A list of puns related to "San Rafael Swell"
I am going to be driving out to Utah to do a 3 day bikepacking trip after thanksgiving. Was looking at a couple routes on bikepacking.com but found one on ridewithgps seemed really fun. But there wasn't any information on camping sites, water drops, permits etc. Wonder if anyone has done this route and has advice on it? Thanks!!! (This is a repost as my original post got backdated several daysβ¦)
Hi everyone, I'm new to the group so I'll start off by introducing myself. I'm Adam an avid outdoorsman who loves primitive campsites and love being off the beaten track. I'm from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania so utah is quite the hike (no pun intended)
Anyways, in about three weeks I'll be in the Beehive State and my small group of friends and I are planning on making the trip to the wedge overlook for a few nights of camping near the rim. We'll be coming from the east near Green River, UT. My question to anyone who has visited or spent time there is if I'm trying to avoid any crowds or camp in a more private place, where should I go? We are primitive campers so no ammenties are needed and we will be traveling in my 4x4 Tacoma. If you have any other info you'd like to share feel free to and I'd be happy to hear any insight on this area. Thanks!

In October 2020 I headed to the Utah desert for some backpacking, mountain biking, and bikepacking. The end of my trip finished with a 3 day bikepacking trip on the Stone House Lands Loop route. The route was beautiful.
Big thanks to Seth Kruckenberg, Patrick Hendry, and Neil and Lindsay Beltchenko for developing this beautiful route and to bikepacking.com for publishing the route.
Doing the trip in 3 days was the right amount of challenge for me. I didn't hit all the little detours on the route and as you'll see in the video I cut off a small section at the end.. I underestimated the terrain, and probably slightly overestimated my fitness.
If I were to do the route again here is what I would do differently:
