A list of puns related to "Song of Songs 2"
I posted maybe a month ago and wanted to give you all an update on how the wedding went!
My absolutely stunning bride walked down the isle to "The Throne Room" song from A New Hope where Princess Leia gives the medals to Han and Luke.
My vows were:
"You are the love of my life. Ever since you walked into my life about 2.5 years ago, you have made literally every part of my life better and more beautiful, you have filled my life with a lot of laughter and love. You have this amazing indefinable quality to you that makes you so amazing and the perfect woman for me. I love you with all of my heart.
Even when we are apart for only a few hours, we tell each other how much we miss each other. Well today, I misses you.
I vow that I will always be there for you, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, but letโs make it richer, we are the Richardsons
I vow that I will do my best to keep you laughing, smiling and happy for the rest of our lives.
I vow that I will never give you up, I will never let you down, I will never run around and desert you, never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.
I vow I will love you with all of the love, for all of my days."
It was a beautiful evening, with lots of laughs, plenty of serious heartfelt moments and lots of happiness! My wife and I could not be happier and it was perfect! I hope you all had a good day, I sure did!
My friend has this dungeons and dragons character called Pijjin who is a religious pigeon (religion unspecified), and is composing a theme song for him. Trouble is, we need a name for this song, and we were hoping for it to be a pun linking any bird to any religious word or phrase.
Kinda bad example: 'Crow' + 'Communion' = 'Crowmunion"
Any religion-related word/phrase/concept is great, they can be from any real religion as long as it's kind of clear what it is :)
Thank you!!
Edit: Thanks so much guys, I'll definitely go with one of these, you've all been a big help :)
Some of these are border-line uncle jokes. I'm also an uncle. I keep all these jokes in my dadabase. Aka Google notes.
Some of these I got off of podcasts, the dad joke API, some from movies, but most are from this sub. Let me know if you want a source for a joke or if one of them was yours I'll give credit.

... keep reading on reddit โกBert and Ernie worked together as daytime radio hosts for over twenty years. They'd traded jokes, played pop music and generally made peoples lives a touch brighter as they trundled to their workplace.
Now though, there was a silence on the air. Ernie silently reread the fax from civil defense. As licensed broadcasters, they were legally obligated to alert the public, to tell them that several nuclear missile launches had occured, and that in a few minutes all the world's troubles would be over. But what was the point in that? To torture people with the knowledge of something they couldn't change?
Ernie looked up at Bert. Their eyes met and a decision was reached. Bert put on their most requested song, a sugary top 40 tune, while Ernie produced a bottle of bourbon from under the desk. As their producer banged on the locked studio coor, the colleagues toasted the end of a long career.
Bert. always the consummate professional, turned away as the first explosion split the horizon. He straightened his tie, tucked in his shirt and brushed his hair back. He would meat his fiery death with dignity.
He turned to Ernie and said in a quiet, resigned voice, "How do I look, Ernie?"
Ernie walked slowly over to his friend. He hugged his companion, released him and studied Bert's face. He saw the closeness they shared, all the long years tying them together, and the strength of their relationship. He took a deep breath, with tears streaming down his cheeks. He spoke in a quiet, broken tone:
"With your eyes, Bert."
And I said "Did you know there are four states of Adams?"
"Creepy, Cookie, Ookie, and Spooky."
And then I sung the Adams Family theme song
A teenage boy is getting ready to take his girlfriend to the prom. First he goes to rent a tux, but thereโs a long tux line at the shop and it takes forever.
Next, he has to get some flowers, so he heads over to the florist and thereโs a huge flower line there. He waits forever but eventually gets the flowers.
Then he heads out to rent a limo. Unfortunately, thereโs a large limo line at the rental office, but heโs patient and gets the job done.
Finally, the day of the prom comes. The two are dancing happily and his girlfriend is having a great time. When the song is over, she asks him to get her some punch, so he heads over to the punch table and thereโs no punchline.
A guy walks into a bar and orders a beer. "What's the special tonight?" he asks the bartender. "The chicken strip basket. It's a little known fact that Elvis Presley was a huge fan of chicken strips. He even wrote a song about them," the bartender says. "Love me Tender......"
