A list of puns related to "PPI"
Obviously as more states legalize, this tip won't be super useful, and there are better ways of faking results, but I actually have the problem that gives me this prescription, and not being able to be tested for use is pretty nice.
Silver is the safe-haven on top of being the "new" critical material for solar, battery, auto, and cell phone...this is the trifecta scenario where silver skyrockets.
Hey all Only found this thread today. Iβm 38 and had GERD for years got officially diagnosed a few years back after having a stay away endoscopy. I could also see what the doctor called a mild laceration in the oesophagus. Iβve never taken PPIs like Nexium for a number of reasons and always try to manage it with diet. But at the times I fall off the diet wagon and I have bad stomach issues I usually take strong probiotic supplements and after a few days itβs fine.
Does any recommend to take PPIs? Iβm more worried about long term effects of taking them and usually never like taking drugs/medicine anyways.
But also worried by trying to manage it naturally I may be doing more harm than good.
Yβall...I did a slow taper from 80mg of panto.
Today is Day 4 of completely stopping them.
Iβm getting the rebound bad. Please help me not get sucked into starting them again. Tips on how to get through this besides the obvious?
Ugh! βI can do this, I can do thisβ βthis is temporaryβ
I take omeprazole daily and Iβm wondering if I can still take it prior to getting?
β’ Has anyone that has gotten the vaccine while taking a ppi daily? β’Weβre you able to still take it if you had any side effects/did side effects(if any) affect your willingness to take them?
I know everyone is different. Iβm just worried about missing a dose (and getting that damn rebound reflux) if I end up with more prominent side effects.
Thank you for your input & insight!
Hello!
I own the Samsung g9 , and LG CX 55
I have also owned many ips monitors such as the aw3821dw, aw3428dw, ect
When I play games like wow classic on my 4k tv the textures seem so clean, like.. glass, perfection.
On my monitor there's no jaggies, but it's not a perfect pixel Sheen
I don't know how to explain it, is it because the textures are bigger?
The tv has much less ppi.
Is it because it's a glossy panel?
Thank you I am so confused π€
I'm looking at a 430 this Saturday and I don't know any reliable/knowledgeable mechanics in the area.
Should I just go to a Lexus dealership? Does anyone know a good mechanic in Maryland? Thanks!
Has anyone have joint pain as a side effect from taking PPI? I have been taking them for 4 years now and 3 years have joint pain without any specific reason. I think it may be a side effect form ppi's. What do you think?
Question/Rant
Iβve had acid reflux issues since I was like 11-12. In my early 20s I was given PPIs and I am still on them almost 10 years later. Iβve been told many times by pharmacists and other doctors that this is not a long term medication. The more I learn about different issues that can cause acid reflux, the more angry I get that I was never tested for anything and just given PPIs that Iβm still on. My stomach issues are getting worse and changing as I get older, and I donβt want to be on PPIs long term anymore.
If drink too much water it upsets my stomach, sometimes a sip of water can do that in the morning, and before I go to bed or when I wake up I often have diarrhea. I have IBS symptoms that ruin so many things in my life- have you ever almost shit yourself while driving? I have! The pandemic has made finding a quick poop stop SO hard.
PPIs stop the burning, but I have tons of issues I donβt even know what the point is of taking them. Iβve even had issues in the past where extreme acid reflux was caused by TAKING the PPI to the point Iβve made myself throw up to stop the constant painful burning. This stuff always falls on deaf ears so Iβm at a loss.
So I donβt want to take them anymore. Hoping for anyone who has tips or success stories of changing things up. Youβre also free to rant too- itβs been almost 20 years of this for me, I can understand.
Hi all any advice on going cold turkey for 3 days ? Iβve been on them for 6 months... and been trying to wean off anyways but get horrible rebound itβs time.. Do I just have to rough it out or are there things I could try to help? I had a weird reaction to the Gaviscon Advance aniseed. Would DGL and esophagus guardian help?
About a month ago I contacted my GP via an online forum and was contacted by them the next day and they asked me to describe my symptoms and the guy on the phone suggested I take gaviscon.
My symptoms didn't get better after 7 days so I contacted my GP again and this time the lady on the phone asked for my symptoms and prescribed me PPI's.
I've been on them for about a week and my reflux has been getting worse.
Now I'm no scientist but why would something designed to reduce the production of acid make my reflux worse?
Also I've heard that anxiety can cause acid reflux which is kinda fucked up because funnily enough acid reflux causes me anxiety. β.
I'm A 23 year old male and I weigh about 60kg. Can anyone offer me any advice that isn't take pill?
Hi everyone! Does anybody here suffers from acid reflux? If so, how do you take the B12 which already is barely absorbed?
