A list of puns related to "Quarterback sack"
*Preface: Been working on this as a way of doodling during online classes. I'm not saying that should stand on its own as THE stat, or that it's even a finished product, I just wanted to bounce the idea off some people. Feel free to rip it to shreds; it isn't my life's work. QBR isn't a real stat, by the way. Aside from saying that Trubisky is a top 5 QB, the formula is kept a secret by ESPN. No one knows how it works, although we do know that at one point it factored in things like "clutch" or "QB wins". It still might; we'll never know.
The biggest problems with passer rating are that it doesn't factor in rushing, so a guy like Lamar looks terrible, doesn't factor in sacks, but most importantly, is way too dependent on throwing touchdowns.
Take this scenario, for example. Derrick Henry has a monster drive, but gets tackled at the 1 yard line. Tannehill then throws a 1 yard TD pass when the box is stacked and his passer rating improves by at least 10 points for the game. However, if Tannehill leads the drive, but Derrick Henry punches it in at the 1, Tannehill's rating will suffer.
As a solution, I've created what I call QB Points Created (QBPC). The formula takes offensive points scored and divides it by rushing yards by non-QB players (also multiplied by 4.2 in the formula for weight). Because this is about the offensive production under control by the QB, all missed XPs and missed FGs are automatically added to the point total and defensive scores are deducted.
This way, offensive points are always factored in, but the more work the running game does, the less credit the QB gets for them. In this formula, I don't factor in passing TDs at all. I don't think they're a useful stat.
QBP also factors in completion percentage and yards per attempt just like passer rating. Formulas are all in the excel sheet below, but it's really simple - just the ratio multiplied by a weight.
RUSHING is another component. I wanted to factor in yards per rush, but also weight it by volume. Kirk Cousins running for 10 yards per game on 5 yards per attempt (for example) shouldn't be looked at the same as Josh Allen getting 5 ypc on 15 carries, but an inefficient runner that gets like 3 ypc also shouldn't get undue credit.
Thus, the formula multiplies YPC by the square root of rushing attempts so the more volume in a QB's run game, the more credit they'll get for high yards per carry.
Even though I don't factor in passing TDs, I still think IN

Brees, Brady, and Rivers, tho Rivers is tech 39 but close enough. This defense could not get one sack on any of these statues.
