Okay so, I get that Hybe wants to expand their company but I honestly think that having Scooter Braun on board was a bad business deal on their side and mostly benefits Scooter himself. Their name means a lot in Asia and will give him a huge advantage to getting future clients to global fame. However, I don't think Scooter will do the same for Hybe artists...
Scooter has a bad habit of failing his clients constantly and being incredibly self centered, which is why I don't understand why you would want to put him as the Co-CEO of HYBE America... he literally doesn't give a shit about his artists well being.
I remember seeing a listing for Hybe America on LinkedIn a couple months ago looking people with a degree in social work or psychology and thank god they are hiring someone like that for their future artists cause I know damn well Scooter isn't going to put his artists health first (looking at the situation with Ariana when she first fired him before hiring him again, her hiatus and him forcing her to release ghosting).
Talking about situations with Ariana, I don't feel comfortable seeing him working with minorities, especially with young Asian artists in the future due to what he and Ari did to Kris Wu (here is an article, you can look up Kris wu and Ariana Grande and many articles and tiktok videos come up. form your own opinion and do your own research on this topic cause I'm just mentioning it briefly) .It also doesn't sit right with me that some of his white artist use black culture to make a profit.
BUT RIGHT! He also has POC clients!! Except we don't really hear about quavo, social house and yg cause he literally gives them no promotion (I'm not gonna count having them collab with Ariana and Justin as promotion... that's a one time thing, that's not enough !!! ) At least JBalvin, CL and Psy are successful right..but they literally already had their brand build up when they signed with him. Is Scooter Braun deliberately trying to sabotage Demi Lovato's career as a legitimate female pop star?
There are only a handful of successful female pop stars in the market right now who consistently put out records that land in the top five and spawn critically-successful top 20 singles. There are even a smaller number of these singers who have tremendous vocal ability, of those that overlap... well, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato are probably the only two with Ariana Grande easily being the more successful of the two.
They now share the same manager. And yet.... one does not look like the other.
This era has, frankly put, been a complete and utter mess thus far. There are so many things to list, that I'm literally going to list them.
- Hosting the People Choice Awards? Really? I mean... The People's Choice Awards. THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS, people! Come on, man!
- The roll-out of the docuseries, Dancing with the Devil, essentially killed ALL interest in actually WATCHING it (except for fans) because EVERY SINGLE bit of information that was revealed in the docuseries was revealed prior to the episodes airing in interview after interview.
- Continuing on that subject. One of the things revealed prior to the release was her Califonria sober approach. Demi made it very clear IN THE DOCUSERIES that doing alcohol and marijuana in moderation was HER CHOICE, but that she was talking to her case worker, her therapist. More importantly, it was made very clear that this is NOT a choice for everyone. It is NOT a one size fits all. She was very clear about that. There were also dissenting views on her approach. It was handled really well in the docuseries.
- Going back to point #1 and #2, the fact that everything -- and I mean freaking EVERYTHING! -- was revealed prior to the docuseries dropping including her California Sober approach meant that it had already been completely blared all over social media, message boards, thought pieces, opinion articles. So, Demi had been ripped apart and back because what had been put out there was that Demi Lovato was no longer sober despite a near-death drug and alcohol overdose. Going 'California Sober' was a bad, bad decision. No matter how well it was handled in the docu-series, opinions were already set in stone on her choice because the information on her choice was already out there. Put out there by Demi herself and her team, i.e., a team led by Scooter Braun.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around HYBE's new deal with Ithaca Holdings and Scooter Braun, so I just wanted to clear some stuff up. Note - I wrote this from a BTS perspective, but it applies to all artists under HYBE (including BH Music, Source, Pledis, and KOZ artists).
EDIT: I found these 2 really good threads that translate info from HYBE's official public documents and go much more in depth about the new deal than my post. To summarize the threads, HYBE just bought Ithaca Holdings through its subsidiary BH America. Scooter (owner of Ithaca) was given less than 1% of shares in HYBE (less than the number of shares the BTS members have in total - they have about 1.4% together). He is a director on HYBE's board because 2 other directors left; his purpose is to represent shareholders' interests, and he is not involved in the management of the company and its subsidiaries. He also only has 1 vote on the board (so not much influence in the long run).
Also, before the acquisition, HYBE made BH Music a completely independent, private company (which will go into effect on July 1). BH Music is still fully a subsidiary of HYBE, but the artists are now totally separate. BH Music operates as its own label with complete creative control and no interference from outside (because no one can buy shares in the company). BH Music will have its own CEO/executives separate from HYBE and will be able to run independently from HYBE. BHM still uses HYBE's resources, and HYBE still makes profits from BHM, but their operations are separate. This is very good because it protects BTS and BHM artists from HYBE's deals.
Basically, this means Scooter has little to no power over HYBE, BH Music, and BTS (HYBE made sure of that before going forward with the deal). He helps with American promotions, and that's it. Read the rest of the comment if you want a clearer breakdown.
Scooter Braun is an important guy in the American music industry. He manages artists like Justin and Ariana and has a LOT of connections. He's not known to be a very good person (he sabotages other artists, does payola, and he stole Taylor Swift's masters).
