A list of puns related to "South African cuisine"
I am Caribbean but have spent a lot of time in various African countries. Iβm looking for some Congolese pondu or Senegalese theibou dieun.. Iβd even nyam some curry goat! Anything!!! Please recommend authentic places.. even if itβs your grandmaβs house for dinner π©
The most African thing on the YouTube is preserved lemons. I think Josh should join the jollof wars at least. That would be interesting!

So this video has been making its rounds in Black social media circles. I did not know about the amount of African influence there was in Mexico. I assumed it was mostly European and Indigenous influence in Mexico. I didn't even think many slaves were brought to Mexico as I've never met an Afro Mexican from Mexico and I've met a lot of Mexicans lol. So now I'm curious, what other foods and things were African influenced in Mexico?
Hi all,
Just recently tried an African dish while on vacation and am wanting to try more closer to home. I know about Sahel on Central St. How is that place for those who have been? What other restaurants exist nearby?
any recommendations for any affordable places w african cuisine (i donβt mind any specific african cuisine, i am down to try any)? iβd be esp interested if yβall know of any good family owned ones bc iβd love to support them.
Interested in anything, technique, flavor profiles, trusted recipe websites. I've been reading about chillies, raw palm oil, yams. Very interested in pepper soup which seems like more of a concept. Thank you in advance
What ingredients are commonly used in South Indian cuisine?
So far Big Marioβs and Mean Sandwich have impressed me greatly, but desperately needing a good cheesesteak or bagel breakfast sandwich (pls someone tell me how to find pork roll in Seattle!) Had Einstein bros bagels for the first time last year and nearly cried because of how much it paled in comparison to back home.
Hi friends. I will be chatting on the "Cuisine Africa" radio show about what to expect on our tables this festive season across the broad topic of African culture. Have a listen and enjoyπ₯

Iβll go first, going on holiday - if the roof is made from thatch. That smell of thatch just smells so South African.
I like to make the dishes I read about in books - I am reading Vertigo by Sebald and he mentions stopping in an inn in Unterjoch and having bread soup. Does anyone know if this is the recipe he is referring to? When searching on google bread dumpling soup and bread and wine soup came up as well.
He mentions drinking Tyrollean wine with it, if that makes any difference.
Seems to be a popular dish in almost every Commonwealth nation. And reading up on the subject, it seems its popularity spread to other former U.K. colonies as far back as before the U.S. gained independence, even though food like curry doesn't seem to be a popular meal there. Which is weird, given the large number of Indian-Americans. But to stay on track, even if South Asian cuisine was immediately popular in what would eventually be Canada, did immigration from Pakistan in the late 20th century, perhaps, help to popularise this type of food?
Want to get out of my normal go to. Please share your best music by south african artists or producers
