A list of puns related to "Polandball"
I have been noticing this for quite some time now. Don't know if others have as well. But there is never a positive comic on India on r/Polandball. Tho Poladball is mostly EU and US focused subreddit but I couldn't help but notice an aniti India stance in their drawings.
I remember it was released during depression month within the last 4 years, and it was about the US and USSR with lyrics from the song Not So Different After All over several scenes of conflict. I thought I had it saved, and searching the name of the song does not bring up any results on the sub.
Hi folks,
I'm assembling a small team of devs to create a Polandball mobile platformer! We are in the very early stages of development and have not fully committed yet.
This post is to sample the community's thoughts on such a game. Simple Polandball games have been developed in the past, but have not found much of an audience. I think it's possible to make a great Polandball game, but it would really depend on support from the community.
With support, a serious Polandball game would be a lot more viable. For example, our team could work with the community to gather feedback on new features, run public beta-tests, or develop the game's backstory. We could also sponsor Polandball creators to help develop easter eggs or funny loading screens. We could share our own Polandball comics from the game universe. There's a lot of potential.
I welcome any questions, thoughts, or concerns on this topic. Please vote below on whether you could support this game.
I've seen the pillory of no-gos publicly shamed comicsand the post with the worst polandball comics but I want to know what were the worst approval requests you have received
A couple of days ago I made post with the results of blenderball:https://www.reddit.com/r/polandball/comments/mq7tue/medical_condition/
All frames were 3D rendered. I added some comic magic with Clip Studio.
From down here I'll give the breakdown how it was made in blender.
Small warning, this is probably going to a be lengthy post. [edit] yup
----- Go! -----
To get toon style renders, there are a couple of things to consider, because there's more than one way to approach them.
Some of the approaches come close to what you want, but can give you issues in some cases.Doing polandball art added some extra issues to work with.
tl;drYa'll need to do, is to have pixelated toonshading and outlines, and get rid of issues.
Let's start with removing anti-aliasing, to do that is set the sample amount of the render to 1.
Next to get outlining. There are 2 ways to do this:
There's freestyle, and there's a solidify trick.
Freestyle is very straightforward, there's a checkbox in the "render properties", and in the "view layer properties" in the right bar you have the freestyle settings all the way down.
These settings give you a lot of control to work with, you can in include or exclude objects by using collections, variating line thickness, and so on.
However... when there's an object in front, the line is cut off. This can become an issue. (It did)
So what about the solidify trick? This is a 2 step shading trick. First you create a material for teh outline. You create a new emission material, check the box on backface culling and sets shadow mode to none. Then use teh solidify modifier, in the settings: set normals to flip, and offset the material usually 1.
This will also give you an outline, and you can even see it in teh viewport. However, your control isn't as refined as freestyle, and has its own issues. See 1, 2
My trick was to combine the the two to hide/obscure those issues.
Now toonshadingToonshading is fun and easy to start with, a bit harder when it needs to comply with polandball.A basic toon shader is done with a couple of nodes.
I thought doing some poorly traced flags without anti-aliasing would do the trick. I discovered that didn't work
