A list of puns related to "Texas Ranger Division"
https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/TEX/2012-schedule-scores.shtml
Had a 5 game lead over Oakland. Proceeded to go 2-7 the last 9 games losing all 5 to Oakland, who ended up winning the division
Texas then lost to Baltimore in the Wild Card game as Josh Hamilton received multiple boo's, in what was his then final game as a Texas Ranger

AL West standings as of August 11th, 1994:
Team | W | L | Pct. | GB | Strk. |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Texas | 52 | 62 | .456 | -- | L6 |
Oakland | 51 | 63 | .447 | 1.0 | L2 |
Seattle | 49 | 63 | .438 | 2.0 | W6 |
California | 47 | 68 | .409 | 5.5 | W1 |
I randomly decided to check the 1994 standings, wondering how that season might have turned out if it had continued through 162 games... and I did a double-take upon seeing that Texas was 10 games under .500, yet still in first place.
To put that in perspective, the worst division-winning team in history was the 2005 Padres, who finished in 1st place with a mediocre 82-80 (.506) record. The fact that the Rangers were still in 1st place that late into the season, with that record... is mind-boggling. They had the 7th-worst record of any team, but it just so happened that three of the six teams with worse records were all in their division. In fact, the AL West represented the four worst teams in the American League.
Texas would have needed to go 29-19 (.608) in their final 48 games just to finish at .500 -- not impossible, but highly unlikely considering their already underwhelming record and their six-game losing streak before the strike. And the teams below them would have required an even more impressive comeback. It's pretty safe to say that, had the strike not interrupted the 1994 season, the AL West would have produced worst division-winner in MLB history, and likely the first sub-.500 team to reach the postseason. Not to mention that the Expos had the best record in baseball at that point... oh, what could have been.
Another interesting tidbit: The Houston Astros were in 2nd place in the NL Central at this time with a 66-49 (.574) record. If they were in the AL West like they are nowadays, they would have been leading the division by a whopping 13.5 games.
Tonight, the Islanders lost to the Sharks in OT, the Hurricanes lost to the Senators in regulation, the Capitals lost to the Blackhawks in the shootout, the Devils lost to the Wild, and the Blue Jackets lost to the Stars.
Yesterday, the Penguins lost to the Oilers, and in the only divisional game in this stretch, the Rangers beat the Flyers.
Two days ago, the Capitals blew a lead to the Panthers, the Devils lost to the Sharks, the Blue Jackets got shut out by the Predators, and the Hurricanes lost to the Stars.
Current streaks in the Metro:
Islanders L9
Flyers L7
Hurricanes L3
Penguins L3
Blue Jackets L3
Capitals L2
Devils L2
....
Rangers W4

This suit is in regard to the 506, 339, and 918 Patents. Links to documents below.
All have the following point in the complaint- Samsung had knowledge of the β339 Patent no later than August 2, 2021 via its access to Netlistβs patent portfolio docket.
What Netlist is asking for?
WHEREFORE, Netlist respectfully requests that this Court enter judgment in its favor ordering, finding, declaring, and/or awarding Netlist relief as follows:
A. that Samsung infringes the Patents-in-Suit;
B. all equitable relief the Court deems just and proper as a result of Samsungβs infringement;
C. an award of damages resulting from Samsungβs acts of infringement in accordance with 35 U.S.C. Β§ 284;
D. that Samsungβs infringement of the Patents-in-Suit is willful;
E. enhanced damages pursuant to 35 U.S.C. Β§ 284;
F. that this is an exceptional case and awarding Netlist its reasonable attorneysβ fees pursuant to 35 U.S.C. Β§ 285;
G. an accounting for acts of infringement and supplemental damages, without limitation, prejudgment and post-judgment interest; and
H. such other equitable relief which may be requested and to which Netlist is entitled.
After seeing A Brief History of the Texas Rangers, props to /u/TexasRangersFanatics on that, I thought it would be interesting to gather and record all the neat little things about the Texas Rangers franchise that are worth mentioning or remembering, because as informative as that video was, it still felt like there was so much more to be told. Now, I don't exactly expect a six-part documentary on the Rangers anytime soon, but a written compendium on the Texas Rangers is a good place to start and I'm just wondering what y'all think should be included in something like that.
Things along the lines of, but not limited to:
Jim Kern and his 1979 fourth-place Cy Young finish
"Mr. Ranger" Tom Grieve and his extensive role in the organization throughout his life
Ten Cent Beer Night
30-3
Adam Rosales
Kenny Rogers fights a camera guy
Marwin Gonzalez
Jose Canseco and his Big Bouncy Brain
The hour-long seventh-inning of ALDS Game 5
The 1977 Texas Rangers and Four Managers
A Helicopter crash before the season opener of the 1975 season
Beltre on-deck fiasco
Manager Ted Williams
1999 Gold Glove winner Rafael Palmeiro
Juan Gonzalez and the Yankees
David Clyde
And there is so much more that I just can't even think of right now, but this is very much a storied franchise with tales to tell and it's a shame it all gets glossed over in favor of one-game performances and on-field brawls.
Anything I might be missing, toss it in. Dutch Oven's 8 and 1/3 innings in Game 4. Sure, why not, we don't actually have a whole lot going on, we might need to include that. Anything worth mentioning, this is a compendium.