But as anyone that has worked the night shift knows it can be a long and boring affair. No great threats to defend against. So this knight decided to improve himself, night after night he would bring books to read while he stood guard. Learning languages, math, philosophy. The smarter he gets the more he realizes that he will likely leave the world and be forgotten. In his depression he turns to music, learning instrument after instrument, style after style. Using his knowledge of math to create beautiful patterns and moving songs. He learns that it is they rhythm more than anything that draws people to a song and sets his nights to finding the rhythm that will be universally loved. Now, hundreds of years after his death, people the world over still remember Sir Cadian's Rhythm.
The ceremony is beautiful. The man and his wife are both struck with nostalgia and joy as they sit and remember their own wedding day. They hold hands throughout the ceremony, moved nearly to tears. Then, at the end of the ceremony, the new couple even walk out to the same song the husband and wife did at their wedding.
At the reception things get even better. The new bride comes up to both the man and his wife, thanks them for coming, and tells them that their relationship is what inspired her to be brave enough to get married.
Finally, all the struggles of real life melt away when, later in the evening, the newlyweds dedicate a song to the man and his wife. Invited onto the dance floor, they are shocked to hear the song they first danced to at their own wedding. After 4 minutes of perfect happiness, the wife asks her hubby to get her a drink and goes back to their table.
Not 20 seconds later, here comes her husband with two full glasses and a smile on his face. "That was fast, my Love," she tells him. The man looks lovingly at his wife and says, "just when we thought this night couldn't get any more perfect...
There is no punchline!"
This is not a traditional /r/dadjokes with a delivery and a punchline.
I just wanted all dad's, with kids around 2-6, to know that changing the name of Winnie the Pooh to Winnie the Poop will generate maniacal laughter from your kids. Especially if you combine it with singing the theme song from the movie.
As an added bonus, there is no statute of limitations on when you add the extra P. You can say: Winnie the Poop Winnie the Pooh...P Or Winnie the Pooh...... ...... .... P And your kids will laugh just as hard.
I've gone a full minute without saying the last P, while my kids hang on my every facial movement.
Enjoy
My dad when a foo fighters song comes on the radio:
โHave you ever heard of that band called the Flu Fighters?! Theyโre sick!โ
Good one dad, good one.
I started with Danger Zone, followed by I'm All Right, Return to Pooh Corner, and Conviction of the Heart. Finally after finishing Danny's Song, they kicked me off the stage for too many failed Loggins attempts.
The album's called "Songs of Salivation".

Sitting down having dinner with my wife and girls (1,3,4) and my three year old says โDo you know what my baby does?!โ And she made her doll do a backflip on the table. And almost as if instinct, I said โwell do you know what my baby does?! MY BABY TAKES THE MORNING TRAIN...โ and I hit them with the whole of Sheena Eastons song during dinner.
It was perfect.
We were talking about all of the songs with explicit lyrics on the new Ariana Grande album this morning and my 7-year-old son blurts out: โHer name should be Sweariana Grande!โ I like the way this kidโs brain is growing!
A high schooler wants to ask his best female friend to prom. Because theyโve been friends for so long, he really wants to make his โpromposalโ special. He talks to his friends, he talks to her friends, and spends days planning the perfect moment. Happily, she says yes!
Over the next couple of months, she sends him different styles and colors of ideas for her dress. He tells honestly that sheโs always been beautiful to him, and privately to himself, he is now realizing he has strong feelings for her. He knows he needs to tell her.
The night of the prom, heโs extremely anxious. What if he says something stupid? What if she laughs at him or doesnโt return his feelings? What if she thinks heโs a terrible dancer? All of these thoughts are swirling around in his mind as both their parents fuss over them and make them pose for a million photos.
