A list of puns related to "Morning Edition"
Student: Mike Tyson eaths oaths for breakfasth every morning
Edit: made this up today, have merthy on my thoul
Son: what did the fig say to the table?
Me: I don't know, what did the fig say to the table?
Son, angry voice: Hey! I'm asking the questions here. You FIG-ure it out.
Edit: thanks for the silver, I'll tell the boy in the morning!
Edit 2: explained to my son about the up votes and awards. When he heard that someone spent real money to congratulate him for the joke, he said he bets it was his grandparents. He's excited y'all enjoyed it.
In case this is your first time here (I haven't posted in a while), I find jokes here and elsewhere on the internet (and now my friends have started sending me jokes), and I text them to my daughter. I then capture her reactions for those sweet, sweet internet points.
Thanks very much to the original joke submitters. You dads are alright. If you missed any of the previous episodes:
EDIT: Since this is blowing up, I may as well mention that the young lady in question just passed her driver's license test this morning! Everyone congratulate her!
Also, thanks for the gold.
My wife gave birth to our first son on Friday. This morning they came to get him for his circumscion and we were feeding him a bottle. The nurse said we were going to have to cut it short. I said ok, but not too short. And nobody laughed. They looked at me like an idiot. Hopefully the internet will appreciate this.
EDIT: Didn't expect this to garner so much attention, but I guess it deserves some elaboration. Yes, this actually happened and we had our son circumcised. Everything went well without any complications. I made this decision with my wife based on hygienic, traditional, and aesthetic reasons, and I am confident in my decision. I am circumcised, and I'm happy with it.
There are times in my son's life that i will need to make decisions for him, and this was one of those times. I understand that some people think I have committed a terrible crime against my son, but I disagree. There are many arguments for both sides, and I think these decisions should be made by family and doctors when the bridge comes to be crossed.
I'm not going to go through and answer all of the questions and insults individually, I have a newborn to take care off, but y'all feel free to hash it out.
Also, I still think my joke was pretty damn funny.
My wife is 37 weeks pregnant and is scheduled to be induced this morning. She woke up last night just after midnight (I checked) to use the washroom and when she got back into bed I asked her if it was after 12 yet. She said she thought so and asked why. I told her I wanted to be the first to wish her a Happy Birth Day! She appropriately groaned then giggled, so I think I'm ready. Wish me luck!
Edit: We got him a couple hours ago! Everything went well, no complications. Thanks reddit strangers for the comments and well wishes. I know the rules say nothing identifying, 'oh when' ever they change that I'll post his name. Goodnight everyone, I have to try and nap before his feeding
Students were asking about the impeachment news this morning, so I explained what it was about, then:
Me: I'm really confused about the whole process, though. I thought Trump wasn't peach, he's orange!
Edit: I understand the downvotes. This joke was low-hanging fruit.
My 2 yr old is constantly dropping small toys down the grate on the air return and a couple rolled out if site. This morning, I stuck my head down it and found a couple the had been missing for a couple weeks. Yay, dad!
My wife told me "She likes to drop her toys down there when she's angry."
I told her "you can't be upset. She's just venting!"
Groans and laughs ensued.
Edit: "this morning." What the hell is a kornint?
A little too proud of this one...
So Iβm on my usual Tuesday morning conference call with a bunch of vendors, coworkers, bosses, etc...
With his dog barking in the background one of my bosses chimes in and says βJust so you all know, Iβm on the call but Iβm outside right now having my roof looked at so I might be a little distractedβ.
I couldnβt resist... With the instincts of a wild puma plotting against itβs poor defenseless prey, I pounce...
βIs your dog lookin at it?
Cuz he keeps saying ROOF!!! ROOF ROOF!!!β
I was immediately rewarded with a spectacular cacophony of groans and βthat was awfulββs... It was glorious. Iβm pretty sure Iβll get another promotion for it.
EDIT: So... no promotion... but in a pure, hilarious coincidence, I actually DID just get the news that I'm finally getting that raise they promised me at my last review. Too fuckin funny.
I do maintenance on overnights at a department store. We're able to get away with quite a lot of joking around thankfully so it really isn't all that bad
Anyways, it's about 6 or 6:30 in the morning. The daytime employees are just making their way in for the day. Suddenly, I'm paged over the system by the old guy I work with on maintenance
"MetalHeadCrow, where are you?"
I love working with the old guy. He's a great worker and we really get along good. So, I run to the nearest phone, pick it up, and page for the whole store to hear:
"I'm right here, where are you?"
I was happy with myself
EDIT: I'm using my iPod to post so not sure how this will look. Also added a few words
It's actually a father figure.
Edit: woke up this morning and saw this with almost 1k up votes! Thank you guys, I'm honored! ( Hi Honored, I'm Dad)
I woke up and took a drink of water (this tends to make my mustache a lil wet). I roll over and wake my wife with a passionate g'morning kiss to which she exclaims "Jesus! You got water all over me." My reply was simple "You can call me Jesus, I appear to be able to turn water into whine."
Edit* OMG! This is top post on r/dadjokes! I'm glad I can get a chuckle with you guys. I also fixed words.
Starchy and Husk
Edit: I thought this one up in the shower this morning and originally posted it on r/jokes but I realized this is the optimal place to put it.
Since he was my buddy, I was doing this thing for next to nothing. He called me up the other morning and our conversation went as follows
"Hey buddy, do you think you could come by my place and install a couple of heaters?"
"Yeah for sure! Consider it a 'house warming' gift."
I could basically hear his eyes rolling.
EDIT: Phones don't format properly.
I walk into the office after two weeks of vacation, and my boss is reading a book.
Me: "Good morning, brother."
Him: "Hey, hey."
Me: "I missed you man, how you been?"
Him: "I've been right here, you need to aim better. -Flips page- ...But I've been good."
EDIT: Formatting.
We are trying to get up a little earlier so our mornings aren't so stressed. My son was not waking up no matter how many times I poked and tugged at him.
I said "Come on son time to get up." He kind of stirred, I continued, "Remember we said we were going to start waking up a little earlier so we are not "rushin" in the morning?"
He rolled over and said "Nyet!" then went back to sleep.
** thanks for the up votes! Edited out the "g" from rushing, and added bold and italics to make it easier!
In brake failure
Edit: I thought of this after I had a brake line blow out on my way to work this morning
I fell asleep on the couch, because my bed Isn't that comfortable.
The next morning my mom walks into my room and notices that I am sleeping on my couch
Mom: Why are you slepping on the couch?
Me: Oh, you know. Training for marriage.
Heard my step-dad laughing from the kitchen whilst my mom only gave me a confused look.
Edit: WORDS
She left a note saying "I'm leaving tonight for a new life"
The two of them try to track her down, but all efforts fail to find exactly where she is. They search all of the Americas, Europe, Asia, Antarctica, and Australia with no luck, so they ask Toto to help out.
Eventually, using process of elimination, Toto says to Seinfeld and Kramer, "I guess Elaine's down in Africa."
EDIT: Added bits to clarify and help set up the joke. I thought of it this morning after 1.5 hours of sleep so it wasn't well-written at all.
So this happened this morning:
Wife: if it doesn't come next week your in big trouble
Son: dad are you in big trouble?
Me: only a little trouble son, but it might grow into a big one.
Backstory: I was snipped last year after my daughter was born and the wife is getting nervous as I never did a follow up.

