A list of puns related to "N2"
I am pretty introverted so I have a hard time being open in general, but I always run into problems with people that have lived here for years and can't speak any Japanese at all(not all people; however, I would say a majority of the people I run into). They usually don't have any Japanese friends and live in some weird English bubble. I am constantly being asked why I am trying to be Japanese when I am not. I am happy with who I am, but why is trying to be respectful and learning the local language piss off so many people? I live in Sapporo, so there are not that many foreigners here, but I just don't get it. The reason I've been studying so hard is to get out of a teaching job, but these dudes have been teaching English for 10+ years and are always complaining about life here and Japanese people.
I have been trying to change my job but with covid it has been a struggle to find a healthy environment and a bit scary to make a huge change right now. I've been dealing with some of the shittiest people I've ever met. My company has a total of 4 foreigners that have all been here over 10 years and can't speak Japanese and don't understand Japanese culture in the slightest. They are all anti-vax and trump supporters. I've been flat out called the N word at work(I am Mexican American) and my company has not done shit to help. I worked for interac for 4 months before I started this Job and it was full of the same type of people. Always talking shit, can't speak Japanese and always shitty to be around.
I don't have these issues with Japanese people most of the time. Around Japanese people, I just stick to safe topics and don't ask heavy questions, but when I hang out with other foreigners they tend to bring shit up that I either have to ignore (which makes me look like an asshole) or reply honesty(which makes me look like an asshole to them). I have a few foreign friends which have been awesome, but they all like Japan and want to be part of the community.
I guess I just want to get some advice from people who have dealt with these kind of people.
Edit: Also want to add that I think my Japanese is trash, but I am fluent. I have a LONG way to go to n1, but to non speakers I sound better than I really am I guess.
The new release candidate is available of the Marlin 2 firmware I configured. It's ready now with support for the 2D, thanks to u/mlee12382! https://github.com/just-trey/Marlin/tree/elegoo-neptune-2/config/Elegoo/Neptune-2#readme. Be sure to have a copy of the previous version if you have any issues. I have to do some non-fun stuff for a bit. LOL. The full changelog is here: https://github.com/just-trey/Marlin/blob/elegoo-neptune-2/config/Elegoo/Neptune-2/CHANGELOG.md#2093-n2-rc1---2021-01-09
Also, if you are having issues with the touch screen, here is a "makers workaround." You don't have to use mine. It's non-capacitive. https://thangs.com/treywentz/Screen-stylus-remix-43510?manualModelView=true
Nihongo no mori recently launched a fully online JLPT N1-N3 course. They did a whole series of livestreams in November and December to show off their revamped website. N1 was launched in November, although N2 and N3 were not available back then. N2 is now available, but N3 is still under development (no mention of a release date).
It costs 1480 yen per month (with a 980 yen registration fee). The subscription covers all 3 levels.
I've looked at the sample videos (for N1 only) and it looks good. If you're familiar with Nihongo no mori on YouTube, you know they're pretty good. This content seems to be entirely new and only available on their subscription website.
The course is categorized into Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading comprehension, Listening comprehension and mock exams. They provide apps to take the course on your devices. They also have their own custom made text books which are accessible if you subscribe.
I like how Yuka sensei breaks down complicated kanji into its radicals, and many resemble katakana characters, and she creates mnemonics around them to help you memorize their meanings.
If you're seriously going for N1/N2, this could be a useful (but not cheap) resource. I don't think this is worth it just to get N3. Considering there's hundreds of videos to work through, lots of exercises and trial exams (plus your own revision time), you'll probably need to stay subscribed for several months or more. So do factor that into your costs.
I'm not affiliated with them by the way, but just wanted to let you know of another resource to pass JLPT.
That last listening question was quite hard to follow!
K, thx
Im encountering this scenario way too often.

Over the time I've been on this board, I've seen several times comments like "I know a guy who did n1 in a year from zero". I know this is just a test, and not a full measurement of language knowledge, but even though it's been bothering me. How is this possible? Maybe you know people like this, or perhaps you think this is a larp?

