May the best answer win.
When I was in Egypt I had to adjust to Sunday being the first day of the week with a Friday-Saturday weekend and since Judaism seems to place no special significance on Sunday either, what caused Christianity to place a special significance on Sunday when the other two major Abrahamic religions don't?
It's an interesting take on the Sabbath from another Christian brother.
Which was better? Dio or Ozzy?
Dio was pretty damn good.
In reference to Kanye's upcoming performance at Joel Osteens church
In the original Iron Man movie from 2008, the song is played over the end credits, and kind of spoils the MCU until Age of Ultron. The plot of the song goes, ""Iron Man" is about a man who travels to the future and witnesses the Apocalypse. On his way back, he is caught in Earth's magnetic field, and turned to steel. When he comes back, he tries to warn the people about the Apocalypse, but they do not believe him, and shun him, so he takes his revenge by killing them all, thus bringing about the Apocalypse he saw."
So here is my connection
Avengers: Tony sees the massive fleet of aliens ready to destroy earth through the portal, he makes it back to earth but just barely, almost getting trapped in space. He sees the Apocalypse and is sent back to earth through a portal, resembling the magnetic field.
Iron Man 3: He develops PTSD, and, knowing the capability of the alien forces, becomes paranoid. His best friend and girlfriend don't get why he's acting this way. People do not understand his worries.
Avengers: Age of Ultron: Tony warns his fellow Avengers about what could happen if the aliens or some other force from space comes to earth, nobody but Banner listens to him and together they create Ultron, designed to protect the earth. However, Ultron (almost) brings about the apocalypse. He warns about the oncoming danger and isn't listened to. He (with Banner) builds the very thing that almost ends all life on earth.
It's a loose connection but I find it cool
I realize that the Sabbath was supposed to be a day of rest and peace from the rest of the week. However, i feel like it never really had that effect for me. Instead it was a day to squeeze my fat behind in a suit and tie and head to church for another helping of shame, guilt, and mind numbing boredom. To say nothing regarding all the extra time that callings would require.
Iβd also have anxiety from having one less day of the week to be productive and get things done. After all, working and shopping is frowned upon on the Lawdβs Day, so you better squeeze it in during the work week or on Saturday, so you can sit around and do nothing of any real consequence on Sunday. Feels good to have the freedom and peace to do what I want, and also spend more quality time together as a family.
Was hanging out with a friend last night whose also exSDA and we were talking about our experiences in the church and this is one of the memories that stick out with me.
My family was usually best described as American working class in a very middle/ upper-middle class church. So we kids were never dressed in the fanciest clothes but we were always presentable but I have memories of being told I should "dress my best for jesus" and I was already wearing the nicest thing that currently for me. And I hit puberty early and that made it difficult to always be dressed on something that was considered appropriate by my conservative southern church. Anyone else share in this kind of experience?
please hotwifeβs boyfriend is coming over soon and heβs going to make me put my tubscrimmer away so i need to know quick
So, I've been reading, applying - some wins and some still on the way. Without getting into the specifics (old stories) here's what I found most important learnings:
Mental diet: YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS. we either have it (desired thing/state or we don't)
God does not wait, beg, rely or wait for someone to do something. God decides and it is done.
All manifestations are instantaneous. in 4D that is. 3D is a feedback of the 4D.
I have decided to live in my desired state, fully. in full blown I AM THAT. All my thoughts are from that state and nowhere else. When a thought creeps up, i don't even finish and I laugh saying: "Omg, i remember when i used to think that hahah that is so long ago and so not relevant anymore, that shit's gone and I am so happy now" (those contradicting thoughts have almost vanished now, and other positive ones are generated naturally)
Given we have a choice, i decided to go with the option where I am happiest. Complete disregard for 3D, like i know it's there but it's just the printed paper of what's on the computer. If i need to change anything, I need to change it in the computer first for it to be printed as i wish. (my analogy of 4D and 3D haha)
I am using generic and specific affirmations with feeling. I do them randomly during the day when I am most present and doesn't feel fabricated. I do a short scene in SATS or daydream (not always the same one - i rotate a few depending on what feels easiest at the time). When a thought about what im manifesting comes, i just go like: " omg yes, it so amazing how blablabla, i feel so happy, good etc" and I would be thankful for having it. ( I usually include stuff i have in 3D and 4D into my gratitude list)
This is day 5 of completely ignoring the 3D. I AM SO HAPPY - content, like i have no craving no anxiety. I know it is done,
I don't know if anything's changed in 3D, I honestly don't care for it that much anymore as i used to. what i mean is i am not checking to see if things have shifted - Im just so relaxed and not comparing. I did notice some progress tho.
Question is: Do you guys feel the same/ felt the same? Is this the Sabbath?
would love to hear your method/feeling :) much appreciated xx
