Several weeks ago my gf laughed at me as I meticulously poured milk into 4 ice cube trays to leave in the freezer. Well love, after 2 days of the shop being sold out of milk, guess whose still got 44 cups of tea safely catered for while you try and eek 2 cups out of the remaining dregs in the bottle

Ok so to clear some apparent misunderstandings here

No I did not stockpile. I ran out at 1am about 8/9 weeks ago so bought a bottle specifically to do this in case that happened again in future. They have been there since then
There is not a milk shortage in my area. I'm avoiding Sainsbury and Tesco before around 3pm everyday to let the elderly, key workers, people on lunch use it without such a big queue outside. The newsagent had an error on his delivery and didn't get any in on Thursday or Friday is all.
It was 4 trays of 12. I had already drunk 4 when I posted this

Not easy to shape with a broken left wrist but it was more than a month I didn't bake, so gave it a try and received a heart back (almost). Baked freely on the oven tray as I cannot hold anything heavy, machine kneaded. Also made a few buns with egg and milk for burgers.

Saving milk using milk trays

I’m due with my first baby sometime July/August and will be returning to work at Thanksgiving. I’ve looked into various freezing options for saving milk and am wondering about the feasibility of using the trays that freeze milk into 1 oz bars. I like the apparent versatility of having 1oz ice cubes to pull out a different amount each time based on what baby needs and potentially minimizing waste. I also like the idea of not using too much plastic. I’m just curious if anyone out there uses these for freezing/saving their milk and if there is any advice.
