A list of puns related to "Serology"
Christine Johnston, MD, MPH, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Associate Director, Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program, and Associate Medical Director, UW Virology Research Clinic and learned about changes to herpes simplex virus (HSV) guidelines and serology.

People who had both vaccination overseas, how long does the serology result takes to update on the TraceTogether App?
I totally forgot about it and my vaccination status went to not vaccinated in the app. π€‘
Presumably, if I have a lot antibodies for a virus floating around - I'd be better prepared (on average) to avoid infection, won't I?

Serology testing shows if you have had covid before and you have developed the anti bodies to it.
I looked into booking this and I had to get a referral from my GP and it would cost around $120 because it is not government funded.
How can the government be so mind blowingly stupid?
Literally another way to help our covid situation into the future....
When I worked at a hospital, they wouldn't let me in the door without checking my titers. How are nurses getting past this check? Are hospitals so desperate for nurses now that they've dropped the immunization requirements?
With media talk of vaccine protection decreasing in regards to protecting against severe disease, it would make sense to have a test that indicates whether you have qualitatively measurable T-cells/B-cells.
Note : I do not believe vaccine efficacy is decreasing, and Data coming from Israel is a testament to that. Look over covid-datascience' post on the Simpson Paradox for more info.
While I understand one could simply draw some blood if they were curious about t-cell/b-cell titers, Wouldn't it make sense/isn't there value in having mass production of affordable rapid serology tests that are looking specifically for t-cells/b-cells.
Eventually the FDA will approve a 3rd dose for everyone, but i'm not sure it would be beneficial for most if:
And
I.e. one that accounts for occured mutations.
Thoughts/Discussion encouraged.
The Health Ministry announced that those who have received only one or two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible, as of Monday, for the Green Passport, if they present a designated serology test called anti-N, which will show they have previously contracted the virus. Until now, Israelis who contracted COVID-19 before being vaccinated, but had no medical proof to that effect, were ineligible for the Recovery Certificate and Green Pass.
The anti-N test is designed to locate IgG antibodies that work against the virusβs N protein. The level of these antibodies rises after exposure to the virus itself. The test was recently recognized by the Health Ministry and put into use. The test can be taken at any hospital at the patientβs cost, and does not require a doctorβs referral. Until now, those who had received one or two doses of the vaccine were ineligible for a Recovery Certificate with an anti-S serology test, as that test locates IgG antibodies which work against the S protein of the virus, and these antibodies appear following both infection and the vaccine.
The S and N proteins are the two antigens that were used to develop serology tests to identify the coronavirusβ antibodies. The S protein, known as the Spike, is the virusβs capsid protein which it uses to bind with cells. The N protein, which stands for Nucleocapsid protein, is an intracellular protein involved in the virusβ creation and replication processes. The antibodies that neutralize the virus are those that target the S protein and that is why the COVID-19 vaccines target it. Therefore, antibodies targeting the N protein will appear only following infection and not in uninfected vaccinated people.

Basically title. Otherwise could someone provide the clinicβs email address so I could ask?
As the post says, is this actually legal under CLIA?
It's something I have been wondering.
Hey guys
Anybody know where I can do a COVID Antibody Serology test as a walk-in or simple registration on the Internet? I tried Sidra's website but it says 500 riyals for the test -_-
Please advise as this is somewhat urgent.
PR here, finally looking to come home.
Iβm fully vaccinated and recovered from Covid two months ago.
If I get this test my quarantine can be 7 days.
How can I get this done if Iβm immediately put into quarantine?
The EPPIcenter at UCSF is looking for a team member. We are a wet/dry research center partnering across Africa to support scientists & policy makers in developing sustained science based decision making to address infectious disease & malaria. More about us here https://eppicenter.ucsf.edu . (check out the pubs and people)
Our Github is all over at the moment, mostly living on personal pages (see the people section) eventually here https://github.com/EPPIcenter
The candidate will apply computational procedures to next-generation sequence (NGS) data related to pathogen genomics. They will implement or modify existing algorithms to analyze genetic data in the context of spatial, transmission, or other epidemiologic contexts, including population genetics and longitudinal data. Presents visualizations of data or results from processed data.
We are super nice, super fast moving team, living in foggy San Francisco. Looking for someone who has passion, curiosity, and can stitch together a story when the have access to loads of data, and a herd of content experts. A love of acronyms is a perceived plus in our academic subculture.

Hey there, I am a HK resident returning from the US. I see that if you are fully vaccinated and with a positive result proof of the serology antibody test only from a recognized lab in HK then you only have to stay in the hotel for seven days. I got my vaccines here in the US after leaving HK. How do I get my antibody test done by a HK lab? Do they do it at the airport or at your quarantine hotel? Does it mean I still have to book a 14 day hotel while waiting for my result ?
Please orient yourself before memorizing them (Watch Dirty's video on YT)
Acute: SEMA
Chronic: SEGC
Resolved: GG (cs)
Immunization: G
Window: M
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me break it down:
SEMA is a girl's name: s and e are the HbsAg,HbeAg. M for IgM (HbcAB), A for acute
SEGC ~ 'sexy': s and e are the HbsAg,HbeAg. G for IgG (HbcAB), C for chronic
GG (When you win a game in csgo, you say GG) (win~resolve): IgG (HbcAB), IgG (HbsAB).
G (Logic tbh): IgG (HbsAB). or just memorize " IMG" lol
M (Mc Wuffin): IgM (HbcAb) (Instead of Mc Muffin lol)
Best of luck lads!!
Traveling to Hong Kong from United States -
Now that Hong Kong has lowered quarantine restrictions for HK residents to go home, has anyone gone?
I am a fully vaccinated individual and I'd like to only quarantine for 7 days instead of the 14 days. However, the only part I am unsure of in regards to that piece is the serology test you have to obtain in Hong Kong (and at the airport because of quarantine).
Has anyone gone back and experienced this?
