A list of puns related to "POLK"
Comment #1: A micro stakes player who thinks GTO is the only way to play the game.
Comment #2: The exact same comment, this time angrily and with reference to Ivey being a fish now and living under a bridge. OP replies asking another question, which never gets answered.
Comment #4: "should have folded pre"
Comment #5: Something insulting, followed by "we should play together"
Comment #6: A player who won big at 1/2 live once, and now gives advice like he's Doug Polk and has reached the poker strategy singularity (PSS)
Comment #9: A winning 5/10 live player who actually bluffs, giving sound advice and fostering a discussion about poker, not a six table at a time GTO mouse clicking robot. Downvoted into oblivion by players whose three bet is effectively 10 cents, and who fold KQs UTG.
Comment #10: A video linking to Jamie Gold, Tony G, or Phil Hellmuth burning his shoes.
So Iβll skip a long post and just say this:
I have been given the choice between Polk and Bliss. In the ironically funny βhaha your branch will send you to Polk or Blissβ scenario, I reached out to branch and thatβs what they said I have to choose from. I was unable to do market place because of situation out of my control.
So here I am. A 30 year old SFCβ¦. Please tell me your experiences at either Polk or bliss. Downsides, upsides. Bonus points if you have been to both.
I found the whole podcast kind of odd. Doug seemed obsessed with Dan not having proof over his internet winnings, whereas Dan was obsessed with Dougβs wording and felt he was being slandered and misrepresented.
On the one hand, Danβs stories about crushing whales live and getting into good games is believable. However, his stories of crushing online and his winrates he claims are ridiculous. He said he won 400k playing only 10/20 in a month, as well as had weeks where he made 87k playing 5/10 HU. Those are just absurd winnings for their respective stakes.
All in all Iβm glad Doug had him on- and it was fun to hear such a combative back and forth.
I'm amazed he's agreed to talk to him. Unsurprisingly they're arguing about whether or not Dan made his money through poker.
Sweet, I live is Dallas and will make the drive down.
Soβ¦last week met my coworker at Hi Loβ¦had a few drinks. He bought the roundβ¦so to reciprocate: Bobs Donuts.
Maybe 9PM or soβ¦small line outside. Suddenly I smell something familiarβ¦hear a crackling soundβ¦look to my right
A seven foot flaming pyre burning on the sidewalk. And a street person holding a long stick and a flaming hunk of cardboard walked right by us.
Looked at my homie. And at the doughnuts. Looked back at him and he nodded. I Sighed: βFine.β
Left the delicious donuts to follow the mumbling arsonist who kept lighting his cardboard and waving it around.
Called 911: busy. Second time: busy.
Got through to dispatch just as we cornered the scamp on Sacramento between Polk and Larkin: eventually FD showed upβ¦then cops. So we left.
Walked back to Bobβs. I got a chocolate glazed with coconut flakes.
The original flaming column was a large Christmas tree: now is the time of the Great Dumping. Those trees are so dryβ¦and burn so hot and fast.
So my TLDR public service message: if a derelict tree is next to your car, doorway, wooden siding, open windowβ¦MOVE IT!
Ideally, at some corner intersection between sidewalk and street.
Otherwiseβ¦you might be sorry.
Stay safe!
Have been riding my bike behind 3 cars that are stopping all along polk, shining lights in the cars and smashing a couple of them. Passed at least 3 fresh break ins. Called the police but had no license plates. Check your stuff fam
I remember a few years ago he really slammed vlogging because he thought it was hipster or lame but now heβs vlogging and his commentary is great! You usually only hear that level of thinking in an online video but itβs super cool to see it live on a table. Thanks papa Polk!
I just found out Iβm getting stationed at Fort Polk, Iβm a 13F in AIT right now. Anyone have any insight on daily life as a 13F in Fort Polk?
Anybody have some insight on what the Euclid drive up line looks like this morning?
I saw the article saying yesterday was a nightmare - Iβm hoping that was just day 1 / holiday troubles.
While I am fully vaxxed and normally ultra cautious, I had a potential exposure 2-3 days ago (unknowingly) for about 5-10 minutes when I went to help a neighbor out with something at the front of the inside of their apartment at like 9pm and completely forgot to put my mask onβ¦I live with a severely immune-compromised kiddo who has only had the chance to get 1 shot so far - if he contracts covid it could easily be fatal. Im dropping off the free tests from the state in a couple hours but would really like a rapid test today to put my mind at ease :(
Wow he comes across as a whiney bitch.
TLDL for y'all:
'I pretended to be a trust fund kid and be really bad at poker so I could make it into these big fish games but I was secretly amazing at poker and thats how I made ALL my money now I'm angry real poker people joke that im a trust fund kid whos bad at poker.'
Edit: Fuck autocorrect! Dan Bilzerian
Now that baby can roll or crawl over and push the M70s over, weβre looking to get a wide TV stand that includes Room for large bookshelf speakers.
I wanted to DIY for the longest time, but the reputable kits over at DIY sound group are perpetually out of stock, and Iβd likely spend 3-4x the the current sale for the JBLs, not even considering time investment.
I do have a Polk psw505 that can join whatever pair I end up with.
Primary usage is music for a few hours each day, followed by movies and tv shows a few times a week.
Are the JBLs the best bet under $300?
Most of the people that talk shit about fort polk have never actually been stationed here. They come for JRTC for 14-30 days and leave. Its a training ment to imitate War. ITS SUPPOSED TO SUCK.
Anyways, the base its self is pretty nice and quiet. Theres never lines anywhere and theres everything you need in leesville, deridder, alexandria or lake charles. The housing here is very nice. Corvius is a privatized company that is very responsive and fix anything u might have trouble with in your home. The base is going through renovations to make it even more likable. What might make your time here hell could be your unit/ or leadership you get. Leadership changes all the time so dont let the bad times ruin how nice and quiet this base is.
edit: if your sole form of entertainment is to go out at night, club, party, etc...well then yes ft polk might not be the place to be. but other then that. not as bad as others say it is.
It appears my Swan M50w's are toast after only a few years. So I'm exploring my options. I'm not buying the Klipsch 2.1's again only to have them eventually break in the same way as my last set. And the Logitech Z623/5's seem to be more oriented to gaming. What I'm really looking for is a solid set of speakers for mostly music listening (lossless files) at my desktop computer.
It'd be nice to have a subwoofer but isn't critical. I don't care about bluetooth, multiple inputs, or even optical in.
