A list of puns related to "The Miracle of Forgiveness"
I just need to share this. My wife came home from church today in tears (our son and I had been home sick), because they had split the ward and she wouldnβt be in class with her sister anymore. To top it off, they called her to the primary. I tried to comfort her through this, which became a close-call argument on eternal families (she knows where I stand as an exmo).
And THEN, just a few hours later she reorganizes the bookshelf. She asks me what I think and I take a chance. I point out that Miracle of Forgiveness isnβt even TSCC endorsed anymore, and is incredibly homophobic. She said, βokay,β flipped through it for about a minute and then just dropped it in the trash can. I actually hesitated and felt bad, because a book is a book, but decided the trash was the lesser of two evils.
No book did more damage to my sexuality as a teen than Spencer W. Kimballβs little projection-fest.
Is there an official church position on the validity of the Miracle of Forgiveness in terms of its alignment with gospel principles and church policies?
I was given an assignment by a local church leader to read it and I had some concern with the assignment. I have since found out that it does not appear to be on the gospel library app and it is also problematic to order.
I have heard previously that the church has not officially said anything about it in terms of some of the problematic teachings but that it no longer emphasises it like it did in the past, such as when it was part of the βmissionary libraryβ
I would also appreciate anyone in priesthood leadership that is aware of any counsel that has been given from general authorities etc on whether or not to encourage members to read it etc
What a surprise! I just got the notification and then checked my account on FedLoan. All paid off! Close to $16k. Anyone out there who's waiting to hear back, just be patient and keep hope!
I want to assure that I have a hard copy in my library documenting the abusive and damaging doctrines taught by Mormon prophets. Many of these foul principles are still being taught to LDS children, including to my own grandkids.

Like, Jesus powers are not unique at all. A cornerstore dogma of Christianity is that when Jesus died he opened the gates of heaven. But in the Old Testament it is declared that one propher was...raptured (so to speak) into heaven in a blinding lightning storm. Jesus is not the original holder of the title son of man. In an almost verbatim manner, a prophet (I believe Daniel) is called to a house with a little girl that is dead. The prophet tells the family she is merely sleeping and resurrects her.
The entire Gospel and New Testament is just a copyrights infringement. It's not an original story.
Right up there with Eventually when it all crescendos at 3:30, and the guitar solo in Let it Happen. That part gets me every time.
Say what you want about Lost in Yesterday but Posthumous Forgiveness just has to be one of the best songs on the new album. If not it means the album is a masterpiece.
It's so heartfelt and personal. The drum patterns in the second half are impossible to follow but they sound so good. Kevin really poured his heart out into this song... The first half talks about how badly his dad messed him up, and the second about how badly he misses him. This song hit me hard.
"Fallin' out with a lover
You didn't know that I suffered
What a thing to discover
There was time to recover
One-on-one with each other
Just a boy and a father
What I'd give for another"
Hello reddit, we're Ally Beardsley and Grant O'Brien, and we're two cast members / writers for CollegeHumor and our new streaming service, Dropout.tv. We made a show together about drowning in student loan debt (Grant had about $90k in student loan debt, Ally had about $60k) and convincing our bosses to help us pay off a big chunk of that by giving each other ridiculous challenges and filming the whole thing. The first episode is up for free on the CollegeHumor Youtube channel (check it out here). It takes a lot of turns, and yes, was completely real and unscripted (and an emotional / physical nightmare!). Kinda continuing the CollegeHumor tradition of pranks, except with a lot more dark painful effects of late stage capitalism and being consumed by debt. New episodes are coming out every week on Wednesdays for the next couple months (you can get a free trial for Dropout here).
So if you've got questions about comedy, being broke, or testing the limits of friendship through elaborate filmed stunts that your financial future depends upon, go nuts. We'll be answering questions starting at 4 PM EST/1 PM PST but feel free to start piling them up!

2:47pst- We've got to go, guys. This was fun! Thanks for all the questions! Sorry we couldn't get to all of them. Check out the show on dropout.tv!
What a kind woman. The whole world agrees! She has so kindly offered to forgive her evil and churlish spawn in a beautifully maternal gesture of benevolent compassion.
Everybody knows what a wonderful person she is and the agony that has been inflicted upon her by her cruel and sociopathic offspring. Such an outpouring of heartfelt support for this poor, long-suffering, patient saint.
I've spent a lot of time recently listening to Mozart's greatest opera's and am tremendously enjoying them. One thing I noticed is that forgiveness seems to be an extremely important and frequently recurring theme, especially near the end of operas. It seems to come back in almost all of the famous ones. E.g.:
So, what gives? Why was this theme so important to Mozart? Was this very common in the time? Does it have to do with his freemasonry? Or was he trying to send a message to the emperor, because of events from his personal life? I'm sure this has been analyzed before but I wasn't really able to find anything myself so if anyone knows some good reading on this that is also much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
It makes me so emotional man.
Taking an objective look at the bible, we can clearly see that God is short-tempered, extremely jealous, insecure, needy, and vengeful. And if you look at the current state of the world, then if we assumed that there was a God controlling it all, we could only conclude that he mostly helps those who need it least. He is indifferent, or maybe even actively giving the shaft to those who truly need a helping hand.
So maybe Jesus grew up with an asshole father, and learned from that experience exactly how not to be.
When I asked Mother Nature for forgiveness on behalf of those who abuse her, she responded back in a language that can only be understood by the heart. My understanding is that natural disasters donβt occur because Mother Nature is lashing out at us or anything the way many people mistakenly believe; she does not operate on the emotional system of anger-vengeance/love-reward that humans do. There was without a shadow of a doubt pain, but there was not a thirst for vengeance. Some people may claim that Iβm only creating this pain in my head and Iβm also not communicating with anyone, but Iβm quite convinced of the fact itβs truly her pain the one Iβm feeling and we are indeed communicating. I only want to say that Mother Natureβs love towards her children is unconditional and forgiving and the depiction of her as being vengeful is absolutely not accurate. Much love and light to all my brothers and sisters
