A list of puns related to "Titan A.E."
My guess is to appeal to a larger audience outside of the city where the team is located, but I donโt actually know. Is there another reason?
Titan AE is underrated. Legendary animator Don Bluth builds beautiful worlds. Joss Whedon of Marvel wrote a script that is both smart and funny. The cast included Ron Perlman, Bill Pullman, Nathan Lane, John Leguizamo, Matt Damon, and Drew Barrymore.
This movie fell victim to the Fox Animation studio's mismanagement and attempt to capitalize off the Disney renaissance at a time when hand drawn animation was dying. It is a shame, because from the script, animation, and the voice act ng, you can tell the creators put a lot of heart and energy into this.
Some people don't like the combination of 3D and 2D animation. I can sympathize with this argument, but this movie was released in 2000, only 4 years after the first feature length CGI movie toy story. Moreover, Don Bluth is one of the greatest American hand drawn animation artists. As such, I personally believe it would have been criminal to not showcase his art while simultaneously using CGI in the space battles.
People also complain about the dated late 90s early 2000s soundtrack. I get it. However, it is a product of its times. People don't fault Star Trek the Next Generation for having dated 80s comedians guest star. People don't fault the 2005 renaissance of Doctor Who for being fixated on 2005 London. For me, these elements are forgivable. I can laugh at the soundtrack and still enjoy the movie.
People, unfairly, compare Titan A.E. to Treasure Planet and Atlantis: Lost Empire because all 3 movies came out around the same time and used the hybrid 2D 3D animation styles. I believe Titan A.E. is the superior film.
Treasure Planet and Atlantis follow the classical Disney model of basing their movies on existing classical literature (Treasure Island) or legend (Atlantis).
IMHO I thought Treasure Planet was silly. It seemed like someone thought the original Treasure Island wasn't exciting enough so in a desperate attempt to get butts in seats, they said, "What if we have wooden pirate ships in space?" It honestly felt like a desperate attempt to raise the stakes much like the trend of advertisers slapping the word EXTREME on their products
I actually had high Hope's for Atlantis. I liked the steampunk retro future style that heavily borrowed from the stories of Jules Verne. I thought the characters were interesting. I enjoyed it until the big reveal that the leader of the expedition is nothing but a bad guy who wants money. This felt jarring and was a conflict that was unnecess

If you have any questions, please ask. I have Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, & Disney+. Please limit your suggestions to those platforms.
I love science fiction, & I especially love SF films about exploration (like Interstellar), aliens, weird SF, & social science fiction.
I recently watched Her (with Joaquin Pheonix), District 9, & Cloverfield, and I loved them all. Interstellar has been my favorite movie since I saw it in theaters. I smile like an idiot throughout the whole movie when I watch it. IMO it's the perfect SF film. I've never been super into Star Wars, but my favorite movie in the franchise is Rogue One.
Just watched Titan A.E, and I want to watch similar animations. Some movies that I already watched that I consider to be in the same vein: Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), The Iron Giant (1999), Treasure Planet (2002), The Road to El Dorado (2000), and Steamboy. I also have Metropolis (2001) on my list.
Thanks !
So I've been considering a GPU upgrade, and was browsing this site.
https://www.gpucheck.com/gpu-benchmark-graphics-card-comparison-chart
There are some crazy GPUs selling for multiple thousands of dollars, and I was curious as to what situations GPUs like this would be necessary. Of course, some rich nerds likely buy these to play minecraft with (nothing wrong with that), but what are the real life practical applications for one of these bad boys?
Like maybe some jobs require rendering of complex simulations containing millions of polygons or something? Does anyone work in a field where top of the line graphics cards are used regularly? I'm interested, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

All of them, the titanic was a ship, not a sink
Nearly 110 years since Titanic sunk, ROV operators were surprised to find the pool was still full of water.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Most people donโt know that back in 1912, Kraft mayo was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.
The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