They get to the prom and heโs even more anxious. Itโs dark, itโs loud, itโs crowded. They have to shout to be heard. But she grabs his hand, leads him to the dance floor, and they forget everything and everyone around them. A while later, as the songs have gotten slower, he can feel his heart pounding. He thinks itโs finally the right time. He leans down and whispers the truth in her ear, the truth about having loved her since they met in second grade. She starts to cry happy tears, saying sheโs always loved him too, and they kiss. As the song ends and changes to something fast again, he asks her if sheโd like to sit and have a drink. She says yes, could he please get her some punch?
He feels like heโs walking on clouds as he goes over to where the drinks and food are laid out. He wants to get back to her right away and hopes he doesnโt have to wait too long at the refreshments table.
He makes his way through the crowd, and is able to get their drinks and return to his waiting love within just a couple of minutes. Because, would you believe it?
There was no punch line.
My friend's dad passed away earlier this year, but pulled off a spectacular dad joke at his funeral. One of the songs he requested was 'here comes the sun' by the beetles...
...to be played as his son approached the front of the church to deliver his speech.
RIP David.
Me: โPandemic song? Beatles? Huh?โ
Son: โYou know... We All Live In a Yellow Quarantine...โ

Iโve never been more proud. The student has become the teacher.
Oh, and good luck getting that out of your head.
I had a little mishap with a pruning saw in the yard and asked my wife to patch my finger up. She's a nurse, so I figured she'd dress my wound better than I could. She started off with cleaning up the cut with a betadine swab.
Wife: "This might sting a little bit."
Me: Yup. Yup that stings.
Wife: Sing a song. It'll take your mind off of it.
Me: "Roooooxanne, you don't have to put on the red light,
Those days are over you don't have to sell your body to the night..."
Wife: sideways look
Me: "Roooooxanne, you don't have to wear that dress tonight,
Walk the streets for money you don't care if it's wrong or if it's right..."
Wife: sideways look
Me: "You know who sings that, right?"
Wife: "Yeah, the Police."
Me: "Who and the Police?"
Wife: "Sting?"
Me: "Yes it does."
Dad, do people on Reddit make fun of that sleeping lion song? Itโs just a meme away, a meme away.
He asks โHey, you got any grapes?โ The bartender replies โNo we donโt, this is a bar sir.โ The duck goes home. He comes back the next day and asks โHey, you got any grapes?โ The bartender yells at him and says โNo we donโt, and if you ask me again, Iโm gonna nail your feet to the floor!โ The duck goes home and comes back the next day. He asks โHey...you got any nails?โ โNo, we donโt have any nails.โ ... โYou got any grapes?โ
This is in honor of my dad, who says this to me all the time. He doesnโt even know what the duck song is.
After listening to it once again when Iโm a bit older, I realised that the song had lots of saxual content.
She thought the song was too sad for rollerskating. I completely agreed and said there should definitely be a separation of church and skate.
Me: You got the goods?

Friend (imperial): Actually, other places use the imperial system.
Me: Which other places?

Guy: I hate spam.
Me: I like sushi.
Me: I like sushi.
Me: I like sushi.
...
Someone: Son of a gun...
Someone Else: Now you've just pistoled me off!
Okay, I know these are not the greatest puns ever, but this is my first post in this subreddit. Anyway, now here are the explanations:
Joke 1 - An alloy of carbon and iron is popularly referred to as steel, and stainless steel costs $2.41, in which the item receives a 58.51% reduction in cost, which is a mighty bargain, also known as a steal.
Joke 2 - Boxing is a sport in which your only goal is to knock your opponent out through a series of punches. The ending or twist of a joke is commonly referred to as the punchline of said joke.
Joke 3 - Check out Kendrick Lamar's DNA song.
Joke 4 - Troops and personnel of the Galactic Empire from Star Wars are commonly referred to as the Imperials.
Joke 5 - Spam musubi, or just spam, is a type of sushi. On the internet, spam is referred to as the repetition of a specific message, especially when emailing, to annoy or advertise a product/website to someone.
Joke 6 - The phrase, "Son of a gun", is a friendlier alternative to the phrase, "Son of a bitch!" Also, when you annoy someone, that means that you pissed them off, which sounds a bit like "pistoled".

Friend 1: I love that song!
Friend 2: Yeah itโs a bop.
