A list of puns related to "Muzzle (mouth guard)"
Whenever a coach yells to get your mouth guards to start rolling I just sit there. Been doing this for 6 years. Anyone have any gnarly mouth related injuries to scare me straight?
Hello, I have my sleep apnea test coming up soon (pretty sure I do have it based off snoring, waking up out of breath, and fatigue during the day). I also use a mouth guard at night for clenching (the mouth guard has really helped reduce jaw pain and headaches). Does anyone here use a cpap or some other sleep apnea device with a mouth guard? Any advice prior to my test if I also use a mouth guard?
Thanks
I got a night guard for my lower jaw from my dentist about 3 weeks ago for my bruxism/TMJ. I wasnβt aware of how hard I grind my teeth until I got this. It already has some chips in it and one that almost looks like a crack. Is it normal for this to happen so quickly? Has anyone had an experience like this? The last thing I want to do is have to buy another since the first one came out of pocket.
Any help is greatly appreciated! π
My TMJ has been spiking recently and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a mouth guard. I have noise induced tinnitus also and when my TMJ flares it spikes my T as well. I definitely clinch my teeth/jaw when stressed. My dentist says it appears I grind my teeth in my sleep at least a little, but nothing crazy.
Has a mouth guard helped you? I've heard some people say it actually made their TMJ worse.
Any mouth guard recommendations? Should I go get molded by a dentist? Should I buy a specific brand online?
Any input would be great, thanks!
I've had TMJ since I got my wisdom teeth out at 16 (now 26). Now being an adult it seems to have gotten so much worse because either clench my jaw while sleeping and even being awake. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with a night mouth guard and if there are any you recommend.
PS I know I'll have to see a dentist but a co worker said a custome mouth guard they got online worked a lot better than the one given by the dentist. I just want some more opinions/ experiences. The
When I started training I would always wear a mouth guard. Through no conscious decision I now donβt, probably due to laziness. What about you guys?
Hey friends. I have been grinding my teeth like a madwoman during flashback nightmares and am experiencing some significant jaw pain/clicking/tension headaches/etc. Thereβs like ten thousand of these imprint-your-own-mouth guard websites out there. Does anyone have real experience with any particular brand name thatβs provided relief and willing to share their suggestions? Thanks :)
Can you please answer the following questions for data purposes?
Feel free to add any additional details beyond these four if you'd like.
I got a mouth guard not too long ago from my dentist. I havenβt worn it much because I am nervous about using it. I was going to try it tonight butβ¦ I warmed it up in warm water as instructed, I put it in my mouth and placed it and everything but when I bite down on the guard itself the front pops out of place a little.
Is this an okay fit/normal? or should I schedule an appointment for it to be fixed?
Thank you in advance!
So I got fitted for a mouth guard / splint at the dentist (wasn't cheap) and it didn't last 3 months, I woke up with bits of plastic in my mouth (might even have swallowed some of it) I chewed through it and it was sold to me as a longterm investment.. I think it was helping, I mean at least it was the thing that was getting destroyed and not my teeth.. which are already damaged from years of grinding. But part of me also felt like I was biting down on this thing in my mouth too, like was I grinding more than usual because of it? Also I don't know what to do next. I couldn't afford to get a new one at that price, I picked up a boil and bite one which lasted me two weeks but now I've chewed through that too. I'm feeling more tense and wondering has anyone else had such disappointment from the mouth guard solution and if there was anything that you could do about it.
Hey yβall, so i had a real bad gran mal back in april 2020. Actually we donβt know how bad it was cuz i was alone in my studio quarantining and laid there is that post epileptic state for god knows how long. I say bad tho because I am still dealing with memory problems, my back feels broken cuz i mustβve landed on something, and my jaw pops out of place everytime i open it π©
I have been on high alert since because it was such a traumatic event. I did an EMU stay recentish and they captured like 6 events in the two days I was there which is crazy to me (and also shows how effective Keppra is). The night we stopped the keppra i had 3 seizures. Nothing really came out of that other than we know the keppra is working.