One morning while sitting down for breakfast, my Dad looks up, points at my waist and exclaims, "What are those two things coming out of your butt?!" My 6 yr. old self wheels around like a dog chasing it's tail looking for said objects. nothing. I ask what they were and he says he's not sure, but that I will be fine. After school he get's home from work. Me: "Dad, do you those things coming out of my butt still?" Dad: "Yup" Repeat action and conversation from the morning again. And repeat again then next day, and the next ... 7 days in total I'm getting pissed my Dad see's them all the time but my Mom and older Sister don't. I surely don't see two things coming out of my butt. I'm starting to freak out and cry. Why can I not see these two things coming out of my butt, I'm sobbing, blubbering gibberish and spittle running down my chin to my shirt. I'm gasping for air and crying and just about to blow a gasket (I'm 6 mind you ...) my mom finally had enough, "Dammit Craig ... TELL HIM NOW!!" I get all calmed down and start getting excited, I'm going to find out! he sits me down and tells me this ... "I have told you all week that you had two things coming out of your butt?" That's why I'm losing my shit, Dad "Well, I was talking about your legs. You're legs come out of your butt and you have two of them." all the while looking me straight in the eyes, he starts a famously wonderful shit-grin. Mom loses it again, throws her arms up in utter frustration/disappointment/disbelief. Sister virtually pissing herself in laughter. My dad gets up, smiling that smile, he walks away with a pat on the head. "Pay better attention next time."
groan.
TLDR: I was 6, told I have 2 things coming out of my butt for a week. finally told that they where my legs. facepalm and groaner.
edit: - waiting for the right moment to pull this one on my 5 and 7 yr old ...
Darko is my incredibly foreign dad (yes - that's his real name). This subreddit should expect many lame jokes from him.
It was a Saturday morning and I was enjoying my day of sleeping in after a tiring week of school. Darko rushes into my room and shakes me awake with a look of epiphany on his face.
> Me: "Ughh, what is it, dad?"
> Darko: "I was making breakfast when I realized something... If tomatoes are considered fruit... then shouldn't ketchup be called a smoothie?"
...was the joke really worth waking me up, dad. Was it.

