A list of puns related to "Thicker than Water (Only Fools and Horses)"
Fantastic news, another episode shown countless times. Who honestly decides BBCs tv showings?!
20:00 Only Fools, 21:00 Only Fools. Is this UK TV Gold or "BBC 1"?!
Rodney argued that doing this would give people nowhere to live, as all the affordable housing has fallen in to the hands of "Yuppies" who will make a profit from it. 30 years ago Rodney called it.
The conversation occurs at the beginning of S6 episode 1
MATTHEW
The dragonβs warning was something that Matthew took to heart. He stood brave but felt the need to bow. He stared harshly but felt the need to break down and ask for forgiveness. Regardless of his decision to stand firm, he dropped his swords. The dragon was right; challenging it would probably end in Matthewβs demise.
βYou stand strong,β the dragon bellowed. βYet, your heart is afraid. Why is that?β Its voice was somehow both soothing and snake-like. Matthew couldnβt tell what his intentions were, but he hadnβt seen anything malicious. He was good at reading people, butβ¦ not dragons, apparently. βIβm not afraid of you,β Matthew found himself saying.
What would be the dragonβs laugh was replaced with a thick smoke protruding from its nostrils. βI believe you,β the dragon admitted. βWhat reason would you have to be scared of me? My appearance? My size, my power?β
Matthew continued to stare but grew closer and closer to breaking down. βYou havenβt given me a reason to be afraid of you,β Matthew explained. βNo aggression, no malicious intentions, nothing. If you did, I would have defended myself. Iβm not afraid of things or people just because theyβre bigger than me.β
βI believe you on that as well,β the dragon replied. βDo you know why I brought you here, Athenian?β
Matthew glanced at the ground to think. With the addition of the dragonβs gleaming grey and blue scales, he noticed a pattern on the tile-- the same pattern that he now had branded onto each of his palms. βTo find my father?β He answered, not very sure of himself. Matthew looked back up at the dragon. He tried to make eye contact, but considering he was barely the size of one of its smallest teeth, it was quite difficult. βPartially,β the dragon agreed. βHowever,β it continued, βyou must find yourself before you find your father.β
βIβmβ¦ right here,β Matthew countered while motioning to himself. βSo, now thatβs out of the way, where is he?β
Smoke yet again escaped the dragonβs nostrils to express his humorous feeling. βNot your location, child. You must find yourself. Who you are. Where you are supposed to be.β
βIβm not a child,β Matthew grumbled.

Decided to head online last night, and my image of this episode has been shattered. Apparently, Only Fools and Horses fans think it is one of the worst episodes around and it marked the downfall of the series for a while.
Am I missing something? Surely, this episode is great and is the exact sort of thing the Trotters would do?
Although, to be fair, this could be because OFAH never really had any 'low points'. Every episode is a memorable classic. Even the most recent three which, while not up to the standards of the episodes prior, were still hugely better than most stuff on TV.
I want to know your opinion one the 1981-2003 British comedy created by John Sullivan and starring David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Lennard Pearce and Buster Merryfield.
I use to watch Only fools and horses when I was younger I watched a few of them back the other day and this is weird in the first episode with Uncle Albert the one with Granddads funeral I remember Uncle Albert going to sit on Grandads green chair and Del telling him to get out off it and shouting at him it upset me as kid but now its not there he is now saying he cant go in his room .The strange thing is I was getting ready to skip forward the part because I did not like it and then surprised it is no longer there .
I was notified Monday that my Nmom has been diagnosed with fatty liver disease. No shock. I told her over two years ago that her random, sudden pains in the upper right abdomen (that often took her to her knees it was so severe), and incontinence of bowel, with yellow bowel movements, were indicative of liver damage.
My Nmother - according to her - is not an alcoholic.
And to be fair, how the fuck would I know, right? Iβm not a nurse β oh wait, yes I am. Well, okay Iβm a nurse but even then, what could I possibly understand. Itβs not like Iβm a recovering alcoholic β oh shit. Wait. Yes I am. Oops.
Unfortunately for both my Nmom and myself, her greatest source of irritation in our relationship (other than my sheer existence, the fact that I weigh > 118#, Iβm not married to the captain of my high schoolβs football team, nor am I βcoolβ) is any time I happen to be educated and/or experienced in a particular area.
As a psych nurse with a bachelors degree in social work who has 4+ years sober (by the grace of the Gβ as I understand Gβ), unfortunately I know about uh... just about everything my Nmom would need help with. But it just drives her further away.
She knows Iβm in recovery. She knows how I got and stay sober (I attend an openly secret international coffee club several times a month). She knows I would do anything I could to help her - if and only if she wanted to get better. Naturally, this knowledge is her kryptonite.
Imagine then, my irritation, when talking to one of my oldest friends about this shit situation (been NC with everyone but two sisters and my grandma since August-October last year) and she says βDude dude dude dude dude. No. You have to talk to your mom. ShEβs YoUr MoM. Youβll always regret it if you donβt. And donβt try to talk to her about alcohol or anything, really. Just every day stuff.β When I tried to explain that I donβt even talk to my Nmother about whether or not Iβm still a-freaking-live, she said βWell, you have to. Now that you know sheβs sick, just reach out to her.β So... suck it up, ignore the problem, and... talk to her why? Because itβs a cultural obligation?
No.
I know Iβm in a safe place here in this sub to say it: I cannot and absolutely will not have anything to do with my Nmom, especially not because of something as preventable as her own death by alcoholic cirrhosis (her oldest brother died of it when I was a child). My sobriety is the only reason I have a life worth keeping away from h

