Anyone know where I can buy neodymium magnets in Belfast or nearby. Need them today (Sunday). Preferably flat ones.
I can find these on Amazon/etc, but would like to buy locally if possible. B&Q doesn't list them - perhaps it's a bit too 'hobby' for them.
I am after the small type - say 10x5x3mm to 20x10x5mm in disk or block form.
Do they just melt the Neodymium, Iron and boron all together to form an alloy? If so, since iron has a higher melting point than neodymium and boron has a higher point than iron, wouldn’t the metals just vaporise? I’m not expert into these and that’s why I’m asking lol.
I’m wondering how heavy a 2cm by 1cm neodymium magnet would be. I couldn’t find a weight on the products sight. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello, this seems like a subreddit that could help me out! I implanted a silicone-coated sub-dermal neodymium magnet in my left ring finger, and it’s been pretty rad for the past 3-4 years. However, I noticed recently that it’s lost most of its magnetism. I can no longer feel the juice in my laptop/phone, nor can I even pick up a staple. I can still feel other strong magnetic fields, though (like some other much stronger magnets I have sitting around). I’m comfortable tinkering with electromagnetism at an Arduino-level if necessary. Is there a safe way to re-magnetize my magic finger? Thanks!
I was thinking of ways to holster my rifle without a sling and thought it might work really we and be pretty cool to have it magnetically attach to my back. Do you think this is a good idea? If so any ideas on how to get the magnets on my rifle/molle?