An expert told me I should take the B12 first thing on the morning on an empty stomach, but that is exactly when I should take my meds, which, makes even harder for the vitamin to be absorbed.
Any experiences? My doctor suggested I should just go back to meat, but I really, really don't want to do that.
Thank you so much!
I've been on PPI for a month and a half due to chronic gastritis and Gerd, and for a month now my stool has been changing, I can't figure out what color it is, whether it's yellow, whether it's pale, whether it's light brown, whether its is gray. I absolutely donβt know what color it is,
I would say it moves between light brown maybe a little on clay, sometimes a little on yellow. All these symptoms are accompanied by stomach discomfort, gas and bloating, I have no pain at all.
My doctor won't be here for another 3 weeks because of the covid and I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's normal to have such a lighter color and not be able to judge which one is true, it's certainly not completely brown, but it's also not completely gray or white. I'm very scared that I don't have a problem with the pancreas, I literally get chills when I think about it. Has anyone gone through this, have they had similar experiences, if someone has a strong stomach and is not disgusted, I can send him a picture in a private message so he can see what I am talking about. All in all thanks for the answers
I have my autonomic testing at Stanford on Wednesday but Iβve been on PPIs for really bad reflux and every time I stop I have excruciating rebound, and Iβve been asked to stop them for 72 hours in advance.
I asked the nurse, and she said it wonβt stop the test but theyβll just note it as possible interference.
Does anybody here know what affect PPIs can have on the test?
Thanks! Charlie
I know a lot people who have gerd for years and just take a ppi and drink alcohol , eat greasy spicy food without any issue.... so theres a small number that not even diet give us significant relief ? Does this have any scientific explabation? .
I have all of the symptoms of GERD, but proton pump inhibitors (multiple brands) don't seem to do anything to help my symptoms. In fact, the last time I was on them long term, they made me feel like I wasn't digesting food well. Is there another diagnosis my doctor could be missing, or are others unresponsive to ppis? I did have a barium swallow that ruled out structural issues and hiatal hernia.
Disclaimer: i've spoken with my docter about this. He gave me the green to try this, but he said cold turkey, i said weening off, he said it couldn't hurt to try.
So i got GERD symptoms and they are worse then before carnivore. I found that PPI's basically can give you low stomach acid, which makes protein hard to digest and makes you bloat up and give gas. So during carnivore i got IBS type of problems, which is weird seeing as carni should fix that. So the protein theory is something to try out.
Now my question is to those who quit PPI's during the carni diet; How did you ween off? how did you lower your dose? In which time period? I don't want to overstress my system with a full flow of acid right from the get go, because the body will overcompensate for low acid at cold turkey.
My diet is: 300-500 grams of beef with 100g tallow and salt, once at around 7 am once at 6 pm.
I know it helps heal the esophagus, but if I stop taking it, which I should after a few weeks the symptoms come back right? I don't know whats the deal here.
Just a quick update that my Gerd has become much better after I quit ppis lol who woulda thought. that and going paleo and supplementing with ginger really helped a lot. also dgl, slippery elm and d-limonene. anyways i ate green onions for breakfast today and ate fries the other day without problems, just really happy π good luck everyone!
Showing up to the exam site on the wrong day: priceless
I didnβt miss it, apparently theyβre doing two days for exams now and Iβm scheduled for tomorrow when everyone else I know was scheduled today. Oh well.
Iβve been on protonix for about 3? months now. Since I started taking it iβve noticed my anxiety symptoms have increased (shortness of breath especially). Could this be a side effect of PPI? Also, if itβs only been 3 months and I take one a day with a large meal, is it safe to just stop taking?
I really want to stop this drug. My acid reflux was never bad enough for this to get prescribed as iβve researched it more online. IBS was always more of my concern that I emphasized.
Thanks in advance, hope everyone is having a good day/ night.
I am seeking some advice! I have been on 40 mg of pantoprazole for 2 months. Iβm having daily nausea and vomiting and the worst headaches. I think the medication is making things worse! When I called the pharmacist today, I asked if I need to wean off or if I can stop cold turkey. He told me I could stop cold turkey. Everything I read online though, says not to stop cold turkey. The pharmacist warned me I will have a surge of more stomach acid and who knows how that will make me feel... but Iβd like to know if I should trust the pharmacist and cold turkey it!
Hi there,
I've been on PPIs for a few years now and looking to get off. I'm a pretty healthy eater, don't eat much bread or dairy besides greek yogurt, started eating kimchi, lots of fruits and vegetables, only lean proteins a few times a week (pretty much a Mediterranean diet).
