A list of puns related to "Tent revival"
Anyone remember old tent services from the 70βs?
Bill Burr was on Pat McAfee Show today and talked about his time at the comedy tent at Roo. Talked about how awesome it was and then the shows he went to that were magical.
Would be great to see some sort of revival!
Does anyone remember the song βTwo Sets of Jonesββ from Big Tent Revival? My dad absolutely loved Big Tent Revival, and I knew every word to this song growing up. It popped into my head this morning and I started humming it while at work. I couldnβt quite remember all the lyrics so I Googled them. Hooo boy. Reading those as an adult makes me cringe. Especially since I have been deconverting for a good 10 years now and havenβt heard this song or thought of it since like the 90s.
For reference, Here are the lyrics
Doesn't have to be the entire central plot, but fairly focal. Likely a southern gothic type, based on the subject matter. I started The Boatman's Daughter, but at the time it was a little slow for me. Preferably set in historic time period over modern. I think Devil All the Time has a character that fits this bill, so that one is already on my list! I also really love Brother Justin from Carnivale, and that general vibe, so supernatural elements are good.
(Also if anyone knows some non-fiction history books about this topic, I'd appreciate it! I'm doing some reading to help flesh out a possible RPG character.)
I really like these two bands. Like really hillbilly with a lot of banjo. I like the absurdity of most of their songs too. What sub Genre would this be and what are other similar bands?