Me: Yeah i heard that it was number one at the BOPS office.
Both friends: glares of pure hatred
I will now take suggestions on how to be more sensitive to deaf people. I'm all ears!
Whenever the Alice in Chains song King of the Kats comes on I tell my son that I'm the king of the cats. It drives him crazy. He's made it his personal mission to tell me I'm not the king of the cats and preempts me with a "Dad, you're not the king of the cats!" Whenever it comes on. This has been going on a couple of months.
Fast forward to present day. We're driving and the infamous song gets shuffled on.
He says, "You're not the king of the cats."
I reply, "Then why does every cat we meet call me your majesty?"
He drops this gem, "They don't say that, and if they did, they'd say your meowjesty."
I couldn't be more proud.
In Wal-mart, looking for my girlfriend, and trying to practice my spanish
I look around and say "donde estan, donde estan, donde estan", kind of thinking about this song I heard years ago.
She goes, what does "donde estan mean?"
I say, well it sort of means "where are you, or where are they? I'm looking for your mom and your sister."
Her reply was "I donde estahnd what your saying"
'Till Lindemann has finished the lyrics.
Explanation: Till Lindemann is the vocalist of the band, they usually have lyrics in their songs so they will have to be finished to be included in the album.
Every year for the past few years, Iโve written music for a tuba ensemble for a summer band camp. Last yearโs music was titled โTubaChristmas in July,โ which had โHallelujahโ by Pentatonix, โCarol of the Bells,โ โYouโre a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,โ and โHave Yourself a Merry TubaChristmas.โ This year Iโm about 90% sure weโre doing rock/classic rock. So far I have โBohemian Rhapsodyโ by Queen, โPaint It, Blackโ by The Rolling Stones, โLivinโ on a Prayerโ by Bon Jovi, โDonโt Stop Believinโโ by Journey, and some fifth song I havenโt chosen yet (BTW Iโm open to song ideas).
I need a pun that mixes Tuba with Rock or with Classic Rock. Similar to how TubaChristmas in July doesnโt include song names, but you know itโs Christmas music on tubas.
While waiting for the final song of my niece's orchestra concert to begin the conductor turns to the audience and says "one moment please, we are missing our basoonist." Without skipping a beat I say "WELL HE BETTER GET HERE SOONIST!" My family was unimpressed.
...He could hear from the music and the roar of all the people, it sounded like it was going to be a lot of fun so he got in line to buy a ticket. Once inside he ran into Sally, whom he'd had a massive crush on since grade 3, seven long years ago. They danced up a storm all night, and he felt like tonight was going to "end well". 10 or 15 songs later they had worked up quite a thirst. They meandered over to the drink table and asked the guy in front of them if this was the line to get a drink, and he replied "That's right, this is the punchline".
During our Skype call last night:
Her: "Hey, you should sing me a song."
Me: "Ok! Here's my favorite song."
Me: "..."
Me: "..."
Me: "..."
Her: "Well, are you going to start?"
Me: "I already did. I'm singing the Sound of Silence!"
No matter how stupid the jokes are, the groans are always worth it.
On the other side was someone doing the same, and behind me was a person on a full drum kit. In the car in front was a guy with a mic screaming out some kind of song. None of the cars were moving, they were all just rocking out playing music. It was at that moment that I realised I was stuck in the middle of a traffic jam.
An old beekeeper had been raising bees for years. He'd had many bees he gave names to, like Buzz or Stripe or Sting. He got a kick out of naming them and he would spend hours with them crawling on his hands, looking at them, holding them gently and humming little songs.
One year, the hive had a new queen, and she was the most magnificent thing he'd ever seen. He usually gave them clever names like Honey, but this one was just too gorgeous for that. He named her Beauty, and he would hum to her everyday as the sun went down.
One day, during a particularly beautiful sunset, the old man was watching his queen as she peddled around in the palm of his hand, singing to her gently, when a gust of wind suddenly blew some debris toward his face. Without thinking, he reacted, moving his hands fast toward his face, and smashed the queen right into his own eye. And so I guess what they say is true, Beauty really is in the eye of the bee holder.
