A list of puns related to "Multiuser DOS"
Few years back (and perhaps still) it was possible to edit the build.prop on the phone version of android and set the option fw.show_multiuserui=1
which enables multi user support on the phone.
Does anyone know if it Works on Android TV? And if so, should it work on any android tv box that can be rooted or just specific ones?
Did a google search for fw.show_multiuserui=1
and android tv but came up empty handed.
This is the feature that I feel is missing from android tv, to be able to have separate accounts in the operating system and not rely on the apps to implement some user switching system themselves.
With the official launch of HomePod mini tomorrow, just curious to see how many og HomePod users are experiencing issues. I assume Apple would want to have ironed these out to ensure a seamless experience for future HomePod mini customers.
Am I correct in my understanding that the GDPR compatibility requires that the user account is removed?
So, if we're speaking of an email campaign sending app, John Smith would be removed, but the email campaigns he created and sent, and his general activity, should remain.
How do I do this? Do I hard-code his name in the activity log, which means if he changes his name, I'd have to change all past logs? If I associate the activity log with a user id, then removing the user breaks everything, or possibly shows "deleted user".
How do you approach this in your current apps? I am in greenfield territory and would like to do it right.
Let's say I have users, accounts, campaigns, activity_logs. What would be a good way to approach this problem?
Was reminded recently of this little gem from a few years ago. I think most of you are familiar with the popular accounting software, which manages the books in a not-slow manner. Got a call from a confused office manager because they were having an issue with it. My level one tech simply described it as an issue with the data file and suggested I talk to $customer.
>imnstp: I understand you can't get it working right? What seems to be going on?
>customer: yeah, we made a copy of $accountingsoftware data file. She took one copy and did accounts payable, I took the other and did accounts receivable. How do we merge them?
headdesk
For those not familiar, it doesn't work like that. Or at least, not at the time.
Ultimately they chose to have a paid support case with the vendor in which the vendor's team manually merged the changes in their two files. This took several days and many hundreds of dollars.
Hilariously, after we advised a proper multi user setup, we never heard from them again. I like to imagine they do this once a year and just pay the vendor each time to merge the files. Because doing multiuser was just a "waste of money."
One of the servers I'm setting up is similar to shared hosting. After a lot learning and some work, I was able to figure out how to set up Apache so that the php in each user's public_html would run with that user's privileges.
In each user's .htaccess I set an action like so:
Action php-fastcgi /~username/php.fcgi
Where php.fcgi will be a bash script that wraps the php-cgi binary. This works great. However today while doing a migration, I discovered a problem. Action can point to things in arbitrary places, not just to cgis that are in subfolders of the .htaccess where the Action is specified.
This means user A can edit their .htaccess to point at user B's php.fcgi wrapper. Then php scripts user A uploads will run with the privileges of user B.
What should I do? With deadlines and stuff I'm not sure if the time even exists for me to do some sort of reverse proxy setup, or hack the Action module or anything time consuming like that.
I could turn AllowOverride off for FileInfo and move that config into the main httpd.conf file. That would have some painful side effects though, because it would break Rewrite at the .htaccess level. It would also mean the server would need to be restarted every time a user was added.
I could scramble the file name of the wrapper, but privilege escalation would probably still be possible anyway.
I'm kind of panicking here. Does anyone else here have experience with setting up multi user webhosting environments? Is suexec actually not a viable choice and I was just sorta tricked into thinking it is? Should I just pretend I see no evil and ship the thing?
Do your worst!

As per the post, a user posts a picture of him playing Switch to cope with a long term breakup. As expected though, some fellow gamers choose to min/max relationship advice stats by pointing out what may have went wrong.

Hello everyone!
Unfortunately, one of our main developers fell ill and we had to push back some roadmap goals. As we are hiring new people, we can't provide good estimates to what we are working on.
Here is an updated roadmap:
Under research:
In progress:
To clear up any end-to-end encryption misconception:
We can only guarantee end-to-end encryption in our servers, in other words, when the messages are sent between CTemplar webmail users, as the emails never leave our servers. This is easily seen in the compose menu when entering an email address, if you see a white/grey padlock, it's end-to-end encrypted.
If you want to send an encrypted message to your friend outside CTemplar, you need to have your friend's public key OR purchase a paid plan to send a password-protected message.
When you send a PGP-secured message, the padlock beside the contact email will be green. Otherwise, CTemplar will use Autocrypt, if enabled.
If in doubt, just hover over the padlock symbol, it will clarify what it means.
The IMAP sub-accounts are linked to a main CTemplar account, but are exclusively used for IMAP. The messages sent via webmail, between CTemplar users, will only be accessible via the webmail, as they are end-to-end encrypted in the server.
IMAP is not safe by default. That is why you need to encrypt your messages before sending them with an OpenPGP solution.
IMAP Encryption & Decryption:
Also, we have heard your opinions regarding the iOS app, so we have decided to rebuild it from scratch. We do not have an estimated date, but we will keep you updated.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

So What did 3 say to 8 ?

I won't be doing that today!

I've once again fallen into the time suck that is Empire Deluxe on DOS. Something about the level of abstraction keeps pulling me in... there is just barely enough difference between the different kinds of units, that I can fill in the gaps between the lines and imagine different historical battles as I fight the moronic AI units.
I know there is a much more advanced game, also called "Empire" that ran on multiuser systems, on of the first MMOs. With much more complicated unit types and terrain rules, and treaties and stuff. I'm not sure I want to try to get level of detail running on my laptop. But I would like suggestions of other software titles, that might be a little more realistic, a little more complicated, while still being somewhat abstractified. I'm familiar with the 'Ancient art of war' titles, I think I'm looking for games in that ballpark, maybe striving for slightly more realism.
Finally, if anyone has some suggestions for hexagon based battlefield games, I would like to try something besides OGRE. Thanks in advance!
