The time was this past summer (2021).
I was a boot getting processed through admin stuff, new gear, vaccination shots, you get it.
Due to logistical reasons with my vision and having to be separated from the main group, a battle buddy and I with similar issues had to go around doing the whole thing at a slower pace because of how backlogged things were.
On about our third day of being hauled and told to go around all over, we finally managed to get to the photo station.
I headed into the short 2-3 person line for photos while my battle buddy stood next to the door outside. Some more people (like 5) also lined up behind me a few seconds after showing up out of nowhere.
Things were going a bit slow so I turned around to make some small-talk with the private behind me since we were on the same boat.
"I'm guessing things are a bit slow today yeah?"
No reaction. The guy was a bit tall so I was looking up at him, but he wouldn't say a word.
I thought to myself, "huh not much of a talker I guess"
Then I looked down at his torso and that's when I went...
"1... 2... 3....... 6 stripes chevron...."
"And a star in the center."
"F u c k"
Even after I looked at his insignia he was dead silent and was still staring at me with wide-open eyes ready to shoot laserbeams out of them and the major himself giving me an aura that he was about to curbstomp me into the ground.
I tried to play it off as if I didn't just take a glance at his rank and nodded and saying, "well I guess there are those days..." while then proceeding to turn around and face forward while sweating bullets.
I could feel his stare on my shoulders as I had to wait another very tense and awkward 20 seconds before being called up to the desk for my turn.
As soon as I was done with my photo I bolted out of there and grabbed my battle buddy and left that area as fast as possible.
Great time.
I swear the only reason I wasn't blasted that day and he held back was because none of us actually started training, otherwise that major definitely would have made me do a couple of hundreds of pushups until the floor was an ocean of sweat (which later did happen to my company later on actually for disrespecting the 1SGT).

Hey I'm a lowly D1 player and I've been thinking about this decent amount. Prefacing with I am not requesting any balance changes.
When the early widow mine drop hits, it costs 400 Minerals - 200 gas (4 widows, 1 medivac). The medivac almost never dies because theres something like 3 or 4 stalkers so its really the price of the widow mines 300 minerals 100 gas. They will never kill the widow mines before they shoot their shot, but all the widows will eventually die.
At minimum they will kill 1 probe each if protoss perfectly pulls the probes.
That's 200 minerals no matter what. Also the lost mining time of 2 full saturated mineral lines is an additional 200 minerals (2 mineral lines over 5+ seconds)
If the widow mine decides to target a stalker instead, its 125 minerals, 50 gas which is a net benefit. If each widow mine kills more than 1 probe than its even more efficient. At best, they demolish whole mineral lines and its impossible to recover as protoss but its the fault of the protoss at that point for not paying attention.
There is still a possibility after shooting, they can be picked up by medivac (low possibility, but can maybe save 1 or 2 out of the 4)
Is there ever a reason not to widow mine drop? This doesn't even consider if they have an armory out, if they somehow live to get a 2nd shot off its all extra gravy.
It also gives great scouting and keeps units at protoss home so they get less map control.
Heyy all, I just took my nclex a few hours ago and got the good pop up which stated: "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled the exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I took three screenshots and rolled on the floor bc it gave me so much relief. However, I am wondering how accurate this trick is? considering that it's not an official result.

As previously written about, I requested Ft. Carson, CO (home), Germany (former home) or Korea (great choice) for my first assignment. But because the Army was phasing out an older ADA system, they needed new Stinger gunners at this newly reorganized battery at Ft. Bliss, where I also did Basic and AIT. I was so pissed.

