A list of puns related to "Non commissioned officer"
Or is it only Western militaries that have the concept of a "commission?"
I just started as a non-commissioned field supervisor/mobile patrol officer, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to get any kind of soft armor. the places I work are for the most part low risk ,but there's always that chance of a nutball coming around! My main concern is that since I work mostly high rises that me wearing a vest might alarm or concern the tenants of the buildings, though I would feel safer wearing at least an anti-stab vest.
Also should I decide to get either vest what would be the best place to get one for some one on the larger side that's on a tight budget, the nicer ones go for $600+, and whilst there are cheaper ones that you can get for about $5 I wouldn't trust those to protect me from a sharp egg shell. my budget high end would be about $200 if possible
After finishing my indentured servitude on Juneteenth and balling out at a going away party, I packed my entire life into a compact car and took off across the country to greener pastures and freedom. My fiancΓ©e and I got married six weeks later, and I started going back to school full-time while she worked full-time. Life couldnβt be better; we were finally living the dream. Or so it seemed.
Fast forward to today. Turns out that I married a liar and cheater who wound up leaving me in the middle of the night several weeks ago (without notice) to be with another man. The woman who I loved with all my heart, made sacrifice after sacrifice for and promised I would spend the rest of my life with turned out to be a complete fraud. Turns out sheβs a serial cheater and this is just what she does to men. The biggest reason I left the military to begin with was to start a new life with this woman.
I know for a fact that if this woman hadnβt been in my life for the two years leading up to our marriage (half my time spent in the Army), I wouldβve stayed in the military. I had every opportunity thrown at an E4 you could possibly imagine to get them to stay in: kick-ass deployments/YS taskers/duty station choices, the Old Guard, West Point, three letter agency slots and signed paperwork to go to different unit selections. I turned it all down with the line Robin Williamβs character in Good Will Hunting used to turn down Boston Red Sox tickets to game six of the World Series- βsorry guys, I gotta see about a girlβ.
At first I was only in it to get the G.I. Bill and VA home loan. That eventually changed though, and the tiebreaker for the staying in vs. getting out debate at certain times couldβve easily been decided by a coin flip. Once I met my wife though, that was that. I wasnβt going to let anything get in the way of us spending the rest of our lives together, including the military. Iβd heard too many stories from senior NCOβs, warrants and Oβs about how their wives were initially okay with the re-enlistments, extensions and deployments. After a while it got to them though, and eventually their repeated choice to stay in cost them their marriage. I wasnβt going to let the defense machine do what it does best to engaged and married couples. Welp, turns out my wife did that all on her own.
I donβt say all of that just to throw myself a pity party or get anyoneβs sympathy. I say all of that to remind everyone here who still wears the uniform of the reality that wil
... keep reading on reddit β‘When building a Colonial Marine PC through the Colonial Marines Operations Manual (CMOM), each Marine is associated with one or more "Field Events".
NCOs get to roll for two such events.
However, having read Core Rules, CMOM, and looked around the Internet, I can't find a consensus on which ranks are considered NCOs.
Considering all ranks above PFC to be NCOs (until the CO ranks) seems consistent with several current-day armed forces - so that's what I'm going with for now.
Which ranks do you feel are meant in the Alien RPG to be considered NCOs, that should get the second event roll when building the character?
CONCLUSION [edited after reading some replies, and looking further elsewhere]
It seems there are no clear rulings RAW.
In the future I plan to continue, by default, 'allowing' all marines apart from Privates and PFC a potential roll on the NCO Field Event table.
AND/BUT to be pragmatic about it and ask myself - has this character been through "A Lot" such that they are the kind of character who would have had additional life-changing field experience. Only if "yes" will i give them the NCO Field Events table.
Thanks for your help!
Going through some of the Twitter based discussions about Afghanistan made me think of past wars. While I am not equating the two, it did make me wonder what the rank and file or the people back in England thought about the American Revolution particularly after that conflict ended.
Hey all,
I'm trying to familiarize myself with the Marine Corps command structure and hierarchy, but I keep getting stuck on knowing the difference between commissioned and non-commissioned officers. What exactly is the difference between the two regarding hierarchy, authority, and leadership capabilities?
Just going over some questions I wasnβt sure about in my filter interview for my specialist interview. One of the questions I wasnβt sure about was the difference between a commissioned officer and a non commissioned officer.
I basically just want to check that this is correct.
Commissioned officer - Member of the service who gets their authority directly from the power of the monarchy.
Non commissioned officer - Member of the service who gets their leadership and command authority delegated to them by a commissioned officer.
Iβm sure thatβs a very simplistic way to describe it and thereβs more detail to add. However, I just want to check that so far what Iβve said is correct.
New Staff Sergeant got transferred to my Army unit and was listening in on my discussion with a few guys whose shelves are breaking. We were talking about the thoughtβif you leave the church why you canβt leave it alone?β And I made the point that our entire lives we were told/ordered to share our beliefs with others. Spread the work. If you find out itβs false, why would you stay silent? At the designated smoking area I noticed the officers tattoos that showed many different holy symbols from a dozen different religions. He said they all had meaning to him but he honestly didnβt have a religion past love thy neighbor and the pursuit of truth. I asked his opinion on religion and the fact he was now in Utah. He smiled and said that βreligious beliefs are like a 12 inch dick: I donβt care if you have one. The issue comes when you whip it out and try and shove it down someoneβs throat without them askingβ
This is my first post, please be kind :)
After spending days on the Intensive Care Unit of the Iquique hospital, this Monday dies the non-commissioned offices, Hernando Larraguibel Solari, who worked on Iquique's police station and have been diagnostic with Covid19. The police institution informed that he was the first police member who dies of coronavirus in the whole country.
It was on the social media of the police of Tarapaca who publish the news. Also, the comment that he worked on the police unit and the Iquique community patrols and on the last weeks of March he was entered in the ICU of the hospital, where he was in a critical state.

The title says it all.We have 5 members right now and that's an amazing start.A basic ships crew requires a:
A full ship compliment will have officers, non-commissioned members and MACO / Marines.
I ask you to think deeply about all of those positions and how your personal and professional experience fits OR doesn't fit.Do you want to stay within your "wheelhouse" or branch out and try something new?
This thread is not an application and resume process.
That will come though.
Edit - I now need to know your aspirations and how you want to serve aboard our ship.
If you have any questions about the difference between commissioned members and non-commissioned members please share that in your reply.
