Drawing software thats similar to IbisPaint or Procreate?
I recently switched from a tablet to a touchscreen laptop, and I'm having a very hard time learning new software. So far, I've tried FireAlpaca and Medibang. I can't figure out how to clip layers, blur, or literally anything else. Is there any free/really cheap software that is simple and easy to learn?

Any software on Windows that comes close to the simplicity and intuitiveness of Procreate?
Tried out Photoshop for drawing awhile ago and though its a very functional and in-depth software for drawing I also found myself getting confused alot trying to figure out features or getting things to work, so I wonder if there are any alternatives that are simpler and alike to Apple's Procreate.

Is buying iPad just to be able to use ProCreate really worth the money? Aren't there alternative tablets and respective digital art softwares?
As a kind of newbie in digital art I am very hesitant to spend over $700 on an iPad. I'm used to drawing on an old screen-less Wacom tablet in a free digital art software but I wanted to try the on-screen-drawing and use all the fun-looking different features I saw people use in ProCreate. I'm just worried I won't like it or I'll come to a conclusion that it wasn't worth the money, that it doesn't work properly, just that something will go wrong and then I'll have an expensive tablet just laying around. Is it really worth the money and has anyone here tried any alternatives to iPad tablets and ProCreate software? Thanks for any response!

Compared to other softwares, it feels like doing lineart in procreate is doing it on maximum difficulty mode. Lack of any stabilisation mechanics?
Just wondering why procreate lacks any stabilisation mode! Itβs a very common feature in drawing softwares. I know it has βStreamlineβ but that is not the same. The lines still follow even the slightest hand wobble. I have to constantly undo and redo lines. Itβs making everything quite β¨difficultβ¨ lol Anyone else whoβs art is very lineart based really feeling this issue? Interested to know, thank you!

For Game development asset creation, is there something Procreate cannot do that other dedicated pixel software can?
Planning to learn pixel art for a game Iβm developing. Never done pixel art before. I would like to do most of the pixel art asset creation using my iPad and maybe Procreate.
I know people have done pixel art for games using Photoshop. And I know Procreate can also be used for pixel art.
But what I wondering is if there any functions dedicated pixel art software have that Procreate doesnβt specifically for game development asset creation purposes (sprite sheets, tile set, exporting etc, I have no clue).
Just wanted to do research before I dive in dedicating most of my time on a particular software.

Does anyone here find procreate to be a good software for animating?
So hear me out, I donβt think their animation studio is the best as it lacks many many features and most likely you will end up composing and doing fixes on a desktop BUT at the same time I absolutely love the minimalistic range of options, the fact I donβt have to keep using short keys because everything is just by a one click of a pencil.
I also hate how TV PAintβs layout looks like on my Wacom cintiq 13β in because of so many options the drawing panel is so small on a screen this size and drives me crazy. iPad is the same size but obviously the canvas takes up 90% of the screen and it releases the pressure from my eyes.
But in my case, my 2nd gen iPad Pro (released summer 2018) seems to have awful limitations on the amount of layers. Does it get any better with nevewer devices?
Anyone here who genuinely prefers animating on iPad? Any tips? :))

Procreate does not equal design software
I have been growing frustrated with this for a while now and I just want to check if other people feel the same or if I'm overreacting.
I have been using the drawing software Procreate for a while now. I use it for digital painting and sketching. To get better at it, I joined a few Procreate community pages on Facebook.
Lately, I have been seeing a lot of posts of people asking for advice on doing graphic design on the app. Like designing logos and business cards.
I can only comment so many times that they should be doing it in a vector program and that logos should be vectorized.
Driving me CRAZY.

Digital art: Is procreate worth the hype? Or are there other alternative apps/software that you like just as much/more?
I'm not a professional artist or anything but I enjoy traditional art in my free time. Lately I've been wanting to practice more digital art and most of the posts I've seen point back towards procreate being one of the best apps to get started with.
The thing is I don't have an iPad but have full intentions of getting one (not just for art). Because I'm not a professional I don't feel the need to invest the extra cash on an iPad pro since I don't think the benefits it offers over a regular iPad are something I'd notice, muchless miss, as a hobbyist. I already have a pen tablet but I don't like the experience of using it, feels too disconnected so after trying it out once I chucked it in a corner and haven't touched digital art since.
I plan to replace my laptop soon, so I'm currently wrestling between the options of spending more cash on a good 2-in-1 and using that for digital art then buying an iPad once the 8th gen gets released later this yr, or buying cheaper traditional laptop and getting the 7th gen iPad + apple pencil now.
What are your experiences with procreate? Do you know any good beginner friendly (emphasis on the beginner friendly) options that give a comparable/ or better experience on windows?

Is purchasing an older iPad/Apple Pen to use ProCreate worth it in the long run?
Iβm generally not a fan of Apple products because I feel like they are designed for with planned obsolescence and forcing you to constantly upgrade to their newest product in mind, but I want to have ProCreate for the convenience of digital sketching without having to be at my desk with my Wacom tablet. Iβm worried that if I spend the money on an iPad and a pen, it wonβt be long (i.e. only a few years) before I have to upgrade to a newer iPad in order to continue using the latest/best version of ProCreate. Does anyone else feel this way or is this not the case necessarily for iPads/Apple Pens/ProCreate? Thanks!
