and Online Mapping into the 21st Century

The convenience of getting directions today on smartphones and tablets can trace its roots to the digital geographic database created 25 years ago by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) database — the first nationwide digital map of roads, boundaries and water — was initially created for the 1990 Census to modernize the once-a-decade head count. However, its impact has extended well beyond its initial purpose by offering common map data in electronic form that powers today’s geographic information system industry.

“TIGER is just one example of how innovation in the government has spurred innovation and positive economic results in the private sector,” U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker said. “TIGER helped grow an entire industry — the GIS industry — and created many good jobs by providing popular mapping products integral to the everyday lives of Americans.”

In addition to celebrating this 25-year milestone, the Census Bureau is also announcing that the U.S. Geological Survey will use TIGER as the primary roads layer on The National Map Viewer and US Topo map product starting in 2015. The TIGER roads layer, which consists of all roads in the U.S., joins the TIGER governmental unit boundaries layer as an authoritative source of current, accurate and high-quality geospatial data for The National Map, which delivers topographic information for the nation.
