A list of puns related to "The Highwaymen (country supergroup)"
Okay so last night I was thinking about the new group called βThe Highwomenβ with Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, and Amanda Shires. At first I didnβt like that they parodied the βThe Highwaymenβ name that was the superstar group of country musics greatest artists at the time, Waylon, Cash, Willie, and Kristoperson are some of the most famous country artists to ever live and their careers coming together to record the Highwaymen albums together were monumental for country music. Now this new group of highwomen donβt stand up to the legends of the Highwaymen but it made me think what if ever few decades a new group of βHighwaymenβ orβHighwomenβ was formed as almost a representation of that generations country artists. I see it as always being four artists, who each have there own successful career. I think this would be a great idea for bringing country musics bests artists of the generation together to record albums together. Anyways this was just what I was thinking about at 1am last night and I thought Iβd share it with the subreddit.
At the moment, these guys are my absolute favorite artists, and although Church's "The Outsiders" was a far cry from outlaw country, I could definitely see these 4 guys come together as more of an "alternative-outlaw" band, would be really interesting to see now that each artist as sort of established their sound. Eric Church with a more modern, contemporary sound, Chris Stapleton with a raw, bluesy style of country, Simpson with his almost psychedelic country sound and Jason with a softer rock sound, branching into a little more rock with "The Nashville Sound".
What are your guys' thoughts on this? Think this supergroup could be possible?

As the title says
I couldn't find the clip on Youtube, so can anyone remember what episode this happened on (or did I imagine it)? Dan & Jeff discussed the song Highwayman by the country supergroup The Highwaymen. I recall they lampooned the line "many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade", as well as Johnny Cash's out-of-place verse about flying a starship. Anyone have a recollection?

The song in question
Basically my theory is that each singer represents different regenerations of a Time Lord with the title of The Highwayman (much like Tennant and Smith played different regenerations of The Doctor)

Any suggestions are much appreciated and I will add them to a playlist to sort through!
Edit: Thanks so much for the response everyone! I just got home from work so I am too tired to go through and individually respond to everyone, but I will definitely give all of them a listen. Thank you so much for all of your suggestions, I've been in such a music rut lately and this will definitely help me out of it! Peace and love to you all :)
It can be a different style if it tells a similar story or has a similar mood if that makes sense.
I seem to rember Dan having a rant about the song Highwayman, and how absurd Johnny Cash's section is compared to all the others. I haven't been able to find it at all, is anyone able to point me in the right direction or am I misattributing someone else's rant to him?
