The newest release from tales from Vigilus was a bright spot among all the stories to come out of Vigilus so far. However, I thought it was interesting to bring the Sisters of Battle back to our attention. With the release of plastic sisters this year, I wonder if the Adepta Sororitas will show up in force on Vigilus to tie-in with current events or if this is just what it is, a bright spot in the usual grimdark.
With Abaddon making way to the planet, there's been a bit of community hype over who'd be able to actually fight him. Youtubers like Kirioth and Chapter Master Valrak have mentioned Dante, Calgar or even Guilliman himself going toe-to-toe, but Celestine has already fought Abaddon once during the Gathering Storm (at a disadvantage during the fight but still) and she's due for another resurrection as of her last appearance in the story.
With chaos, orks, genestealers, and now more chaos out the wazoo, there's plenty of purging to be done and it'd be a tidy way to tie-in both a new release and current events.
I've had several runs that are going extremely well end to these in one shot of damage, from wisps nonetheless. They have so much health/armor on top of everything else they do that having the ability to shut down your run in one hit is utterly unfair. You can't even get rid of them quickly, so you end up taking a hit that you can't even avoid because it's a wisp, an enemy which apparently can't really ever miss. I've seen maybe one wisp miss per a single run, and that's fine when they're normal enemies or even a normal elite, but when an enemy you can't avoid does enough damage to take out a loader with 800 hp, or an artificer with 1000 hp, that's too much. I don't know how this got past the testing phase in development.

I know that they venerate Astropaths (these days) for basking in the light of the Emperor, but I was wondering with Gathering Storm and recent lore developments if the chapter had given any opinions on the Saint.

I've been playing the Guild Wars franchise since the days of Prophecies (05-06). I've probably spent 10,000 hours across both GW1 & GW2 over a span of nearly 15 years, but I am also an MMO veteran. From WoW to Final Fantasy to Wildstar, I have played just about every major MMO out there. Needless to say, I have watched many a game completely change direction, alienate their most dedicated fans, and ultimately crash and burn.
In fact, I have so much experience with the communities surrounding MMOs on forums and fan sites, especially GW2, that I've come to notice trends in the life-cycles of games. While it's definitely true that there always exists a vocal minority of upset players drowning out the otherwise positive community, there is definitely value in keeping veterans satisfied, or if nothing else, working to actually understand your community and deliver on features that they want, set appropriate expectations, and maintain absolute transparency -- or at least as much as possible.
Some here may be familiar with another MMO (published by NCSoft to boot!) called Wildstar. I was very excited for Wildstar to launch when I learned about it. Having come off a period of depression after GW2 released, realizing that GW2's designed betrayed a lot of what I loved most about GW1, I was hopeful that Wildstar would fill that gaming void that GW2 left for me.
Over time, we've seen ArenaNet morph GW2 away from the initial design philosophy with more concrete class roles and niches, which in my opinion, were very welcome changes. I came back to GW2 shortly before Wildstar had the plug pulled and fell back in love with the game precisely because of the changes (elite specs, raids,etc - for the first time, GW2 felt challenging and deep).
This is an important comparison to make which I will come back to later when I talk about how this all intersects with demographics, player markets, business model, and the profit motive influencing game design principles.
Initially, Wildstar was marketed to a "hardcore" audience. 40 main raids, interesting build and customization features, active combat like GW2, and dynamic events -- the best of all worlds for people that missed the fun factor of the old WoW days with the polish and detail of a brand new IP. They launched with a sub model, no cash shop, and ultimately an idealistic understanding of how their player base would deal with their game design choices.

I was in college when I was presented to Celestine by a mutual friend. She was tall, good-looking and wore tight outfits more often than not. She had a boyfriend so I treated her like a friend only, having the casual conversation and hanging out once in a while.
Months later she started acting with over-confidence, as in slapping my bum in front of colleges and asking me to buy stuff for her. She no longer had a boyfriend and it seemed she wanted to get closer, so I would walk her home, take her to the movies and went on dating; she was not my all-time crush but I let her know that she was special for me. When I finally asked her to be my girlfriend it was more of a technicality since we had already kissed, but she turned me down. This came as a big surprise but nevertheless I got the hint and stop going after her.
Weeks later Celestine showed up again treating me to a movie night. I thought I had nothing to lose so we went, but once there she became distant: no kissing, no touching, no holding hands, no nothing. This went back and forth for some time: she would ask me to walk her home, take her to a bar, buy her things and in exchange I sometimes got to kiss and touch her, but others she just went distant and even left me stood up a couple of times... At the end of the day she just wanted me to be a provider for entertainment, safety and resources and I was not happy. I explained to her if she would not be my girlfriend then she should not ask me such favours and give mixed signals; I just wanted to go on with my life and distanced myself this time.
A month had passed when Celestine approached me to tell me how sorry she was. She confessed that she was being made fun by her family for letting me go; nevertheless she never told me the reason for being so distant. All this time I was like Oh, well! until she remembered me that I had promised to go to with her to a certain event at the theatre. I usually honour my word and this was not going to be the exception.
That evening I had decided I'd be the one being distant. She made me buy her ticket but I knew it would be worthwhile. She soon took notice of my coldness and quickly tried to hold hands, kiss, rest her head on my shoulders, place my arm on her legs and whatnot, but I would not budge. While we salivated at the massive gains that put holders made on the initial 25% downturn, many greedy WSB bears went in heavy on short term puts. The unlucky ones bought at SPY $220 then more at 230, 240, 250 and beyond. We are all feeling the pain of the short squeeze. Reading headline after headline of horrible economic news only to watch the market rally on nothing more than the Fed printer hurts our poor bear assholes. Many tissue hands, fake imposter bears have already sold, but not us. Our beautiful band of autistic retards are holding onto our puts no matter what. Today I hope to remind you of why we will be victorious in the end. Remember the Prophecy Two weeks ago, the smartest retard among us predicted what would happen. u/Variation-Separate told us that the current downturn would not continue. He predicted the market would fall to SPY $213 (it fell to 218 before JPOW intervened) before rising to $250-$270. Bears we can rejoice! We are at the top of the band now! Only a few more days until all the overwhelming economic indicators cause the 2nd half of the prophecy to be fulfilled. The next downturn will be worse says our messiah u/Variation-Separate. He says the market will fall all the way to SPY 182. So if you're a downtrodden bear who has already lost 75% of their put value like I have, have hope.