It was really my own fault. My ASVAB score was high enough I could have done something besides combat arms, gotten a much larger bonus, and guaranteed station of choice. But nah, I had to be a fucking idiot.
I shipped to my unit from the AIT holding area on a Tuesday. Shipping meant a short bus ride with a duffle bag and my personal bag across the road about three miles, if that. I handed my orders to the PFC on duty, he took me to the basement where the armory and supply rooms were to get sheets and whatnot. I was given a key and told my room was upstairs. The first floor was offices and classrooms. I go up and meet Johnny, my roommate.
I've written about John before too. GREAT GUY. Loved him to death. But he was a drunken mess half the time. From a tiny town in Texas. So he wasn't happy about being in El Paso, where as it turns out, he spent his entire enlistment besides Desert Storm. Shit. At least I got to go to Korea before Desert Storm.
He also got busted in rank four or five times, and discharged as an E3 if I remember. Despite previously being an E4. He was a good soldier for the most part. Just couldn't stay out of trouble when drunk. The military is sadly filled with stories like that. I took the NCLEX-RN yesterday and the exam did not shut off until the maximum questions (145) followed by the experimental/new format they are testing. I pretty much immediately had the email from Pearson, and I checked the PVT about 7 hours later (I had to drive home), it was the good pop-up, wouldn't accept payment.... is it ever wrong with the good pop-up? Sounds like it is sometimes wrong when it is the bad pop-up.
I had taken Kaplans to study and the predictor said I would likely pass with 95% confidence. I also used nursing.com's Simclex and it would always shut off at 75 questions. I don't see how I could have done that poorly when I have always faired pretty well in the past, I'm an LPN and the NCLEX shut off at 60 (the minimum) for that exam. Ugh, the wait is agonizing.
To study I did lots of Kaplan questions and the Simclex. I also listened to Hurst review podcasts. The exam felt so much harder than anything else that I had used to prep with. There were a lot of pharmacology questions, vaccine questions, but no math. I didn't take too much time studying pharm since it makes up a relatively small portion of the NCLEX, well I regret that. I also had what felt like at least half SATA questions.
I drove 7 hours to the testing site and I stayed in a hotel the night before and drove back the following day. I feel that those who have to travel are at a disadvantage for the exam, with the added stress and costs. Okay, now I'm going to get on with my day :)
What's the appropriate way to decide whether its safe to open twilight before robo/stargate in this matchup? I died after three pushes, the first being a proxy concussive marauder with reactored marines from home, the second being a bigger push, and the third with tanks and medivacs.
That aside, I held it decently well, but I couldn't mine from my natural (and tbh already dead by the time the first proxied marauder arrived) for most of the game. Forcefields and stalker blink micro was enough to make me not lose too much and survive. BUT this leads to two questions:
- What is the appropriate follow-up after barely surviving (and a bit down in eco) in a PvT? I assume Robo would be too expensive, and Stargate is pretty weak unless my oracle game strong.
- Is Twilight a safe opener in PvT? I usually try to do the PartinG blink-semi-all-in, and I get very decent trades most of the time, but I immediately die to proxies. Even with 2 batteries in the natural/ramp. I find Robo is the safest, and SG requires you to really be on the map. I'm fine with both styles, but I prefer to start Twilight where possible.
I remembered Harstem mentioning in these fights if you have Stargate, you want phoenixes to lift marauders, and your ground can do the rest. (See his "Why Does Stats Never Make Bad Decisions?" Harstem Hour).
I just took the NCLEX. Shut off at 140 and then special research section.
I did the trick 1 hour after the exam and 20 min after getting the pearson vue email saying I took the exam.

I got 527 with a rank of 62,XXX. I belong to general category (welp). Luckily I'm from karnataka which has the most number of seats in the country. I'm from BANGALORE I won't get government tho..even If I get a seat ..a decent private college in bangalore will be better.
Advantages:
- Luckily in Karnataka about 40% seats in private colleges are government seats i.e 1.4 lacs per year(about 7-8 lacs for whole mbbs)
- There isn't discrimination as such between private and government..because in bangalore there's only 3 GMC and remaining are all private ..so people really don't know in the first place ...if its in the city and people have heard about it..then its good ..somewhat like that
Disadvantages:
- The colleges i might get (i.e government seat in a private college) is so-so ..it is in the outskirts ..with very less patient flow. Or I might get in a couple of colleges outside bangalore. But I don't want to move.
- People also may not know the college exists.
My other options:

I'll easily get a private seat in a private college like KIMS or MS RAMAIH, which are apparently the best in bangalore after the GMC's..they are very famous ..with all good facilities and patient flow and all. But its 10 lacs per year...SO 50 LACS FOR WHOLE MBBS!!

TL;DR (Other points I wanted clarification on):
DONT WANT TO TAKE DROP. UNCERTAINTY. Lot of commitment.
- If patient flow..or the college really does not matter for mbbs ..I have to go for government seat in pvt college ..which is considerably cheap and fine(7-8 lacs for 5 years full mbbs).. but its on a peripheral college in the outskirts..which .ost of the peole haven't even heard of.
- If the college matters ..I can go to a very reputed college..(but 50 LACs for 5 years)
If I go with option 1 ill won't be in denial ..but might miss out on reputed college and patient flow (which is important as people say) If I go with option 2 I'll be in denial ..of studying by paying hefty money
