Bullying behavior predicts an increase in sexual opportunities even when accounting for age, sex, and self-reports of attractiveness, likeability, and peer victimization

https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1474704915613909

"Traditionally believed to be the result of maladaptive development, bullying perpetration is increasingly being viewed as a potentially adaptive behavior. We were interested in determining whether adolescents who bully others enjoy a key evolutionary benefit: increased dating and mating (sexual) opportunities."

"In both studies, bullying was significantly positively correlated with having dated, number of dating partners, having had sexual activity, and number of sexual partners. In Study 1, it was positively associated with an interest in dating, and in Study 2, it was positively associated with self-perceived attractiveness and negatively associated with age of first sexual experience."

"Attractiveness was positively related to having dated, number of dating partners, and self-perceived likeability in Study 1, while in Study 2, attractiveness was positively associated with bullying, number of dating partners, having had sex, and number of sexual partners, as well as being negatively correlated with age of first dating."

Looking for victims of MGM in the northeast Wisconsin area - Working on starting a peer support group

Hello

So I know that meeting people who are going through what I am would be incredibly helpful, and I'm positive that I'm not alone. I've been looking into various facilities in the GB area which accommodate support groups. I would really love to get a peer support group going for myself and others.

I haven't had a whole lot of luck with finding facilities atm. I discussed the idea my (incredible) therapist, and although he thinks it's a great idea that I should follow through with he thinks that these facilities will only be receptive to it if we are already established as a group.

I would really like to get this going and I think I could bring a lot to the table, specifically I took a 6 month course on dialectical behavioral therapy which teaches intensive coping techniques which were designed for victims of prolonged trauma.

The issue is that I need to find interest in this and people who are willing to help set it up.

I was thinking, with the pandemic and summer months approaching, that we could start by meeting at a park in GB or wherever is easiest for most people. We could even work on purchasing a zoom account if people are more comfortable doing things online or for people who can't make it.

The only way we will make it through this is if we HELP EACH OTHER. If you are at all interested in this please message me here!

(this is a throwaway account to preserve anonymity btw)

I don't get why people want to fit in so bad. I get drained just seeing everyone fall victim to peer pressure.

Maybe more so in school but people will do anything to feel like they belong. It was so draining trying to keep up with the crowd. You always feel one step behind and you're constantly trying to gain approval of everyone. None of them even like you for you and only care about the image they portray.

Its all because you don't want to be alone but I realized thats what I needed the most. The crowd isn't doing anything more fun or better than you anyways.I still think you need to find your kind of people but I tend to find crowds turn you into something your'e not. Being you is way better than giving yourself up to be someone you're not.

Cultural Due Diligence II – The Definitive Guide to the Psychology of Scams and How to Detect Them

Hello, my name is Blanderson_Snooper, and I am a Superstonk addict.

https://preview.redd.it/834z2kxrwa781.jpg?width=762&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=423cd8177a02c2cba96cf11578dc8e8e6970d4d8

My first post to Reddit was what I called a Cultural Due Diligence, an attempt to demystify the tactics of shills and the psychology of financial terrorists in order to help Apes through a rocky period in our history. I was inspired to write that post, along with the original Wargame Theory, by the excellence of Apes, as well as the need to shift Ape consciousness from the manipulations of the OG sub into a diamond-handed cohort that could stand against all the world’s media, shills, scammers, and financial institutions.

Almost a year on and we’re doing pretty good, wouldn’t you say?

https://preview.redd.it/w4gxvrbtwa781.jpg?width=607&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77ca0e6046f79994d1014cbe42cb49cc6791f89b

Our community is seven times larger than it was, and Apes have forged their own investment thesis through the dedication of our wrinklebrained DD researchers and authors. If you missed everything and everyone that led us here, check out my guide to the first seven months of DD that forged our diamond hands. We wouldn’t be here without them.

Lately, however, I’ve witnessed events that inspired me to once again offer a Cultural Due Diligence, this time a comprehensive look at the psychology of scams. Back in the spring we discovered COINTELPRO, which gave us a method for recognizing and battling bad actors and their attacks on our community. However, the terms they gave us - shills, FUD, forum sliding, etc. – have become a little long in the tooth and/or corrupted over time. Scammers never stop adapting and co-opting our culture to their criminal ends, and so we must keep evolving and adapting our defenses as well.

By the end of this post, you will have a PhD in scam detection and defense.

πŸš€

This post is scam-agnostic, meaning it’s not targeted at any of the scams currently being run against Apes. This is a distillation of information fro
