On a LoK rewatch and I just can't bear her. She's such an arsehole. She expects her sister to just be over their past despite being the cause and never ever repenting or repairing the damage she did. She disgraces Toph's legacy as police chief and demonstrates zero genuine remorse. She expects Korra to stay and train her daughter in airbending because "this is Opal's home". And she was so far off being the leader she pretended to be, she inspired Kuvira to go full imperial army of earth. Not to mention, she pretends to be mature and enlightened but her whole life and city are set up to shield her from the real world. She's nothing more than a bog standard inheritance princess who shirked her responsibilities to live in her own little paradise. I think her eldest son and adopted daughter going rogue was entirely her own doing, no wonder they felt like they had to step up and run things. Suyin was happy to let the earth kingdom collapse and struggle as long as her special little city remained untouched.
Can you think of a more awful "good guy" in the avatar universe? Obviously there are many characters who are worse than Suyin but they're generally the "baddies". Please help me not hate her character so much by reminding me of other "good guys" who are just as awful as Suyin. I can't think of any right now because I'm so bothered by Suyin.
Obviously no Avatar State for Kyoshi, and Toph is in her prime.
EDIT: Also, don't forget, Toph invented Metal Bending. Kyoshi can't bend metal.
