A list of puns related to "Revolution Radio"
I love it to bits. It contains every bit of Green Day that I love and just rocks! Forever Now is also a bloody masterpiece!
My review: tilt was fine, if mostly standard. The standouts for me were somewhere now, which sounded a bit like gypsy queen by The Who, bang bang, and say goodbye. While Outlaws was the worst track of the bunch, the others were fairly standard greenday fare aside from still breathing, which seems to be swift inspired.
All in all, not bad, but falls short of many better albums theyβve put out over the years.
Hey guys, I'm trying to buy clothes that look similar to the red shirt and black waistcoat that Billie wore a lot during the Revrad tour, but I just can't seem to find anything that looks very similar. Has anyone got any tips for me?
Hey guys,
I love green day just like everyone here I assume and my favourite albums are American idiot and Dookie (I'm basic, I know) but I also really love revolution radio almost all the songs on that album absolutely slap. I know revolution radio isn't hated on or anything but that album has some serious bangers like still breathing or bang bang and I don't understand why they're not more popular.
Can anybody relate?
This is what I like to call a βdynamic editβ of Revolution Radio by Green Day! This album is just about as dynamically-compressed (not to be confused with data compressed, which concerns MP3s) as American Idiot in its mastering, which itself was criticized for its loudness. Unlike American Idiot, however, this album was not remastered with a higher dynamic range after its initial release, so I thought it would be fitting to attempt to remedy its issues!
A large use of dynamic range compression can create a work that becomes audibly fatiguing to the ears on repeat listens. Because of this, I attempted to make this album more dynamic using a program called βPerfect Declipperβ, which can not only help alleviate clipping, but also much of the dynamic range compression that occurs during mastering! In this case, I was able to turn the dynamic range of the album from 5 into 11! In addition, it was able to fix up the high frequency clipping (that static-y sound) that occurs at the first few notes of βBouncing Off the Wallβ!
This is what the songs look like before and after my edits:
Left is before, right is after
In my edits, itβs important to note that the dynamics are not being restored with the "Perfect Declipper" program that I use, but rather, they are being approximated. While one may not be able to "declip" an album as one would be unable to "unbake a cake", I find the results here to be a convincible attempt at doing so. Only in the most extreme examples have I heard the program produce odd artifacts that would appear unintended in the albumβs mix.
Let me know what you think of the edits! I am open to suggestions of what else to make more dynamic, and I have links to my previous edits in a comment below!
Title
I'm just curious about this because I don't know what I personally would say is the closest.
This album is amazing and really encompasses everything that is great about Green Day. So many best songs and classic Green Day sounds mixed with some of their best lyrics. It was a great time to still be a Green Day fan when this came out. Hope it got the praise it deserved!
