Documentaries that cover the environmental impact of meat and dairy production?

I found β€˜Land of Hope and Glory’ and β€˜Dominion’ very powerful, but I’m looking for something that covers the environmental impact of rearing livestock.

How do you justify the environmental impact of eating meat? And why the sustainable grazing argument is flawed.

I'm interested in how you justify the environmental impact of eating meat.

I also have an issue with common idea of pasture raised livestock when used to argue that eating meat is sustainable and good for the environment. The US as a whole eats far too much meat for this to be even a remote possibility for the general population.

The argument around sustainable grazing for livestock has been around a while. The basic idea is that if livestock heards are managed responsibly they can be a carbon neutral and also beneficial to grassland ecosystems. This idea seems reasonable to me and I'm not here to argue against it.

However, most grocery stores (at least in my area) stock maybe one item of grass fed ground beef and the rest of the butcher section is the standard factory farmed meat. Most of the US you have to order online to get pasture raised meat and it seems to be more than double the cost of standard meat. The vast majority of the US is not choosing this option.

Even if everyone switched to pasture raised livestock I dont think it would be possible to meet the current demand. There is just not enough open space to raise the roughly 100 million cows in the US on grasslands and pastures. And so the high meat consumption of the average US household is going to inevitable lead to factory farming and all of the negative environmental and ethical impacts that come with it.

I stopped eating meat primarily for environmental and ethical reasons. How do you justify eating meat considering the negative environmental impacts?
