A list of puns related to "The Prom (musical)"
Seriously, not only is the apparent movie they're making of the musical version of Matilda (a movie early enough in its process that if the pandemic doesn't get worse and "normal" happens soon, it could be released to theaters and I'd gladly see it in such) apparently slated to be a Netflix original but (I don't know if it's a movie or filmed-live thing but it doesn't matter) apparently the new musical Diana about the life and death of Princess Diana is going to premiere on Netflix before it ever makes it to the stage and I don't know how much of that was pandemic-related or not. Point being, it's cool we're having a movie musical renaissance, I just wish more of them were in theaters (at least once theaters could regularly open again) and Netflix stopped trying to grabby-hands all of them
I havenβt seen the musical, but Iβm watching the movie on Netflix and am loving it so far! How similar are the two, or what are the big differences?
Edit: to clarify, Iβm mostly interested in stage musicals but movies are good too
Seen "The Prom" on Netflix yet?

Hi Guys!
First off, I've posted this to r/lgbt already but I am posting it here to share the love! While the lights of the theater may be dimmed at the moment, their stories live on through us! <3
I know this show had closed last year but I just want to share the love. I live in Asia so I was unable to watch this live. With the power of bootlegs though, I was able to find a good copy and was able to watch! The show caught my attention when the kiss at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in 2018 made headlines for being the first LGBT kiss in the parade's history! Since then, I have been listening to the cast recordings and have been watching whatever clips I find on youtube about it. Now, after watching it, I'm back to the hype because of the message of love that it carries. I am here now to share that love to you guys too!
For those who don't know about the show (who am I kidding? I bet you guys know this too!), it was about four broadway actors that are looking to gain credibility by taking on a cause. Then through the power of Twitter, they saw a story on this girl named Emma Nolan from a small town in Indiana where she just wants to bring her girlfriend to the prom but was not allowed by the PTA. Suffice to say, with the meddling of the broadway actors, chaos ensued. Nonetheless, it ended up being really heartwarming and really happy especially since Emma was eventually able to bring her girlfriend (Alyssa Greene) to the prom.
The show was super funny, had great music, amazing choreography, and a wonderful performance by the cast! The chemistry between the two leads is crazy too!!
For those who have already watched and listened, lets listen again, share the love, and let's dance!
For those who still hasn't tried listening to the show, I hope you guys would give it a go! Listen to the Broadway cast recording on Spotify or watch clips on youtube or maybe look for a bootleg like I did and watch the whole thing too. It made me feel seen, represented and validated. I am bisexual. I am out to my friends and now I'm basically coming out to you guys (yaaaaaay!). In my family though, I still haven't. I'm from a deeply religious and conservative family and so it is been difficult for me to really express myself in front of them. With the covid pandemic, I'm basically forced to come back home. While I love my family very much, having to deal with gender stereotypes consistently pushed to my face or them condemning people for being LGBT is just heartb