I recently went to the dentist for a cleaning and asked about their advice with my jaw pop. We decided to do a night mouth guard because we think I am grinding my teeth which is not allowing the jaw to full heal.
That being said, I am curious if anyone else uses a night mouth guard? Is this safe considering I have epilepsy? I dont tend to have the noctural episodes but still kind of scares me. The dentist seemed to think it is fine but I wanted to check with my fellow epileptics.
I just want to heal from this ugly event π©π©
Hey, I got a hard mouth guard by my dentist like two or three months ago and It worked so well.
Till yesterday at least. Should I maybe make an appointment for an adjustment? Is an adjustment maybe even normal with mouthguards?
I cannot find the reason why I am having problems suddenly again after a "good time".
It fixed it till yesterday and today I still have problems.
What are your experiences?
I've had TN for several years, it's really well controlled now thanks to medication and procedures I've had done but I still can't push things too far.
I recently went to the dentist for the first time in 10 years, the last time I went was to request a wisdom tooth be removed as it was triggering my TN and the dentist was really really nasty to me and it put me off. Plus going long periods where I could hardly brush my teeth made me concerned that when I did finally go back I would get even more grief.
But my dentist was lovely, I only needed a very small filling and he also recommended I got a mouth guard as I've been grinding my teeth. But I'm very sure that any hard plastic will set my TN off, so has anyone come across any alternatives? My dentist said he could provide a soft plastic but when we talked about it more it was still a rigid plastic that my nerves would get angry about.
The biggest trigger point is roughly the middle of my right, upper teeth. I have to be careful with even using a baby soft bristle toothbrush there.
I sleep with a mouth guard due to teeth grinding. It's a few years old and has seen MUCH better days. I really need a new one but my insurance doesn't cover it and I can't afford to pay out of pocket right now. If I buy one off the shelf at Walgreens, am I throwing my money away?
Thanks!
(1. I don't smoke, but do drink. 2. I have sleep apnea and grind my teeth at night, which is why I wear the mouth guard.)
I was diagnosed with TMJ about 8 years ago. I clench and grind my teeth at night. I have chewed through 4 custom dental mouth guards over the past few years, which I thought were supposed to past 5 - 10 years! I have awful flare ups at least twice a year that will last days - weeks. I am currently experiencing a flare up and was prescribed muscle relaxers. My dentist mentioned that there is a mouth guard specific for TMJ (the splint), but it costs an astronomical amount of money and isn't much different than a traditional mouth guard. Thoughts?
Iβve been having tinnitus and muffled hearing in my left ear, when my only jaw pain is on my right side. Has anyone else experienced this? Just went to dentist yesterday for my jaw and ear pain and he recommended I get a mouth guard for TMJ. He said to stay away from the cheap mouth guards because they can make it worse and that I should get this $500 custom guard. Anyone have any experience/success with mouth guards?
Has anyone any experience using mouth guards while wearing braces? Iβm about to get fixed braces on top and bottom teeth and I do combat sports, wrestling, Bjj and boxing which I still want to continue with. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations on types of mouth protection?
Thanks!
I have OSA and tried CPAP for 6mo now. Still wake up in middle of night bc I canβt tolerate mask, but makes me feel better with even 4h. But I hate the machine. Anyone have experience with mouth guards?
Dear all,
As a long time sufferer of Bruxism, I am determined to do something for people suffering from this disease. I am currently involved in a research project on Mouth Guards / Aligners as a solution for the disease. We are trying to determine why people don't use mouth guards or, when they do, why they are not sticking with them as a solution. Hopefully, we will be able to provide a better solution than the ones currently available.
I have made a short survey (5min max) and there is an optional chance to win a $50 Amazon Gift Card for anyone that fills in the survey.
Would be great if you would consider filling it in.

Wishing you all a happy teeth-grinding free new year!
Iβve always wondered this but in MMA fights, the fighters usually wear a mouth guard for the top teeth and not their bottom teeth. Theyβre also usually getting punched in the face and jaw, since they only wear the guard on their top teeth, how do the bottom teeth not fall out?