So I fell and either sprained or broke my ankle this morning chasing my son around.
Told my wife I had been assaulted, so she better get me some pepper for balance.
The eye roll was epic.
Edit: hairline fracture on my ankle
Conjestion, coughing, the works... She was getting moving for work this morning and I met her coming out of the bathroom...
Me: I can so tell you're into funeral homes...
Wife: cough ... What?
Me: Because you're just a coughin'.
Wife: pre-coffee eyeroll and groan

I was at the dentist office for a morning appointment, just got home and my girlfriend said this:
"Why did you go in the morning? Why not tooth-hurty?"
"I should get a plaque for that, or maybe a crown."
This one is a keeper.
edit: grammar.
Dad is in town. He was watching me make breakfast after I worked out this morning:
[Dagnythedoodle pours flaxmeal into yogurt and mixes]
Dad- What's that you're putting in there?
DTD- Its flaxmeal! I like it cause it tastes nutty and makes my poops really great.
Dad- Oh, that's weird. I dont ever taste poops unless I have to. Even if they're really great.
Edit: Format.words.
A crow landed in our back yard this morning > Mom: hey look! A scare crow!
> Me: that's not a scarecrow. It's just a crow.
> Mom : well that crow certainly scares me!

My dad's joke this morning: A man asked a priest to exorcise the demons in him. So the priest came and did the exorcism. When it came time to pay the priest for services rendered, the man couldn't pay, so the priest had the man reposessed. groan
Edit: spelling
I was driving my younger sister to one of her youth group meetings earlier today and I talked about how I had first seen a funeral procession that morning on the day to school. I started asking several rhetorical questions such as:
"Where was the casket? I didn't see one carried by any of the vehicles."
"What cemetery are they going to?"
But now here comes the gold...
"It was a long procession...I'm sure (s)he was loved." Turns toward her "Do you know what the stages of grief are? It's weird how we say the human experience is unique for everyone, but almost everyone mourns in the same way. Do you know what happens after the mourning?"
I sat there in awe after having quivered before the dad-joke incarnate in front of me when I hear in response:
"Why of course, the afternoon silly!"

A few weeks ago I stayed at my dad's house. In the morning I found I had forgotten my keys and therefore had locked myself in. Because I didn't want to get told off/mocked by my dad, I phoned my brother's girlfriend to go to my brother at his work, retrieve the key from him and bring it back to dad's house to let me out. The following week my brother (the traitor) told my dad about this escapade and dad phoned me to mock me and tell me that not only was there a spare key in the house already, dad just happened to be driving past the house when I left anyway so could've let me out himself...
These are some of the key-related puns since then.
> me: dad, I didn't get the job in [city]
> dad: don't worry, it wasn't a key position.
Today in the restaurant we ate at: oh look! They do KEY lime pie!
Dude turns his head to look at me as dad and I walk down the road together: oooh! He looked keen. Geddit? Keen? KEY-n
> me: okay dad, you can stop with the key jokes now.
> dad makes the motion of sealing his lips and locking them with a key, immediately bursting into fits of giggles before he says: nah I think this joke has many more possibilities to unlock. more laughter
So many groans...
