In 2007, Antonio Cromartie returned a missed Ryan Longwell field goal to put the Chargers up 14-7 before halftime, but Adrian Peterson broke the rushing record in the second half and the Vikings won 35-17.
In 2013, Cordarrelle Patterson housed the opening kickoff against the Packers, but Leslie Frazier's Vikings sucked and went on to lose 44-31.
And today, Jamal Agnew returned a missed 68 yard attempt by Matt Prater to put the Jags up 13-7 at halftime, but would eventually lose 31-19.
Huh, weird.
But what about 1998?
Gary Anderson was money all year and missed one kick
… since Zimmer has been here he has constantly swapped out kickers, punters (placeholder on field goals and extra points) and long snappers
A year ago or so Ryan Longwell did a number of interviews.
Ryan Longwell said Zimmer needs to stop doing this.
He basically said Zimmer needs to look at those 3 positions as a machine and you can’t swap out parts.
Longwell was probably the last consistent kicker we had and he had the SAME long snapper and place holder during his 6 year tenure with the Vikings
He said in their first preseason they struggled and the HC (Chilly maybe, I can’t remember) said something to him about it and Longwell said they’d work it out.
The HC left them alone and they did work it out and we had some normalcy at the kicking position for over half a decade.
Justin Tucker who is considered a top 3 kicker by virtually everyone (I believe) had the same place holder and long snapper for about 10 years (long snapper changed this year)
… if someone is bored I’m sure they could do a deep dive on this and look at some of the best kickers in NFL history and see how often they had the same long snapper/place holder
I’m just going off of what one of the greatest kickers in Vikings AND Packers history said

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