Hello,
So I plan on tackling my first visual novel (Fortune Arterial by August) by the time I complete learning about all N3 grammar points. However, I found out recently that there will be N2/N1 grammar points that you need to know or will have to look up in order to comprehend some parts when reading visual novels.
So, could you share or give advice on what grammar points I should know or at least be aware of when tackling relatively easy visual novels (slice of life and high school content)?
Thank you so much.
Very special show for me, first show in MSG! Iโve been lucky enough to come across a N2 poster and am going to get it framed. Iโve seen others framed with a stub from the show and loved the look! Unfortunately my tickets were electronic and I didnโt receive a physical stub.
Can anyone help me out?
Maybe it's just me, but I feel kind of shorted to have studied *all that* grammar and vocab, just for most of it not to show up. Reading was OK, but that's only because I used some of the 'tricks' I learned off YT (like reading the first and last sentences of each paragraph to get an idea of what the questions were looking for). Kanji and listening though? Forget about it...
Hi,
Posting this on a new account because I donโt want people to see it on my main.
I have type-2 narcolepsy, as well as a wide range of other issues. Iโve tried tons of different meds from my neurologist such as modafinil, armodafinil, Wellbutrin, Zenzedi, wakix, xyrem, sunosi, adderall, and Ritalin. The last two are the only ones that help, the rest had severe side effects and almost zero benefit. My neurologist himself tells me every time that Iโm a strange case for him. It seems to be a recurring theme with most specialists I see.
My cardiologist told me I have a lot of signs of something wrong with my heart like arrhythmia and chest pains (before taking stims).
My gastroenterologist did a colonoscopy and endoscopy and said my stomach is full of ulcers and lesions and inflammation, but he canโt pinpoint whatโs causing it.
My optometrist says thereโs nothing wrong with my vision when it comes to my tests, but my eyes are always glassy, my contact prescription is frequently changing, and I now have astigmatism and poor night vision. I also have severe optical pressure.
My ENT says my hearing tests are perfect, but I have a constant ringing in them and auditory hallucinations, as well as friends always telling me to get my ears checked because I canโt hear them. She also told me my septum is deviated, and my eardrum was perforated in the past from my ear infection 6 months ago. Over the past few years Iโve lost my sense of smell, taste, physical touch, hearing, and eyesight. She said maybe I had COVID, but this has been going on for almost 5 years.
Iโve had multiple head injuries from concussions and whiplash, and my GP had me on muscle relaxers for quite a bit of time due to what she listed as spinal and cervical arthritis. Since my last concussion almost 10 years ago Iโve had brain fog and personality changes, and I just realized that my narcolepsy began to develop around the same time as my whiplash about 5 years ago. I got diagnosed with narcolepsy beginning of 2020. In addition to my sleep test, but neurologist had me do a head scan and it showed an abnormality in my frontal lobe, as well where my cervical spine meets my brain. Heโs never really talked about it when I bring it up, but something about it always stuck with me. He also had me go to a psychologist who diagnosed me with severe anxiety and depression.
One thing I never noticed is my constant neck pain and tightness and I went to look for neck traction devices on Amazon and TENS

As always, its an honor to host a Phish show with all of you here on r/phish. I'm very excited to see what the band brings to the stage tonight. The Tweezer>Bathtub Gin from last night is super awesome. When re-listening to that jam, pay special attention to Fish. He is totally killing it. I was blown away. I'll be paying special attention to Fish tonight to see if he continues his trend. If you're at the show, please check in and tell us about it! How's the sand? How's the water? How's the beer line? We all wish we were there with you!

... keep reading on reddit โกHi, I'm trying to get back to learning Japanese a bit seriously again. I studied in a Japanese language school and was able to get N2 during my time there but after graduating I haven't studied at all. I'm working for a Japanese company but I feel my Japanese regressed during my stay here, I don't really talk much with my coworkers. How do I go on about going back to learning? I'm trying to refresh my N2 by looking up JLPT N2 grammar on the net but I'm a bit overwhelmed by the volume.
Edit: I'd be probably be spending an hour going to work and going home starting next month and I might as well make use of that time to study.
Hi hi, A while back I asked how to spend my time with a tutor, and I got some really useful replies. It's definitely getting easier. Now I can ask some simple questions and give basic answers.
I know these is it possible/how long to questions are vague Anyway, the course I'm enrolled into says that we should be at N3 level by the end of it (in ~8 months), and I plan to take the JLPT in July. I was thinking of going for N3 but until August I have nothing to do except studying Japanese, so maybe I can reach N2?
Here's some info:
So for my not very detailed study plan, I found some really useful resources here (like this PDF titled โA Year to Learn Japaneseโ, it links tons of resources)
Some questions please:
Itโs not the end of the wor

Hi there!
I am somewhere around the N3-N2 level but i have always been self studying so my conversational skills are a little lacking.
With that said, what should I look out for in a italki teacher at around this level?
I have noticed that most of them are offering unstructured conversation practice with no homework, supplementary material for intermediate learners.
Is this normal?
P.S. I have tried a few trial lessons.
Hey all, happy new year.
I spent the weekend putting together a new build and am wondering if Iโm doing something wrong or I should accept the current performance Iโm getting from my setup. Itโs taking about 1-2 minutes to start the Seren scraping process from the time I select press play on the movie information page.
Context:
Kodi Setup:
Is the minute or two load time common for this kind of setup? Would using TMDB Helper or using less widgets speed up that buffer time? Iโve found that the load time is shorter but similar when playing a movie or show from within the Seren add on directly.
Thanks for any advice.
