After the success of Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt reunited on Karan Johar’s directorial, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The duo have been shooting for it over the last few months, and it is expected to be wrapped up by the month of March. While COVID might change the schedule, it’s tentatively looking to release during the Valentine's Day 2023 weekend. And now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that right after calling it a wrap on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Ranveer and Alia will get into the prep mode for director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much awaited period drama, Baiju Bawra.

“The prep work on Baiju Bawra is going on side by side with the post production work of SLB’s next, Gangubai. The team is planning to take it on floors by mid-2022 with a start to finish marathon schedule on humongous studios. Ranveer and Alia are locked to play the two leads in the film, and another leading lady is expected to come on board for a key role,” revealed a source close to the development.

The movie will be shot over a period of next 7 to 8 months, in multiple studios and the team is already working towards designing grand sets to transport the audience to the era gone bye. “Alia and Ranveer aside, two more renowned actors – one male, one female – will come on board the project and the casting work is currently in progress,” the source added. Initially, the filmmaker was in talks with Deepika Padukone to play the role of Dacoit in this period drama, however, we are yet to know the exact status around DP’s involvement in the film. While SLB was keen to have her on board, he was yet to get a final go ahead.

We are yet to get any clarity on the cast apart from Ranveer and Alia. “We shall have a clearer picture by this summer once the acting workshops begin in full swing. Both Ranveer and Alia will be training extensively as a part of their character prep,” the source signed off. Baiju Bawra will be the fourth collaboration of Ranveer with Bhansali after Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmavat. It would be the second film for Alia with the director after the soon to be released, Gangubai. After Baiju Bawra, Ranveer is expected to commence work on director Shankar's magnum opus. There's also a Kabir Khan film in the discussion stage, but one hears, plans on the same have been put on hold for now. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more.

Ranveer Singh couldn't hold back his tears as he spoke about the warmth with which his new film 83 is being received.

Actor Ranveer Singh said that he doesn’t like crying in public, but can’t help but get emotional at the love his new film 83 is receiving. Reminded of a recent press interaction where he welled up, Ranveer burst out in tears again.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ranveer said that it is probably because of all the pent-up emotion within him, and subconsciously a reaction to the effect that the pandemic has had on everybody in the last couple of years. “The love that is coming my way, I am overwhelmed. It’s a miracle that I became an actor…” he said as he trailed off, with tears in his eyes.

Asked why that is, Ranveer said, “Look at the fact, what chances did I have at succeeding?” After wiping away his tears, he said that he doesn’t know how to react to the kind words that people, including those that he hasn’t spoken to since he was a struggling actor, are saying about the film and his performance in it.

Feel free to disagree but i think his fashion choices are to capitalise on Shock value. I think there's a subtle class bias going on Diet Sabya. If you include a not so rich, famous person wearing the same kind of clothes, these bolly fashion critics (ahem followers) would balk at them. I think being risky is nice, but having said that, a lot of bad fashion is applauded coz DIfFerEnT. It's like luxury brand selling trash under an iconic label like Prada or Gucci. Remove the label and one would trash it.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh along with wifey Deepika Padukone is currently basking in the success of ‘83’. Time and again, the stars have delivered massive hits be it by sharing the screen space together or individually. Recently, Ranveer Singh opened up on being a secure actor despite Deepika Padukone being a bigger star.

In an interview with a news portal, Ranveer Singh said that he is the happiest when wife Deepika Padukone achieves a milestone. Does anyone on this sub watches the big picture by Ranveer Singh?

I’m genuinely curious who even are the target audience of this show apart from RS fans.

I watched 1 episode because it was on tv and I was too lazy to change the channel.

What a disaster, it’s a knock-off version of KBC. Ranveers energy is only tolerable in small doses not for 1.3 hours. There’s overacting every 2 seconds.

No wonder producers have already called it to go off-air soon.

I mean I watched the film.. He was decent, but god those intial 10 -15 minutes of him trying to sound like Kapil Dev was such a headache . I think he sometime doesn't know where to stop. He is right when says that his overrated wifey asks him not to ham in certain scenes etc

I have decided to start a new, fun weekly series starting from 2022 called Grade the Actor. Thanks to the mods for approving this idea.

Let me explain the how this works. We grade an actor on a scale of 10 for four different criteria:

1. Acting ability (well, actor, acting - kind of an important criteria, don't you think?)
2. Charisma (the IT factor, the star factor)
3. Looks/attractiveness (it's a visual medium after all)
4. Screen presence (capturing the audience's attention)

I am then going to average the scores for all the above criteria and further average all the averages from all the posters, to get the final grade.

Here's an example:

As pointed out by many comments, why is Katrina and Vicky not making their official wedding announcement. Deepika and Ranveer announced 3 weeks before their official wedding date. What is to be gained from this besides the constant media headlines? They will still make headline if they make announcement, so I don’t think it’s solely for PR.

If the dates December 6-9th is true, it’s less than a week from now.
