A list of puns related to "Sconce"
Edit: not electrocuted, but shocked
This happened in Idaho during a cross-country move, so it was not in a state they live in.
Context: Her hand clamped on the wire and had to be yanked off after being electrocuted. The blood vessels may be injured and they had to cut away tissue from her little hand. They wonβt know the true damage until they see a burn specialist once at their final destination. Overall very traumatic but thankfully she did not die.
At first the hotel manager refused to believe they were telling the truth, until he saw her wounds and the wire. They absolutely will not be able to afford specialist and future surgeries.
They want to seek legal counsel but arenβt sure if they should try to find someone in the state it happened or in the state that they are moving to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Needed help as our electrician is not sure how to install this non-standard wall sconce. The holder is 3 1/4 inches. Electrician is not user what to put in the wall to hold it. Any recommendations on how to solve for this? Here is a link to the light

Let me know what you have
Hey all, so I installed two sconces in a room on an exterior wall that have no power. I've been using remote controlled LED pucks for the light source for about a year, but they are too cold, probably 3000+ and not bright enough at 55 lumens.
It's an exterior wall and I'd prefer not to pay to install hard wired, these are just additional ambience lights. Any suggestions for different pucks or something else I could put in there? Speakeasy feel so warm light and they don't need to be super bright but the ones I have now are too dim. Thanks in advance.
I'm starting a remodel of my loft and I'm shopping for light fixtures. My shopping list is:
- A wall light for my bedroom
- A wall light for my bathroom
- Four probably-smaller wall lights for my bathroom mirrors
- A wall light or ceiling light for the hallway to the bathroom
- A chandelier or pendant for my kitchen
- Some sort of art light for a longer wall
My tastes run toward bold contemporary and I really love things like the Kuzco Synergy, Modern Forms Chaos, and things that are swoopy and/or geometric. I spent about an hour n a fabulous local lighting store last weekend oohing and aahing over things and snapping photos of fixtures, and the manager recommended several companies whose online catalogs I should pore over.
The problem is that I have a very strong preference for bright white lights and almost everything I can find is 3000K. Kuzco will custom make their fixtures in 5K but I've already checked with them and my order is too small. I'd be willing to settle for 4K fixtures but those are hard to come by too.
Thus, I'm trying to understand what my options are. Should I just look for fixtures with replaceable bulbs? I briefly considered buying fixtures and LED tape and I'd totally do that if it was one fixture but I don't have the patience to do as many as I would need. Are there companies that sell interesting fixtures and tape and let you assemble them yourself, or that do it for you? Are there other things I should consider?
Hey Hivemind, hoping some of you can help me make an educated guess as to the material these sconces are made from.
Background: Sconces are in my home built in 1936. Was hoping they'd be brass or something that color, but when I scraped a small patch, the material appeared silver in color. Wondering if years covered in paint could have changed the metal color, or if this had some sort of porcelain enamel that I scraped off.
Appreciate your thoughts!
Per my wife's request I am trying to add two new sconces to the bedroom that are each wired to an existing switched half-hot outlet. I haven't done much DIY electrical work though, except for replacing existing outlets. When I opened up the outlets I found two sets of 3-wire cable, while the sconce only requires 2-wire (plus ground of course).
I was thinking that I could easily run a 2 wire cable up the stud bay, which would be connected to the load side of the switched outlet. Is that correct? Can I simply use wire nuts and splice the neutral and hot from the existing 3-wire on the right side of the outlet to lead up to the sconce? I have checked online for wiring diagrams of this scenario but they all seem to be different than my current wiring so I'm unsure how to proceed.
It is also confusing to me that the switched half of the outlet is on the top of the left outlet, while it's on the bottom of the right outlet. Does this indicate anything?

Just a quick question re fixture boxes. I opened up my entire corridor wall to replace Sheetrock and am adding wall sconces. So the electrical boxes for sconces have to be the round box types? Also any jigs for cutting the rounds holes that anyone can recommend?
