A list of puns related to "Portaledge"
Hi everyone - looking to buy a cot and convert into a portaledge Ala treefool but it seems manufacturers have changed design of camping cots so I'm not sure what will work. Anybody here tree camp? There's a subreddit for tree camping but last post was 7 years ago..
edit: we all make mistakes
HELP! I'm in my portaledge on the Nose and I really want to go and finish my climb, but my sleeping bag is too comfy to get out! What do I do?
I've tried hanging bananas just out of reach but I ate them when I was trying to put them there.
Climbing conditions are perfect and I should be able to reach the end before dusk if I can get out within an hour.
So my brother and I will be travelling to El Potrero Chico over the Christmas break for about a week to do some multi pitch sport climbing, and I'm also considering getting a portaledge for the trip in order to spend new years on the wall.
So my question is: I don't have any first-hand experience with setting up a portaledge, but I don't see why it couldn't be set up on a sport climb (seeing as all the videos I have seen of portaledges show them connected to bolts). Is this realistic? Or should we just enjoy the climbs there and spend the nights on the ground?
(Alternatively I guess we could just use our headlamps and go night climbing over new years, but ideally I think we'd like to be sitting down and cracking open a bottle of whiskey or something)
Do you like to backpack and sleep outside? Of course you do! Now, what if you could go backpacking, but VERTICALLY? Folks, we are living in 2020 and gravity has held us down for far too long.
Start fighting the power today with a purchase of the finest Portaledge on the market. This D4 ledge uses the most up to date materials and designs, making it the lightest(Ultralight you could say), most compact full two person ledge on the market!
Weighing in at 10.5 lbs for the ledge itself, or 14 pounds with the fly and fly pole, it is the perfect size and weight to give to your belayer to carry up to the wall instead of you.
The ledge has been used twice in trees, and unfortunately that is all. It has a couple spots of dirt that should come off easily with some water. It has been seam sealed, but it may have been a tad cold when I did it and the sealant gunked up a bit in spots. This can be remedied with mineral spirits if you desire, but it should nevertheless be fully waterproof.
Skip the wait time and save money!
Asking $1000, but open to offers later on!
Edit: Oh yeah its for rock climbing. Or trees. Or your neighborβs house.
Edit: Will trade for a van or portable industrial sewing machine

What is the proper etiquette for setting up my portaledge at my local gym? I canβt find anything on their website about camping overnight but figured theyβd probably understand if they saw me just wake up every morning and start sending.
Working on a new project and figured i could just rest on the wall while I work out the beta.
Itβs the pink one in the corner so itβll pretty much be out of the way if that matters at all?
Question for all the climbers out there: anyone know where I can rent portaledge in the Salt Lake valley? I'd like to spend a night on one this fall just to try it out and can't find anything online.
Cheers.
