Police Kill Teen with Hands Up Over a Toy-Gun!
STROUDSBURG, Pa. β A Chinese American teenager who was fatally shot by Pennsylvania State Police last year had his hands in the air when troopers opened fire, new videos reveal, prompting calls for an independent investigation.
The videos, recorded by the State Police, show the final moments of Christian Hallβs life on the afternoon of Dec. 30, 2020.
Hall, 19, who had been diagnosed with depression, was standing on the ledge of a highway overpass near Stroudsburg, in northeastern Pennsylvania, when troopers arrived. They tried to persuade him to get down, but when they saw he had a gun β later determined to be a realistic pellet gun β they backed away.
Video previously released by the Monroe County district attorney shows Hall raising his hands in the air, with the gun in one hand, after a trooper fired bullets that struck the bridge.

Law Enforcement continues to shoot and kill minorities with toy guns, even with their hands in the air.. There's got to be a better way....
Hello! I'm luke and I'm currently 17 in my senior year of high school. After High School, I am planning on attending a local college for my associate's in criminal justice. For the past 3 years, I've shown interest in the PSP, but would like your opinions! I'll start with why I want to join, the benefits of PSP, and end off with my questions. The only negative I have about the PSP is the troop assignment. I would prefer to be assigned to the troop where I live so I can stay close to family, but from what I've heard they choose your troop for you.
STATE POLICE
I am interested in the PSP because of their high standards for one, but I don't know if I'd be able to do it. I feel like I would get denied just from the interview let alone the application. My number one priority is safety, I would like to at least feel safe while doing my job. I also prefer PSP because of their pay and benefits, it's for good reason much greater than my other options below.
CITY POLICE
I take pride in my Pennsylvanian town and they have a decently funded police force. I live in Erie, PA but I don't think the route Erie police patrol is the safest or even remotely appealing to me. I have instead shown interest in a town inside Erie where the neighborhoods are nicer and are pro-police. This department is also well funded and has had many fewer incidents involving the public.
COUNTY
The Sheriff's Department in Erie is essentially a courthouse workforce and school resource deputies. I don't have any interest in doing this department.
QUESTIONS
CONCLUSION
This wraps up my questions and concerns, I am eager to read your replies and I hope I can soon make a fruitful living off of whatever department I choose. Thank you for taking the time to read my message and stay safe!