About 7 or 8 years ago I was quite overweight and am concerned that I may have altered my stomach biome and want to work towards fixing it and repairing my gut.
I read up on Dr Hyman's recommendations for curing Acid Reflux and he suggested a few supplements:
Digestive Enzymes
DGL
Glutamine
Acidophilus
Magnesium
Zinc Carnosine
Wondering if anyone could give me some good recommendations on some supplements to use on top of my healthy eating/exercising.
I'm in Canada if that makes a difference.
Thanks so much.
Day 5 on PPI and my muscus is worse as well as belching. I know it can take some time for PPIs to kick in - but can symptoms worsen before getting better? Thanks
I usually take PPIs for GERD, but I try to wean myself off once GERD symptoms ease up. However when I stop taking PPIs I get diarrhea and stomach pain.
TL;DR Does anyone else get diarrhea as a withdrawal symptom after coming off of PPIs? What are the withdrawal symptoms you experience?
In addition to gut issues, PPIs are linked to kidney issues and possibly other diseases. There are currently lawsuits against PPI manufacturers for kidney issues.
Out of curiosity, do a lot of people who use PPIs long term have gut issues and/or developed an autoimmune and/or esophagus motility issues? I have all of the above so am wondering if others have it.

Iβve been on PPI (20 mg Prilosec after 40mg protonix not successful) since last January and am trying to taper off. My GI and allergist pretty much concluded that the PPI didnβt help with my EoE (no remission of symptoms after months) and I have been on Flovent since last April with great success (scoped 0 last summer and no significant issues since).
Unfortunately, not able to pinpoint my triggers and not in a position to do repeat endoscopies, so I plan to stay on Flovent until there are better treatment options. My question basically is that I am committed to tapering off (I alternated with 20mg ppi and Pepcid 20mg bid), but Iβm concerned about my esophagus in the meantime. Iβm experiencing some nasty rebound reflux now that Iβm taking the Pepcid only. Anyone have any advice? I have Gaviscon advance - usually take 1, but itβs not doing much for me. I am mainly worried about setbacks related to the EoE and possible damage to my esophagus. Would the Flovent effectively help prevent that type of damage too? I am really trying to stay strong here as I donβt think PPIs were ever the answer for me. Also experiencing burning in my nose which is new for me.
Hey all,
Just wanted to ask you what your side effects have been from PPIs. I have been on omeprazole for about 2 weeks. I notice that I am getting these dull pains that I don't think I got before starting PPIs. These dull pains come and go pretty quick, but they are usually below the middle of ribs, or under the bottom left or right ribs. Also, I feel like quickly get full when eating. Is this because my stomach acid is decreased?
I am planning on switching over to H2 blockers as my symptoms are very mild at this point and I want to do the H Pylori test because I didn't have it done before starting PPIs. Any recommendations for H2 blockers?
Hi all, I am in Gerd hell triggered by my gastritis past couple of weeks.
Since last week I have been taking 60mg Dexilant PPI in the morning. Itβs supposed to be a very strong ppi but only provides relief till dinner time then the hearburn starts to get bad. So I take 30 mg of Famotidine after dinner and that only provides little relief.
When going to sleep I take gaviscon and wake up with some hearburn in the middle of night and take another swig of gaviscon to fall back asleep. I sleep on wedge pillow and have been eating all very clean alkaline food. I know thatβs a lot of meds I am taking but just looking for some relief.
Curious to hear from others on how high you had to go on the PPI dosage and other meds to find relief.
Wondering if I should switch taking the PPI from morning to evening that should make the later part of the day better. Anyone experience something similar?
I have a refundable deposit on a car out of state (I am in PA and the dealership is in Brooklyn)
The car I have a deposit on is a 2018 Audi S6 with good mileage (car was a lease, looks like it was religiously driven 12k miles a year) and then turned in. The car looks to be in great shape, and I was sent a video of the engine bay and walkaround pointing out imperfections (scratches and a small dent) plus the interior (nearly mint)
The car is at an Audi dealership, and I wanted to see if it made sense to still try to coordinate a PPI. I figured it would, since I imagine New York isn't the easiest on cars, plus an S6 is definitely a little more nuanced mechanically than a lot of cars
I guess my question is, how do I go about setting up a PPI? I'm 6 hours away, so not sure the best route I should go to get the car looked at by an independent mechanic before signing the papers. Do I need to be there to take the car to a nearby mechanic? Or what about one of the mobile PPI companies that send someone to the car? Would they know what to look for on something like an S6?
Any input would be great since I want to go about this the right way, thanks!
I have been on PPIs for 5 weeks, which includes Pantaprozoloe 80 mg since past 15 days. My dosage gets over tomorrow, will I experience rebound effect???
