A list of puns related to "Megalomania"
I'm a huge fan of progressive rock and metal, and longer tracks in common, and holy heck I absolutely love Megalomania to bits. 10 minutes of pure mastery.
The intro, before it kicks in to gear, is mesmerising and just overall beautiful to listen to.
And the "Feel it slipping away" parts, with a kinda robotic sounding overdub, I just purely love to bits.
A great Iommi solo completes it, and damn what a good song.
This song is definitely one of my favourites out of Sabbath's discography so far (haven't listened to anything past Sabotage yet except the odd song).
One of the best sabbath riffs period once the song really kicks in a few minutes in. Ozzy was in his prime vocally and sounds great. And is groovy as hell.
Do you like the song? What do you think?
So I'm a 32 year old male that is trying to figure out where I fit in in the mental health world. I'm obsessed with power and control. There's something about the two that just give me a high like feeling. I also lack empathy. When people come to me with their problems I basically blow them off and don't feel bad for them what so ever. I'm extremely irritable and get angry very quickly. Whenever someone makes me mad or talks shit to me my first thought is how I want to kill them and destroy anything that they have going on in their lives. If I knew I could get away with it I would, and not just a quick death but I want to inflict as much pain and damage to them as possible. Thankfully I can control my actions most of the time. (I've never actually killed someone btw.) There have been times where I have lost control when I was younger and stabbed my stepbrother in the hand with a pencil. Another time I put D size batteries in a sock and hit someone across the back of their head with it after pissing me off. At this time in my life I can feel that things are getting worse and I am becoming more and more reckless. Also I can be extremely manipulative. Wtf is wrong with me because obviously this isn't normal.
I should also note that I was mentally abused by my stepmother when I was younger and I've been diagnosed with chronic depression, anxiety, and bipolar II.
Thank you in advance.
Yes it is incredibly oddly specific indeed but help a fellow human out :D

Yo,
I'm a bit new here, and have just unlocked Metaphysics on my 2nd run. I have been following the wiki for a while, but I can't seem to find Megalomania in Metaphysics. My goal here is to unlock trading with the Leviathans. Anyone know how to fix this, or am I doing something wrong here? :)

Since the Megalomania remix released, I've felt quite dissatisfied with it. Though it did fix major issues from the original mix - e.g.: the verses sounding dull, the clearer strings, etc. - it did introduce some other major issues. The lack of power on the choruses was the one that motivated me to do this "enhanced" version, that I hope you like. I'll go on what exactly I did on detail now, and I'd reccomend you to listen to it while / before I continue.
Now, the files I worked with were the 24 bit / 96 kHz FLACs from Qobuz. I downsampled it to 44.1 kHz because it's both lighter and, the spectral info above 22,050 Hz wasn't really important.
First, the introduction. I didn't do much here apart from fading it in and mixing both versions together, since I wanted to boost up a little bit the weird phaser effect that the remix had a bit low in the mix. For the first verse I used the remix and kept it mostly untouched, besides some EQ applied throughout the track. However, on the second verse, there is a drop-out on the church organ around 2:20 on the remix, so I synced the isolated organ and mixed it, making it a bit louder. It was also made to compensate the louder organ in the choruses on the original mix. The choruses and outro are entirely from the original mix, EQ-matched to the remix. I did carefully de-ess them as well (reduce "s"-like sounds) since they were too loud compared to everything else on that frequency range.
I'm quite satisfied with the result so I decided to share it over here. I'll probably produce more of these "enhanced" versions in the future, but I will get to them when the will to do them comes.
I didnβt really think I would enjoy this one much as I did. Not sure about it being a βhidden gemβ because Iβve seen several people singing its praises, but I still think it deserves a lot more credit for what it does: Ryse is a visually epic story of revenge that comes with a great chaotic, war like feel and satisfying combat mechanics. Having come fresh from playing For Honor, I have to say I much rather preferred this approach in such a short game. You wonβt find any complicated button patterns or anything like that, and I guess the battles may feel somewhat repetitive towards the end, but the goal is to make you feel like this Centurion badass slashing through enemies like thereβs no tomorrow, and in that sense, the simple, streamlined combat works really well to provide that. In fact, most of the mechanics here are simple, and even basic movements like climbing or crouching are done automatically so that the player can totally focus on their visual journey. It feels to me like the mechanics are the way they are because theyβre simply there to serve the story, and serve it in a way that still feels punchy and dramatic. And speaking of story, this one actually surprised me quite a bit. I wasnβt really expecting much, but I became hooked on it as it progressed, and what initially looked like a very straightforward narrative turned into something I wasnβt expecting involving subplots of lunacy, megalomania and mysticism. Backed by solid voice acting, I really enjoyed the vibe you get from pretty much the beginning of the game. Thereβs a lot to like here.
The game can sometimes feel a bit janky, and itβs in these moments that you peek behind the curtain of visual awesomeness (seriously, this game came out in 2013??) and see the lack of polish. I also wish the level design was slightly better, though in such a linear experience thatβs not a big deal at all. But overall, especially because it doesnβt demand that many hours from you - you can easily play trough it in one long session -, Ryse is a really cool game that I wish had received a bit more recognition when it came out and I had decided to play sooner. Probably a 4/5 in my book.