βIt is nice to have you back Uncle. I know that we didnβt see eye to eye when I was appointed Lord. But I hope you can now see that I have been doing my best to make things better for our house.β
His voice was drowned out by the sound of his Uncle Arthor drinking loudly from his cup of wine.
I see that indeed. But I will admit that I overreacted a bit. I have always been a bit thick headed. My time away from Ironrath helped clear things up. I missed our halls. I had to return home and take my rightful place.
βWell Uncle I am sure we could find a role for you here. What were you thinking?β
I was thinking I could be Sentinel?
Rickard looked up to his uncle who was laughing heartily.
I am kidding.
Rickard joined in his uncleβs laughter. And soon so did Mor Redsword who was standing behind Ashlei. Rickard soon felt himself finding it difficult to breathe. He started coughing. A deep dry cough at first but soon it was wet with blood. He looked up to Arthor who was now standing in front of him.
I was kidding. I am thinking Lord sounds much better donβt you.
Rickard took one last breath before falling over the table blood dripping down his face from all orifices of his face. Ashlei stood up and let out a blood chilling scream. It was only heard for a moment as Mors had stepped forward and covered her mouth with his hand.
Kill the bitch.
Mors drew his dagger and ran it across the womanβs throat. Blood sprayed across the table and Mors tossed her body by her husbandβs side.
Come we must help my son take the Keep.
Rowland Redsword was at the training grounds outside of Ironrath. He was watching as his replacement Roose Forrester was training a small group of soldiers. The man was good he thought. He had a long history of warfare and training and had already made some changes that Rowland himself never would have.
You should join in and show them how it is done.
Rowland turned and saw Sara Stark making her way over to the grounds.
βMy time is come and gone. Lady Stark.β
Sara turned and looked at the man.
**It was a good thought by Mors to have some off the recruits train with Arthorβs men. He said he hired them in his time away and most are green. Soon they will be up to speed. They are alread

Americans always reference Monty Python as what they believe as classic UK comedy but in the UK Only Fools has to be the most loved comedy. I never see it mentioned by an American. Why is this? Seems odd to me. Only Fools is clearly the superior show.
I said I'll get my suitcase from the van.

Iβve been internally debating with myself for days with what I should do. I (25F) have a close family member (19F), who we will call N, who has continuously fallen on hard times despite her young age. Both of her parents are uninvolved/drug addicts that canβt be bothered to even help themselves. I also have been out of the house since 18 so I understand how difficult it is to be independent, especially when not necessarily βtaughtβ how to be a functioning adult.
Iβve been living independently from roommates/boyfriends for 2 years now in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment. My toddler sleeps in the bedroom and I sleep on the living room couch. Iβm really not in any position financially or otherwise to help someone, but I felt like I couldnβt say no to N when she texted me crying asking to come over.. especially being that the two of us essentially have nobody else. I told N that she could stay with me for a few days, which somehow was translated into living together and finding a new apartment for us with more space.
Moving somewhere else could be nice, more space could be nice, having a sometimes-babysitter could be nice, but Iβm feeling very.... anxious about the whole situation. For starters, I wouldnβt necessarily call myself the cleanest person in the world, but I keep things tidy (as much as the toddler lets me). I wipe something up if I spill, pick something up if it drops, etc. N is either very unaware or just doesnβt care. I know she has struggled with mental illness in the past, I understand how depression can sometimes be mistranslated as laziness. In fairness she does do something if I mention it, like if I ask her to take the trash out. But my apartment is already so small and Iβm feeling overwhelmed with all the dishes in the sink, the tiny messes accumulating. Iβm already cleaning up after a toddler and myself all day, I donβt want any excess to take care of because I very easily get overwhelmed.
Weβre also both currently unemployed because of COVID, Iβm relying on my savings to get by. Weβre both searching for jobs. She has agreed to watch my kid during daytime shifts once I begin working again. (To be clear, babysitting to N is sitting him in front of the TV.) She is looking for evening shift work but so far she has been unsuccessful. Iβve had a few successful interviews and currently just waiting on my background check to be cleared to start. She hasnβt made any mention of helping to contribute to rent/water/electric. Itβs th

It's in the beginning of the episode heroes and villains and Del Boy says he's phoning president Reeves. Fast forward 2 minutes and Damien (the leader of the UK? It's never really explained.) Says listen Keanu. That's it. I thought this would be the best place to post it.