If anyone has made maps from Dungeondraft and imported it for FoundryVTT, what was the best PPI/overall settings you used for most optimal and efficient file usage?
For their next trick the banksters will use their algos to convince people that accelerating inflation hurts the price of silver and gold!
Got silver?
Got popcorn?
So as my delivery gets closer, and just finding this subreddit. Iβve grown curious about the used car inspection. I read many saying they went to their local or trusted mechanic. Itβs concerning that there is always something wrong, but I read the same outcome as far as Carvana covering the cost. Now this may sound like a dumb question but does this trusted mechanic need to at an establishment, shop, dealership? I was planning on taking it to a dealership, but does Carvana provide you with the βfree inspection shopsβ? How many ppl are comfortable with the free shops to the licensed dealers?
Got diagnosed with GERD, esophagitis, and esophageal erosions in 2019. Recently diagnosed with GAD and PAD in the last month. No heart diseases as per my cardiologist.
Currently taking PPIs and on my second day. Quite worried that they might not be working since I'm still having frequent heartburns and shortness of breath. I feel lethargic most of the time as well and feel like I need to sleep often.
Anybody here who experiences the same? I might go to a pulmonologist in the next few days just to have my lungs checked. My anxiety is sometimes killing me.
To summarize my argument; I think what will likely happen is that consumption by those able to spend freely right now will move from WFH areas to standard outdoors retail/entertainment. However, I DO NO think there will be any significant additional expenditure by those unable to spend right now.
There will be a DISPLACEMENT of spending, but not much of an overall increase. Certainly not enough to move the needle with the official inflation calculations.
Now, some context and clarification.
I think I broadly disagree with the general literature being flagged around "unavoidable inflation" in the coming months.
Specifically, I am saying that I expect there to be a displacement of inflation from some segments of the economy to others. I DO NOT expect an overall increase in inflation by any significant amount.
Among other reasons why I think this will happen:
As I see it, this assumption is mistaken. There are still approx 9.6 million people unemployed (as JPow said, looking at unemployment numbers as continuing claims + labor participation rate drop).
Even a generous estimation of how many 10s of millions are unable to spend due to this 9.6 million unemployed will likely undercount to impacted number of people.
In other words, the K shaped recovery will continue. The poorer sections of the economy have not been saving up large chunks, despite what you might see in terms of overall bank customer savings numbers. Them getting back to their jobs will have some impact on demand for regular offline retail and some improvement in their overall finances, but not enough to move the needle towards significant inflation.
Now as to why I think the economically weaker sections are unlikely to increase their spending much:
While they were much more financially impacted by the lockdowns, a part of their unavoidable financial spending was cushioned by a combination of rent and loan moratoriums, as well as stimulus payments. So while they might get back to their jobs and have a slightly higher spending pool available, their financial requirements will increase as well.
So they increase their spending on rent and travel, but at the same time, the govt' reduces and closes down programs of emergency rent assistance and addiotional stimulus payments become less
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi,
I have been on omeprazole 20mg for nearly 2 years now for the treatment of uninvestigated GERD symptoms. The medication completely controls these symptoms, however my long-term use of this medicine has led to worsening symptoms of what I believe to be vitamin B12 and/or folate deficiency as well as a variety of other unpleasent side effects. The other long-term health effects also don't seem too pleasent (I'll get onto this later).
I recently switched to alternate-day half-dosing (20mg every other day) in an attempt to lower my usage, which for the most part also controls my symptoms (some reflux on days where I don't dose, but not painful and doesn't feel too acidic).
Several studies I have read suggest that there is little to no difference between daily full-dosing and alternate-day half-dosing^[1] ^[2] , however these studies are very limited and don't mention anything to do with long-term health effects. Does anyone have experience with this?
As for getting off of this stuff, any recommendations? Every time I forget to refill my prescription or miss a dose even for a few days, my symptoms return with a vengeance and so I feel doomed to continue with my chronic Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) use until I develop another lovely condition such as C. difficile infection, pneumonia, kidney disease or perhaps even dementia.^[3]
A few more questions to conclude my post:
Would I be better off continuing my regimen of 20mg every two days or switching to 10mg a day?
Do all PPIs share the same long-term health effects as omeprazole? If so, which PPI has the best safety profile for long-term use? (I would assume this would be whichever PPI could achieve symptom-relief with the lowest possible dose.)
Has anyone had any luck with using PPIs as-needed as opposed to daily or on alternate days?
Are there any better long-term treatments out there for GERD than PPI use? I'm really getting sick of all the side effects.
Kind regards,
Michael Burns
