A list of puns related to "Mosquito control"
My landlord is constantly watering the lawn and itβs led to so many Asian tiger mosquitoes. I want to present a proposal for replacing the front lawn with drought resistant natives that donβt need daily irrigation, especially those that can help with decreasing the numbers of mosquitoes. Any tips? Iβm in north east Los Angeles county about 400 ft above sea level.
Has anyone called 311 for mosquito control and had any success? Wondering what the process is like and if it's worth going through the whole process.
I recently moved into a home in Sherman Oaks that has a lovely backyard. However I am unable to enjoy it because there are tiny mosquito like insects that destroy me any time I step foot back there. Does anyone have suggestions? Should I get my backyard sprayed? Does anyone have experience with Thermacell?
We bought a home a few months ago and the inside is pest free, but we want to control the bugs outside. I am irrationally terrified of spiders (I get nauseous at the sight) and we have massive spiders spinning webs on our porch and around the exterior. I know βΒ spiders are our friends. I'm cool if they don't die ... just go live somewhere else. I need to be able to get in and out of my front door without knocking down webs every day.
My wife is more concerned with all the mosquitos buzzing around our backyard, where we spend a lot of our time. She wants to get a company to treat our yard to control them, and thought we could get a treatment that would keep spiders away too.
Except it's a little pricey. Would it be worth it? What other options might we consider?
Long story short I live on the 8th floor of an nyc building. No deck or roof or outdoor space or access. I'm hundreds of feet away from the ground below, but there are lots of nearby porches and roofs of shorter buildings that are about the height of my unit. If I open a window for 10 seconds, 50 hungry mosquitos land on me. I doubt they're flying 200 feet up from the ground so I would guess there's a local population originating on roofs and decks and other high up standing water. I made a few screens so I can open some windows at least, but every year I have to open others to install/remove window ACs and I get wrecked. Back on earth I'd look for standing water, but up here I have no access to anyone's porches or roof decks.
Can anyone think of a way to control them under the circumstances? Any kind of trap I can hang out the window to draw them in and wipe them out?
I get a lot of mosquitos around our doors and they bite us when we go out and try to sneak into the house. There are lots of other bugs as well, but we're less concerned about them. Looking into bug zappers, they seem to be ineffective against mosquitos in particular, though they kill a lot of other bugs.
I find repellent sprays and even some you can plug in, but they don't last long. They seem to be for use when you're hanging out outside.
But we need a more permanent solution because it's not about us hanging out outside, but that they're always around near the doors.
