Brazilians are celebrating the birth of a new spix's macaw and I seem to be the only one saddened by this fact

The species is considered extinct in the wild and there's an outgoing work aiming to reintroduce it in the wilds. People are celebrating this as something good, because they don't reproduce so easily, but no one thinks about the poor macaw that is going to be brought to this world, only to suffer. Am I crazy for thinking like that?

My fursona would be a Spix's-Macaw

A Spix's-Macaw is the main bird in the movie Rio. I love the movie and after doing a ton of research on the bird I am now extremely fascinated in it. They are now extinct in the wild but they are being treated in breeding centers. Whenever I watch the movie I have this odd feeling I just can't explain, it happens when I see Joel. Spix's-Macaws are just like me in a way with how they act. I hope I don't sound weird for posting this, I just had to get it off my chest. I think this is my new fursona.

The Spix's Macaw, the bird from "Rio" is tragically now extinct in the wild

It's news like this that makes my heart sink, and allows hopelessness to seep in. But there is a way to fight back. There is hope. In the short time we've had this subreddit, I've been informed of the Rainforest Trust, and their work in securing vital habitat, because of this I know that they're working to secure habitat for this bird to reintroduce a captive bred population here https://www.rainforesttrust.org/projects/urgent-land-purchase-for-the-spixs-macaw/
