A list of puns related to "Shawn Grate"
So I was on YouTube and came across a video explaining the case of Shawn grate the serial killer from Ohio who was active from 2005 till 2016. His story isnβt unlike most other serial killers except for a couple small details that I thought were absolutely terrifying. He was previously arrested for assault and other petty crimes before being arrested initially for kidnapping a girl and holding her hostage for 3 days. The girl escaped the bindings he loved her in stole his cellphone while he was asleep and managed to call the police while still in the room with him. The 911 call is chilling. She whispers the whole time and at one point she thinks she woke him up and the fear in her voice is unprecedented. Itβs truly creepy. The details that I think would make for an interesting story by you is the fact that his previous arrest were with a couple ex girlfriends. In both instances he hid under the couch and waited for them to get home. The second time he had literally beat his ex Gf up and she talked him into taking her to the hospital. While at the hospital she told them she had fallen down the stairs. That was while he was still in the room. Once he left the room she told the hospital staff what really happened. The police were called and when they got there he had escaped. 5 days later the girl goes into her house and she said she could tell someone was in her house. There was some food missing and in different places. The middle part of the couch was up and she didnβt leave it up. She had an extremely uneasy feeling and again just knew that someone was there. She calls the police. They show up search the house and find him in the couch. He was waiting on her. The scariest part is thatβs not the first time he has done that and may not have been the last. He went on to kill 5 people that we know of. I hope you will cover this because I think itβs extremely fascinating. If you do my name is Trey Pettyjohn. I look forward to hearing from you or watching a video with this story. Have a great weekend.

On last night's episode of Evil Lives Here, "I Didn't Know It Was Blood," the actor who played killer Shawn Grate looked SO FAMILIAR. I cannot find his name anywhere; Google hasn't helped and even IMDb isn't listing it yet. Does anyone know who that was?
On Sept 13th, 2016 in Ashland County, Ohio a 911 call was placed by a terrified women seeking help escaping her captor. She didn't know her exact location, but was able to stay on the phone for 17 minutes allowing police to arrest her captor and rescue her. After Shawn Grate's arrest, more bodies were discovered in the house he had been staying and police quickly realized they had arrested a serial killer. The remains of Stacey Stanley (who had been reported missing on Sept 8th,2016 by her son) and Elizabeth Griffith, a woman struggling with paranoid schizophrenia who had last spoken with a mental health counselor on Aug 16th, 2016, were discovered at the house on Covert Court. As news spread locally about his arrest, many women in the area came forward with stories of stalker-like behavior and odd encounters with Shawn Grate. As police began to dig deeper, it turned out that these were not his first murders.
As details of Shawn Grate's past were put together through interviews and detective work, he confessed to another murder in neigboring Richland County. Candice Cunningham was killed in Mansfield in June 2016. Her remains were discovered near a burned-out Madison Township house in September of 2016 with information provided by Grate. HIs arrest also prompted question about Rebekah Leicy, who struggled with addiction and had been dumped off a county road in March of 2015 after a fatal overdose. Both of these women had been in relationships with Grate at the time of their deaths.
But then Grate surprised police by confessing to yet another murder, that he claimed was his first murder, a victim who to this day remains unidentified.
MARION COUNTY JANE DOE - NAMUS 4725:
On March 10th, 2007, Larry Higgins Jr. was out looking for scrap metal near Victory Road. Instead he found a skull. Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey announced at a press conference that they were certain only that the skeleton was that of a young woman. No matches were made with her info in the NCIC database.
In 2016, investigators revealed that Shawn Grate had confessed to murdering her in 2005 but could not recall her name. He stated that he had returned to the site where he dumped the body later to burn any evidence and this information had never been published about the discovery of this jane Doe, lending credence to his confession.
Details from the AZ Central article:
The woman, who Grate reportedly said was 26, was selling magazine subscriptions in Marion County, and Grate's

I have 5 letters from him dating from February to September of this year and I am anticipating a 6th letter soon. Nothing super interesting, but I thought somebody here might be interested in seeing them nonetheless! I figured that I would make this post and later posts with scans of the letters if there is enough interest in seeing/reading them.

Back in June authorities were able to use DNA to identify Dana Lowery as the Jane Doe in the Shawn Grate case.
Shawn Grate was charged last week with murder and kidnapping, discovered only because the woman he was holding after tying her up in an abandoned house in Ashland County, Ohio, managed to get his cellphone, call 911 and whisper, desperately, βIβve been kidnapped.β
Two bodies were found in the house: Stacey Stanley, 43, who was beaten to death, and Elizabeth Griffin, 29.
He also confessed to two other killings: Candice Cunningham, 29, and Rebekah Leicy, who police originally thought died of an overdose but he told them that he had strangled her.
The first person he killed has not been identified yet. Police found her body in 2007.
